The owner Michele is having surgery for a full knee replacement and the café will be closed ON MONDAYS ONLY for approximately eight weeks during her recovery period.

Cheriton Light Festival has begun... we love our display in Basil's.

We are really looking forward to our first Cheriton Light Festival and excited that we will have a light installation in our cafe throughout the event.
Basil's will be open from 6pm - 9pm on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th February serving hot drinks, soup and sausage or bacon rolls. The forecast says it will be chilly, so we'll do our best to warm you up before you set off to view the spectacle.

Midweek specials....

Really enjoyed my poached egg & avocado on toast this morning. Local fresh free range eggs. Delicious.

From next Tuesday, & every Tuesday, get a full English, vegetarian or vegan breakfast and pay full price for one and half price for the 2nd. Available all day!

We love this friendly little cafe - great breakfast and lunch menu - and delicious cakes.

Always welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble . Good veggie options too. Highly recommended☺.

Popped into this gorgeous little place for the first time for this morning with a friend.. Was greated by a lovely welcoming young lady & the Owner & instantly felt at home, the decor is clean & fresh (not greasy spoon) & with the sun shining through the windows made it even more delightful. We treated ourselves to a full english breakfast that was absolutely scrummy & made with surperb quality ingrediants & our latte was served in a nice big cup which is always a bonus � & upon paying when finished we were told it was buy 1 get 1 1/2 price on Tuesdays (we didnt know this before entering) which means we'll most definitely be treating ourselves a bit more here ... Would highly recommend ...

Lovely coffee shop run by a lovely couple Michelle and Nigel, we had coffee and very tasty hot cross buns ,also great price .new and up and coming in Folkstone.

Having used this cafe over the first year they have been open, I'm happy to endorse them. Michelle and her staff are friendly and professional, happy to adapt the menu of food and drinks to suit the needs of the customers. The menu is changed regularly to suit the seasons and festivities and always includes options for vegetarians and vegans. Well worth a visit.

Had a excellent breakfast on Saturday morning the owners were out for the day but the staff were lovely and very helpful and pleasant as usual, definitely recommend it

Basil's is like an oasis in the desert. I stop for a toasted sandwich and cappucino on my way home from work in the morning. I'm fussy so when I say their toasted sandwiches are great, they really are. Nice fresh bread, a generous amount of filling and very importantly, no greasiness. They use top quality ingredients and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. Today's lady even brought out a bowl of water for my dog on her own initiative, and I very much appreciated that gesture. The shop is spotless but cosy and welcoming. Its going to be a great favourite.
