Is convenience contributing to food associated illnesses?
We all live busy lives and need ways to make our lives more efficient, but is there a link between our demand for "ready-to-eat" food such as bagged salad/preprepared vegatables etc and the rise in foods related illness outbreaks?
This article explores the link https://goo.gl/zmfqtV

In conjunction with our partners, BioCote® created the world’s first antimicrobial classroom. The study investigated the levels of bacteria recovered from the antimicrobial classroom and compared them against a standard classroom.
The antimicrobial classroom saw a 96% reduction in bacteria when compared to the regular classroom, with all antimicrobial products harbouring significantly less bacteria than their standard counterparts. This classroom also reported an astonishing 20% reduction in pupil absenteeism over the course of the academic year.
If you manufacture products and surfaces that are utilised in school environments, contact BioCote® today to find out how you can make them antimicrobial. Read about the full study here https://goo.gl/q9QP1D

One of the most contaminated surfaces you will come in contact with in an airport, may just be at the check-in process!
A study conducted by Insurancequotes.com sampled surfaces at three different major U.S. airports and found that one self check-in monitor recorded over a million CFU (colony-forming unit). On average, the check-in monitors swabbed harboured 253,857 CFU, compared to an average of 95,145 CFU on the plane's flush button. #holidays #airports #checkin #contamina...tion
It's quite an alarming thought that you can be exposed to such high counts of bacteria within the first stage of your holiday!

Studies have shown that a pair of shoes can harbour over 420,000 colonies of bacteria and also faecal matter. Yuck.
Failure to remove your shoes before stepping into your house can mean that these contaminating bacteria are transferred into and around your home, exposing you and those you live with to potentially harmful germs.
So how can you 'put your foot down' and ensure the environments you live, work and play in don't end up as the forever home of potentially harmful ba...cteria?
