With Birmingham set to celebrate 130 years as a city, we thought it was a good time to go back even further in time, and share this video we created about Medieval Birmingham! Discover Birmingham's medieval past by taking a tour through the heart of the 14th century town. This 'virtual' tour is based on our model interactive of medieval Birmingham. You can see the model on display in the Birmingham History Galleries at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (UK). For a subtitled version please see the video on youtube: https://youtu.be/JZq9cBzrIVI

In 2018 Birmingham Museums Trust collected over 700 watercolours and sketches by the artist Arthur Lockwood as part of the HLF funded Collecting Birmingham project.
Arthur was born in Birmingham. He studied book illustration at Birmingham College of Art and graphic design at the Royal College of Art. His main subjects are urban, especially areas that are changing and industrial, either inside the working factory or the outsides of factories.
... We invited some local manufacturing companies to see the scenes of their factories. We were interested to learn more about what was happening in the scenes and their reaction to the images.
All artwork by Arthur Lockwood and we thank him for his generous donation to the museum’s collection.
For subtitles please see the video on youtube, thanks! https://youtu.be/d__OIxil0Iw
