Went for cocktails last night, they were lush! Much cheaper than other places too! Great views overlooking the sea, bar staff couldn’t do enough for us - including making cocktails that weren’t on the menu ❤️ Will definately go back!

Visited this afternoon for afternoon tea for a friends birthday, the hotel has recently been refurbished, lovely decor, staff where very friendly , kept us topped up with tea, the food was lovely and fresh, staff checked that we was happy with everything, got lovely window seat as requested. Will definitely revisit, the restaurant menu looks good for an evening meal , excellent afternoon, couldn’t fault a thing..

This hotel is looking fab after its refurbishment. The afternoon tea was lovely with sandwiches, scones and a selection of cakes including macaroons, cheesecake and mini chocolate eclairs. Will definitely be back!

Stayed for the weekend for a break with my other half. We could not fault this hotel at all. Food was lovely staff was friendly they couldnt do enough for you. We even had a member of staff knock on the door on the saturday asking if everything was ok. We would defently stay here again. Great weekend had by both of us

Had sparkling afternoon tea with my mum and we both loved it, there was a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes etc. The decor in the bar, reception and toilet areas were very tastefully done. Maj who served us our tea and subsequent gins was very customer focused and even played a few tunes for us on the piano. All in all, a very enjoyable afternoon and I would highly recommend the Clifton Hotel.

Had a lovely stay. A one night treat for my wife and I. The room was lovely. Shower was a little slow but we have had worse! We had an evening meal in the restaurant. Really spoilt ourselves and was great. All staff very polite and helpful. Parking for £2.50 for our stay. Great value for money. Thank you

Booked afternoon tea for a friend's hen do, there were 10 of us, several with dietary requirements. From booking to eating the service was excellent, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Food prepared freshly - not a dry scone in sight, delicious and lots of it. Will definitely go again.

Visited for murder mystery night.

Had a great time with friends.

Mostly happy with hotel.

Big plus that very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice breakfast although separate area for murder mystery guests.

Our room clean, but felt like it was on a hill, made me feel a bit uneasy. Hard to get shower right temperature, boiling hot so had cold shower.

Our friends had a lovely huge room, but did notice (too late!) that bedding had a huge stain.

Room mystery in was too small and as we were in corner too awkward to get out and look at clues and food too limited, although they did give another choice to my partner who couldn't eat what was offered.

Apart from the few gripes it didn't ruin our stay and overall did have a lovely visit.

The afternoon tea was a belated birthday special treat from my daughter & son-in-law. The sandwiches, rolls, fancy cakes, scones with clotted cream & jam were fresh & delicious. An excellent selection & so much we couldn't eat it all. Very friendly & welcoming staff, nothing was too much trouble. I look forward to going again. ☺

User

Much better since refurb. Think the steps to main entrance are a touch on steep side and the rooms floors are not what you'd call level. Put a glass or cup on the table at your peril!

User

Lovely staff and service. Good food and it has recently been decorated and looks good.

User

Enjoyed a couple of beers on the terrace in the sunshine ☀, along with the veggie wrap from the BBQ, which was very tasty.

Afternoon tea

On the whole the afternoon tea was lovely ,the scones were excellent and good variety of cakes . However the sandwiches were a let down they were very cold as if stored in the fridge for quite some time. The service was good and the surroundings were excellent .

User

Had a sparkling afternoon tea for my birthday. Well first of all the fizz wasn’t all that sparkling but was ok! The sandwiches were very dry (like they were leftover from the day before!) the tea and scones and service were good however...

User

Afternoon tea booked via groupon bargain! Plenty of food provided however the cakes were a complete let down. no flavour what so ever. what’s even more annoying is that on our way out there was a cake display with amazing cakes in?? Such a shame as really wanted to come back here and keep this as my local afternoon tea gathering
