We have now just received their new Summer ‘My VIP’ magazine in which we feature. A big thank you to @petsathomeuk and all their cu...stomers. IMPORTANT NOTICE – SUNNYSIDE CENTRE OPEN DAY POSTPONED
Due to an increased risk of the canine parvovirus in the Walsall area and on advice from our veterinary team, we have made the decision to postpone this Saturday’s open day event. Whilst we know how disappointing this will be to the many people who had planned to visit us on Saturday, we feel sure that you will understand that the health and well-being of our dogs and those of our supporters and visitors is paramount. Whi...lst we strongly encourage all dog owners to vaccinate their dogs, we cannot guarantee that all dogs attending the open day are up-to-date with their vaccinations and therefore bringing many dogs together would simply be an unacceptable risk.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a new date for the re-scheduled event but will update you as soon as we can.
Please read the advice below from our veterinary team at St.Georges Vets should you be worried about canine parvovirus.
Canine Parvovirus is a highly contagious disease. It is an extremely hardy virus and can survive outside a dogs body for up to 12 months. It is endemic in the environment. All unvaccinated dogs are at risk of catching it from the environment, and puppies are especially susceptible. This year we have seen an unprecedented number of cases. The main signs to look out for are profuse vomiting and diarrhoea, often with blood in it. If your dog is showing these signs or is not vaccinated we urge you to contact your vet at your earliest convenience - Stuart Cashmore BVETMED MRCVS

He is looking for a quiet home where he can have an endless supply of cuddles.

Meet Hope - our Brindle bundle of joy who is only 6-9 months old. This gorgeous girl has been through a lot already which is sadly why she is extremely nervous around new people and experiences.
You can see from this video that she has a lot more confidence whilst in the company of another dog so we are looking for a home where she will have a play mate but also with owners who have the experience and time to help continue her socialisation and confidence.
Please come down and meet her today or view her full profile here ➡️ http://bit.ly/2KCF11p for more details please 📞 01902 790 618

We have just rehomed a beautiful girl called DOO DOO , And received a 1st class service from very very friendly staff who have a real passion for their jobs and all the of dogs in their care , long or short term

User

We came to Sunnyside over a year ago looking at extending our family and fell in love with a beautiful dog named Nina. She settled in so well and is a firm part of our family. We couldn’t imagine our lives without her. When we saw her a kind gentleman took us to an enclosed area so we could spend a bit of time with her as she was very busy looking at all the other dogs. Thank you to everyone who helped out.

User

We arrived yesterday to see a beautiful boy alonzo. Greated by staff who were amazing. Let us take him for a walk and get to no him. Staff are working so hard back and forth walking all the dogs at the centre. Fantastic people and answer any questions that you have. Alonzo has had a good first half a day with us! Wejt pet shopping with us pick his toys etc He's had a nice little walk and and pretty much slept. Last night he got in bed with us and slept between us (he slept like a baby ) only complaint is he only give me like 5 inches of the bed so I had no sleep but as he's cute I'll let him get away with it. He's absolutely amazing and I can't thankyou enough. We love him so much already!

User

The center has a beautiful setting, the dogs all look very well looked after by the lovely Sunnyside staff. I immediately fell in love with a husky X named Lettuce. When rehoming they gave me all the information I could have wanted and gave a courtesy call the next morning to see how we were getting on. She's having a great time here in her new home and loves walks and runs around our local country park, I'll attach some pictures below

User

Thankyou to the staff at Sunnyside for looking after my dogs at their boarding kennels while we were away. I’ve got two happy clean dogs back and we will definitely use you again.

User

Thank you so much to everyone involved in looking after Vinnie whilst we have been on our holidays. He’s had a fab time and we can tell he’s been really well cared for. We will be back

User

Super doggy home! We had our ella from here and she has been looked after so well. All staff are friendly and helpful.

User

Sunnyside is a very friendly and clean environment. Walking round the dogs looked clean and the best they could be living in a different environment. My family and I fell in love with a staffie and after a couple of visits we took her home after been given plenty of advice from the caring staff. She has settled down well and loves playing with her toys

User

Sunnyside have been absolutely fantastic.. we adopted a beautiful pup a few weeks ago, and they couldn’t have done more for us. It was very obvious to see she loved the staff that worked with her, and all the staff members appear very passionate and have the dogs best interests at heart.

I have had questions on many topics a number of times since we’ve taken her home (it’s been a fair few years since we’ve had a puppy) feeding, walks, vaccinations and every time they have been happy to take my calls, help and answer any query I’ve had.!!

Can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for us and our little girl.. can’t wait until she grows up so we can rescue another into our pack..!!

User

Lovely clean place for dogs to find their new forever homes. Staff were very friendly and helpful . With their help we made sure this little boy came home with us. He has settled in lovely and he is such a great character. Loves his food, walks and playtimes in the garden .

