visited midland Bultimore twice/thrice in the year 1995/96/2000for a cultural meet. Beautiful people of midland bengali association. my hartiest congratulation. GOD BLESS.
Visited this page. Liked it. It is very nice to see Bengali people celebrating and enjoying despite of their religion and race. A Bengal away from India. Liked your Holi celebration also. It is awesome to see all dancing at the beat of Lungi Dance. Lot of love to all of you. Best Wishes.
It is great place to be in. A real para feeling with all friendships, helping hands, gossips, and backbiting.
Enjoyed my time with all of you . Your efforts are exemplary and is much needed to nurture our culture and heritage. All the best !
A great Bengali Durga Puja away from Kolkata. Liked everything about it. The food was also amazing.
Thank you for organizing a great event and giving kids who are born outside of India/Bangladesh a chance to celebrate. My appeal - can we do something much deeper and meaningful next time than just pompous show of dress and performance?
#1. Dedicate 2 minutes of remembrances for all the Bengali Hindus who were driven out of their homeland from Bangladesh. How about remembering those mothers and sisters who were raped, killed, tortured, and it is still happening every day. Bengali and Rohingya Hindus girls are afraid to say they are Hindu.
We gutless Bengali males couldn’t do anything to protect them. How about at least admit it happened and let the future generations acknowledge this. How are we going to celebrate ma Durga and ma kali, and ma Lakshmi, if our own sisters, mothers are tortured. Jews people made sure that their suffering is recognized; why can’t we do the same. We must strive to build a museum to document everything that happened.
#2. How about we dedicate a fund or a discussion board to help the young people in West Bengal – there is no job, no infrastructure. Let’s give them a helping hand.
#3 How about we dedicate a segment to remember all the Bengali Heroes and leaders? I mean real one like Khudiram Bose, Acharya JC Bose, Netaji, Tagore and others. Let young Bengali kids learn that Bengal produced many talented people in every sphere of life. Our Bengali mothers produced brave, fearless sons and daughters.
Finally - we must use these forums to build our strength help our communities wherever they live; not spend the entire time in entertainment, gossips and shallow activities. Bengali Hindus stop living in bubble and must come together for greater good and to protect each and every Bengali Hindus everywhere. We must think bigger than simply congratulate ourselves on organizing a great local Durga Puja. If we don’t come together now, we will be extinct.
