Happy Mother’s Day to all our lovely customers today! Enjoy your Sunday lunch with us 🍴

User

We booked the hotel quite late and got a brilliant deal on The Willow Room, excellent room for the three of us, the hotel was in an ideal location for us as we were going to The Gentin Arena to see UB40, it was in walking distance to the arena and the train station. The breakfast was good with a choice of cereals, fruit, breads along with a self serve full English. We ate at the hotel from the bar meal menu too, the cocktails were fan. Will defiantly be returning

User

Really enjoyed our stay here. Were here for a week, over from Cyprus visiting friends and family in and around Birmingham. Great location, breakfasts were amazing, staff friendly and courteous. Only minor issue was that water didn't get very hot in the shower early mornings but that is splitting hairs. Thank you very much and we will be staying again when we next visit Birmingham.

User

Our 1st visit to this hotel last night and we will definitely be returning again. Room was nice and the bed lovely and comfortable. Loads of tea coffee hot chocolate water and biscuits in the room. Food was amazing in the restaurant and the breakfast was included in the price which I must add was also really good. Looking forward to our next visit.

User

Me and my wife thought the hotel was great room was very comfortable and warm found the staff very nice and friendly. Had a great meal the the bar last night and breakfast today was lovely. Only downside was paul weller concert was cancelled. I would definitely stay here again.

User

Just had a two night weekend break with my mum. We were both delighted with the hotel and it's facilities. Nothing was too much trouble for any of your staff throughout the hotel. Compliments to the chief for an excellent £22.50 three course meal which we enjoyed on Friday evening.

User

Dined here last night for a family meal with my partner and his family, I was very nervous as I had an engagement ring to propose to my partner and no idea how I was going to do it. After a chat with the lovely girl at the bar she arranged along with the waitresses and manager to have a plate saying “Turn Around” served to my partner and I’d be behind him on one knee with the ring. I’m so happy to say that it went very well and he said yes Big thank you to the Arden and all the staff, you have went above and beyond for us and I will always be greatful. Ps the food was amazing too Steak Diane cooked infront of us was out of this world, can’t wait to come back A massive thank you from my Fiancé and I x

User

Very nice Staff. Excellent and well priced food in the restaurant again with great service. Nice room. However the room didn’t have air conditioning.

User

The hotel is a little dated but service was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the value for money for the food in the bar was brilliant. Downside? Water pressure and water temperature.

User

Stayed at hotel for one night for concert in Genting Arena. Polite and pleasant reception staff. Room was clean, neat and large on second floor, did get lost finding way out as reception signs are few and far between. Arrived back late after gig and had drink at the bar which was pleasant and not too expensive. Slept well and no noise from anywhere!! Breakfast was well presented, fresh and plentiful. Breakfast staff very polite and tentative. Would give a 5* but felt it could do with a slight deco update. Would definitely stay again.

User

One night stay, room was clean, good bed also and warm. Bathroom serviceable but needs updating and repairs carried out. Breakfast was very good and staff friendly and polite. Would stay again as perfect for NEC/Genting Arena

User

Nice clean staff very friendly food and drinks very good value for money would stay again could do with a little freshing up here and there

User

Fabulous stay, hotel lovely, room lovely and clean, night staff were amazing, then came morning,,, Breakfast staff had no etiquette by taking plates before we had even finished eating (RUDE) and housekeeping knocking doors at 9am to see if we had left? surely they should check with reception to see if we had checked out, when given a 12 noon check out they should not be knocking doors??? Its a shame, I was just about to give them a 5 star on trip advisor then morning changed it all, As we own a very busy pub/restaurant we were so looking forward to a rest, gutted by the morning as it spoilt our rest . bit of staff training may be needed

User

Staff lovely and rooms very clean but this is a very tired hotel . Decor from the 1980s . We chose it because of its location described as a 5 minutes from NEC with its own footpath.

No footpath is closed hasn't been used for years

So it's a 20 minutes walk that's fine but say so on the website .

User

On the whole it was a positive experience. The little packs of toiletries and the biscuits in the room were great. The walk to the Arena was longer than expected because the tunnel gate is shut and a security guard told us that was because people were getting in to the area unchecked. The hotel are still saying that this is sometimes open but you have to make your own mind up. Its a lot longer walk to the train station and then back to the arena. The rooms were warm and the clean and the bed was firm but comfortable. My only grip was that the food in the evening wasn't brilliant but breakfast was good. It did shut on time though...10:30

I'm giving a 3* as a top mark on my review of what my experience has been over 3 days the reason for 3* is I've had 5 or 6 swipe cards for hotel room over the period of my stay cause door key (card) does not work. Ive had one meal in the hotel which was a steak which wasn't cooked to my asking even though I told them how I liked it cooked and how to cook it for a heads up I decided not to chance any other meals after that cause of the price of the food. The maids come round as you would expect in the morning and do a knock to see if anyone is there even if there is a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. I spoke to a maid nicely about the cleaning procedure and there answer was we don't go till all rooms are cleaned which will explain why the do not disturb sign does not apply to anyone as the rush to get done.... Im not going to leave all negative.. The staff were good and answered all questions they also resolved all the problems very quick including my door key (card) the best bit was the cheap taxi prices that work in partnership with hotel. The location of the hotel is situated really good which was the reason for the choosing of this hotel, Would I go back?.... For the cost of hotel and what I get... I would probably not return.

User

Terrible loyalty - been a leisure member for 2+ years - had an issue - reported to staff, then Emma the duty manager and nothing changed - found out Emma Cheal was actually the general manager - called her again - she tried to deny responsibility and blame Jo the leisure manager for the constantly freezing pool conditions until I pointed out as general manager she was responsible - she then proceeded to lie to me about legal regulations and current temperatures (I was calling from the club after taking the temperature) - so after 2+ years I left - would not recommend as it clearly came across Ms Cheals is more interested in daddies other businesses than satisfying loyal customers of this one!! Changing room floor was also gross too........

User

Paid a lot of money, although our card hadn't been charged when we found the same room £30 cheaper on your website and mentioned it at check in showing the price for tonight, we were not given the cheaper rate. The sad thing is that we had booked directly with you months ago. So we paid £163 to stay in a room which the decor is outdated by 20 years as well as the mattress it seems. It is bouncy and we can feel the springs...not impressed at all.

User

Hotel was ok but needs revamp in places.. paid £129 for a superior twin room which was only half the size of a premier inn room and had to pay an extra £20 for 2breakfasts.. total £149!! far too much money for the room for one night ..was expecting something wow for a “superior “ room which it definitely wasn’t.. the bar food and drinks were good and didn’t cost too much money so that was a plus .. we booked the hotel because it said 0.40 miles to Genting arena but the flyover and the tunnel under the railway line that gives access was closed so had to walk all way to and through station and out other side 1.5 miles in the rain!

Spa was nice..

All in all paid out a small fortune for an average room with no breakfast and no direct access to the arena the reason we booked to stay

User

Room hotter than Hades. Basically got laughed at when asked for a second fan. Room service advertised as being 24 hour but closed by 11pm, and got told by the helpful fella on the desk that EVEN he couldn’t get food, and to search google. Apparent renovations happening to the rooms next door as they’ve left the carpet protector over the corridor. Lord knows why as it’s circa 1990...wonder what breakfast will entail
