The island painted in a deeper colour to that of the wall cabinets has made it a focal point in this kitchen. keeping the base cabinets in a darker shade to the wall cupboards and mantle has prevented the design from looking top heavy.

Amazingly, glass kitchen cabinets are still a thing. In the kitchen, cabinets with glass fronts or shelves are liked for their transparency and the fact that they frame items nicely, putting them on display without exposing them entirely.
