Ask Italian

Visited here for 1st time trying Ask Italian. Was impressed by the staff. Shown quickly to a table offered a complimentary shot of lemonade very refreshing. Order taken. Drinks ordered. Food arrived after a short wait (it was a Saturday evening). It tasted lovely. Was asked a couple of times if everything was ok. Asked for bill received this quickly. All round friendly service. Would return.

Staff were great! Food was lovley! Wine was super! Only criticism was the wait but would definitely recommend and will most definitely go again and again and again!

Love ask Italian and this one lived up to my expectations and as the time we went was a little later then lunch time it was quiet so we had quick service. I had one of the new calzones with salami which was amazing, I would definitely recommend it. Also recommend the chocolate mousse dessert.

Have been to ASK Italian before in Lichfield. Tried this one in new street and it was equally as good as Lichfield. Staff very friendly and helpful and food is lovely and very tasty. Desserts expensive for what you get but very tasty all the same. Would recommend.

Great service, fabulous food - had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection followed by the chocolate orange bomb - (a delight if you're a fan of a Terry's chocolate orange)

It was very nice but the service was slow. We had to keep chasing out drinks order. We only had one! Then when it arrived the waiter spilled my wine . He had to get another. Food was nice but slightly over priced. Have been to one in London that was better run.

Visited for lunch yesterday. You are given a shot of lemonade, non alcoholic LOL, to cleanse the palette. Ordered oven baked pasta with chicken and mushrooms in a cream sauce. Very nice, good presentation, with a separate side salad. Good service, reasonable price. Twinkle cocktail very nice .. vodka, elderflower and prosecco �

Me and my mate James visited the place tonight for the first time. we fancied a change from wildwood so we was looking at other places we could go and came across this place. i wasnt to impressed! staff was ok, the meal itself the starters i had meatballs which i couldnt eat as they was so hot and spicy then my mains i had the lasagna and garlic bread which was ok but the lasagna you could tel it was shop bought and cooked early on in the day and reheated and the garlic bread was ok not the best i have ever had, fot dessert i had the cheesecake which you didnt get alot of but it was the best part of the meal LOL!! with a bottle of beer added to that it cost me £34.70 wow here one place i wont be going back to in a hury.

Had a relaxing meal with my daughter and best friend. We all enjoyed our and drinks and our waiter was very friendly, food was good and the restaurant was very clean

Good food as always but terrible service. Sat down at 4:30, the drinks order was promptly taken as was the food order shortly after. The food and drinks arrived in good time but we sat with our empty plates for over 20 minutes. Eventually the plates were taken and we were offered dessert menus which we quickly got but we then waited for the order to be taken for 15 minutes, i asked for the bill at the same time and told the waitress we had a train to catch but we weren’t to concerned as we had enough time for dessert. We then waited for another 20 minutes for the desserts to arrive but one was missing. We ended up leaving the missing dessert behind and walking very quickly to catch our train which left as we got to the platform, we missed it by around 30 seconds. Nice one Ask Italian! Good service initially followed by probably the slowest service we’ve had anywhere.

Visited this evening with some friends. First of all, I must mention I've been here before a couple of times and I abdolutely loved it; so I recommended this place to my friends toning. We came around 5pm all excited to have Italian. Walked in, the restaurant was empty and there was a young lad cleaning a table. He looked at us and ignored us, My friend suggested to approach him in case he didn't see us. As we approached him he continued ehat he was doing and just showed us where to sit. No greeting, not a warm welcoming. NOTHING. We sat down and he was at the table just opposite us; I kept having eye contact with him so he could bring us the menus. After 5 minutes he remembered it and brought them to us. I ordered butterfly king prawns for starter and linguine fruttini mare for main, My friends had a pizza margarita and carbonara. The food came really quick; that was a surprise! Unfortunately my good was absolutely tasteless, COLD and felt like they just microwaved the plate and brought it. And the rest of the plates that we ordered were tasteless. Abdolutely waste of time and so disappointed. I was trying to catch his attention but nothing happened for a couple of minutes. At last he came over and told him that I was disappointed. No apology was given, totally unprofessional body language of him having his hands on out table stabilizing his body on it. At last, I accepted his replacement and I APOLOGIZED FOR BRINGING MY QUERY UP. His answer was: that's fine. Disgusted!!!!!! After 2 minutes my plate came over, felt like I was having the exact same thing but I thought I would not push it and ruin the night. After 2 minutes a lady comes to our table with a nice presentable plate and just a said "the linguine?" It was such an awkward moment because she was looking at me and my friends were shook, and ready to get up and leave. Customer service is absolute nightmare, no professionalism, no training must have been provided to the staff obviously ! Cherry on top of everything, no check back was provided and also the lad came to the table didn't say a word and just started cleaning our table, he only said "do you want the bill?" When I looked at him surprised! We said that we might consider a dessert that might make up for all the rest but after 15 minutes we never received any menus! Total disappointment, will not returning back!!

Ordered their festive menu (3courses and a glass of prosecco for £19.99, onto a winner) however what proceeded was some of the worst service I’ve had. The woman came to take our drinks order and we said we were ready to order food and drink, she still only took our drink order and disappeared for 10 mins. Starter arrived and was lovely, one main arrived cold, so one of us finished our dinner as the other one started. No one came to check the table throughout the meal, we sat for another 20 minutes after we’d finished our main. Finally when someone came over we were due to catch a train so we said cancel the desert as we didn’t have time and frankly wanted to get out of there. We were then charged for each course and the complimentary prosecco with only the cold main taken off. Ok food but the service is shocking and on top of that the manager has no interest in customer service, just sat at a table at the back.

I went to this restaurant last night and the service was abysmal - we waited an hour and 20 minutes for our mains. To start I had the meatballs which were almost impossible to eat - they were rock hard and the sauce was so spicy I’ve been incredibly ill and throwing up ever since. The carbonara was pretty tasteless as well. Definitely won’t be returning

Horrendous service! Was left waiting for over an hour for our food after ordering, had to ask where it was, wasn't asked how the food was or offered any condiments etc. Tried to get the attention of one member of staff to ask for a jug of water and was asked to "hold on", he then proceeded to walk off! Food was lovely when it arrived eventually, but wouldn't eat here again due to the appalling service.