User

I think everyone at Sunnyside is amazing, knowledgable, sensitive and understanding. The dogs are so well looked after and cared for. The grounds are clean and tidy and each time I’ve been there I’ve only ever seen hard work and graft. You do an amazing job.

User

Hi we recently rehomed Willow previously called Faery The staff were wonderful really helpful, we visited on the Monday and we had Willow home by the Thursday. User

Couldn’t thank Tina and Ema enough for helping us through such a sad time of giving our dog Luna up. Tina was so fab and understanding and I would recommend anyone to adopt a dog from sunnyside! Tina informed me today that Luna has now gone to her new forever home and I couldn’t thank you enough for keeping me updated every step of the way!

User

A wonderful, caring place. All the staff do an amazing job !!! Sandra was so helpful and lovely when we came to collect our new fur baby

User

Recently rehomed a dog from Sunnyside I found that most of the staff didn't have a clue what they was talking about. My dog upon walking around the field i said to one of the girls on the front desk that his collar was to tight to which she told me they tighten thw collar to prevent it slipping over his head when walking when his lead was hooped over his head not even attached to the collar anyway.

Secondly as the dog i rehomed is classed as obese i asked for them to tell me how much food to give him to help him loose his weight. This was never done so having to take him to my own vet to find out.

Thirdly i had arranged to collect my new furry friend at around 4pm Tuesday 6th Feb which they said was ok. They called me at 3.50pm which i was 2 minutes away from the kennel ready to collect him. They called to say he now has kennel cough and needs to see their vet the following day. I'm sorry but why wasn't a check done earlier or they could of called me earlier.

Last of all most of the front desk people lool miserable which to me is not a good first impression as you walk into the kennel. I think staff need further training as they're knowledge is shocking. Defently do not recommend Birminghams dogs home. I got another dpg at home who is also a rescue dog and the centre i got her from are more plesant and give ypu loads of information

staff have no idea what theyre doin there! seems that each member of staff have their own set of rules and make things up as they go along! went in too go and see my dog afer finding out that he had ended up there from the new owners my mom had given him too. mom was contacted by the kennels because obviously the microchip on my dog one member of staff said too us he had to stay there for 10 days regardless and we had no right too the dog even though he was microchipped to us,another member of staff told us that after 10 days we could have him back, another one said they didnt no what was gona happen too him,we basically was told different stories by each member of staff there on top of that theyd said the first time my dog was friendly and everybody loved him, a few hours later another member of staff said he was horribly agressive. during the 10 days that we werent allowed to reclaim the dog as told there was no communication to update us on the dog even though i was goin in regularly. after the 10 days i had gone in went too see him asked where he was and horribly the member of staff had told me how nasty and aggressive my dog was towards them,i knew my dog and i know he wasnt aggressive and wouldnt hurt anybody(unless he was being defensive)and that he had to be put to sleep and that they had no choice but to do that. before putting my poor dog to sleep they didnt contact us or even mention the fact that theyd had to put him to sleep and as many people have said they shouldve asked for our consent to do this and couldnt put him down without it as he was microchipped to us. after finding out he had been put too sleep the following day mom had called them the member of staff had said if we had reclaimed the dog we couldve had him back the same day he was bought into sunnyside kennels however when he actually was theyd said he had to stay there 10 days regardless and we wasnt allowed to reclaim him,it was disappointing as they hadnt asked us or even told us that they were putting down my dog at the age of only 1year and 6months old,she had then asked for his collar and a record of when and how he was put to sleep the woman had then said that she didnt no what had happened to his collar and probably was put to sleep wearing it as she only knew when he left their premises he was wearing it and that they had no record on his behaviour each day other than ‘he got worse and more stressed’ which we wasnt told about. we’re totally heartbroken as we was lookin forward to gettin our dog back but by this experience its clear to say the staff there had already decided the day he was bought in knowin very clearly that we wanted him back and was goin to claim him back after the 10 days like we was told. we’re absoloutely heartbroken at this and really do hope this never happens to any other dog and owner. i truly urge everybody to look into the policy of the kennels because the staff obviously make their own rules up as they go along. my dog wasnt anything they described him as after knowin him for 5 minutes, the staff on the phone explained how they used a pole on him to assess him and obviously like any other person\animal would become defensive to that, the staff clearly didnt want to spend time or even try and give the attention and love and care to my dog that was needed and by what was seen and said he was mistreated and neglected there+my true wish is for all them dogs to find their loving home and get out of that horrible place. truly truly heartbroken at the loss of my beautiful baby coby 1/6/2016-13/11/2017!

HELP ME PLEASE! does anybody know of anything that can be done to give sunnyside what they deserve! its been over 6 months and im still not over it,it hurts theyve just killed my baby and got away with it! does anyone no where id be able to find out where he was cremated or any other information as sunnyside didnt have a clue of his whereabouts.
