The horseshoe just keeps on giving ! 8 - 4 session for 3 of us and it was none stop catching. This place is the best by far and I love it οΏ½οΏ½ highly recommend for a perfect day of fishing x x x

User

Really honest venue. One of the fairest I have been to. Great crew that run the matches and the locals are great.

The fishing is superb. Nets are provided for matches do no need to take any with you.

Mark and Phil top lads and make you feel really welcome.

Great tackle shop on site with high end quality products.

Cafe serves generous breky at very good price

All in all. If it were closer I would be there every week.

One of the best match and pleasure fisheries in the midlands. Well managed and looked after.

User

I'm lucky as I fish lots of different venues and I must say that Alvechurch is without doubt one of the best fisheries I've fished. It's clean, tidy and the fish are in mint condition. Looking forward to fishing it again on Horseshoe, especially as when that float goes under it can be anything!!!

User

I fished at Alvechurch when I was a kid and have started going again regularly for the last 6 or so months. It's a great fishery with a massive variety of really good quality fish. A bit of something for every coarse fisherman out there.

The staff are great! Very friendly and always happy to help. You can always ask their recommendation for where and how to fish. A facility like this so close to the centre of Birmingham is a true asset to the city!

Roll on the warmer weather so I can get on the Arrow pool and aim for my first 20lb Carp!

User

Have fished the fishery several times recently and must say the venue has gone from strength to strength, The owner and his side kick Phil must say have done a tremendous job of turning it around. Horseshoe when your float goes under you never know Carp Ide Barbel Bream Roach take your pick, the Colmic Canal pool fished it on club match for the first time Sunday and was bite a chuck everyone enjoyed it and cant wait till our next match their. House pool now even bigger looks great and packed with quality, and cant forget the revamped Arrow pool which cant wait to give it a go. Well done Mark and Phil see you again soon

User

Great day fishing up on the canal pool today with the old man. He narrowly edged it with 39 carp to my 32 (although I think my stamp of fish were bigger!) He fished peg 22 and caught everything down the edge on banded 6mm. I caught most of mine at 9m up in the water on banded 6mm. Carp went to about 2kg. This would be an awesome match lake.

User

First time at Alvechurch Fisheries today for the old mans 40th, facilities and staff are excellent. Top drawer. And a nice 7lb carb to top it all off

User

Excellent venue, guys on the fishery very helpful. Excellent tackle shop. οΏ½οΏ½

User

Been fishing hear on an off for the last 15 years. An at the moment it's the best it's ever been you can see the amount of money an time that has been put in the place. Took my 4 ear old up today an had fish after fish.

Top work boys keep up the good work.

User

Awesome venue lakes to suit all people no matter what you wanna catch. Great food really genuine people that work and own it love fishing there. If you go just give phil lots of stick πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

User

Adore this fishery and travel 200+ miles for matches. One of the only places I've been where the locals and owners are forethcomming with real info and friendly. Place is mint, stuffed with fish and exceptionally well planned. The Colmic canal is sublime, what a perfectly dug, cut and maintained pool.

Only downside is it's so far for me but worth the travel!

User

01/09/15. Great day's fishing. Slow start, but really livened up after 11am. Good barbel and carp. It's one of those places where it doesn't matter if you are not catching for an hour or two. Just relax and enjoy the surroundings. Helpful and friendly staff - special mention to Phil. Looks after an old codger like me very well. I'm really looking forward to the proposed new wheelchair accessible pool pegs. I've an idea I'll be fishing here for a few years to come.

User

Really enjoyed my time here arrived around 4pm only finished for a couple of hours on the horseshoe lake and had 3 decent carp. The fish are everywhere in all layers 2 foot away from the margarin and all the way close to the island.

User

Visited this fishery for the first time Sunday ,I must say one of the best kept fisheries I've had the pleasure to fish clean tidy and nice to see airaters in . the only thing that spoiled it was been told to leave at 7 30 when the sun was shining and told it was dusk.i felt robbed of the best hour of the day when it is light until at least 9 p m however I will definetly go there again when i can fish all day πŸ‘

User

Nice place looks the part but kinda frustrating.. visited twice now both times arrived early but had to wait ages to pay (have to pay in the shop which wasn't open) paid my Β£9 but then had to wait again for a landing net (arriving to sitting down to fish took an hour) my advice unless fishing a match dont get here early. Ran out of drink on a sunny day so had a wonder back down to the cafe/shop at 1pm to find the whole place locked up and no staff anywhere! Both my visits i had hoped to fish the horshoe after hearing good things but there always seems to be a match on and after finding out the horshoe wasn't available again when i had a free day to go fishing i decided not to visit a third time.. dissapointing.

User

Used the fishery every week a few times a week for the past few months every time has been lovely except for today the staff was different never seen the 'man'who was there today before but he was VERY rude. Won't be going back. All because my hook got caught on the airator. Vile man.
