Day 6 of WBW already! Well done to all of you who took part in the The Big Latch, whether it was at home or at an organised venue. I heard the one in Leamington was amazing. Feel free to post your photos if you can.

I am not the best as sharing the praise that we get from our clients, but this one from a recent sleep client is just awesome!

Breathing techniques are an essential part of your preparation in the antenatal period, regardless of how or where your baby will born.
Our Antenatal courses and Expecting Again course offer a dedicated session, looking at breathing and relaxation, to help you stay calm and in control on the day of your birth.
We look at positons and what you can do to ensure the best birth experience possible, whether you are low or high risk.
... Come and join us so that we can teach you all that you need to know to have an amazing birth, and you can also make some great friends too.

Day 3 of Breastfeeding week. It isn't easy, so if you decide to begin this incredibly rewarding for both you and your child, do so with an open heart and mind. I love that saying - “I'm not telling you it's going to be easy - I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.”

I love Weddings and appreciate they are expensive and a very big day in your life! Why is it though, that so many couples worry about spending money on what is potentially the next biggest day of their lives?? I saw a post recently on a Facebook group where a lady was asking for a 2nd hand birth pool, because she had spent all her money booking a trip to Disney and could no longer afford one, but desperately wanted a water birth. I went to Florida this year and I know it is a... trip of a lifetime, but your baby’s birth is surely worth more? For a start, it’s not insurable, you can’t do it over again, and you will remember it WAY longer than a holiday! (Ask any 75 yr old woman about her birth and she will remember every last detail) Please consider investing in your birth experience! Our new blog is about how others are recognising the importance of budgeting for birth.

Day 2 of breastfeeding week and this is a truly incredible video by the amazing Holly McNish. Please comment if you can.

We are so lucky to be able to support women if they choose to breastfeed. It is not an easy journey for many and can be made worse by lack of public support. It is such a shame that so many women still feel the need to cover up, or to feed in private when they are out and about. If you are a breastfeeding mother, we want to congratulate you! Please feel free to share your story below and give other women the confidence to breastfeed.

Just had the most wonderful phone call from a very special Doula client and friend. She called to tell me how grateful she and her husband are, 11 years after their beautiful home Vbac. She said that she had recently been reminded of the benefits of having a Doula and that they had been reflecting on how positive their experience had been because of it. Thank you Rosie for the call, it really made my day!

Such an exciting week!

Not enough hours in the day for this one, but it is very inspiring, and a few modifications will give you enough ideas.

If you have friends that are pregnant what advice are you giving them? Hopefully you will tell the m to join Birthability classes for some ‘real’ information to prepare for birth...

Every month we run our Antenatal course and I stand up in front of all those couples and share with them what we do as doulas and what we know they need to know as amazing birth partners. Every single month, without fail they sit in silence and listen!! Every single month, without fail, I worry that I have said too much and question the content of what I am sharing. I talk about what they can do to ensure a positive birth experience, and I worry that I have been too pushy in explaining how to have the birth that they want!! And then I get to the end and I ask one simple question:- Can you tell me what you are taking away from the session? And they BLOW ME AWAY!! I feel so privileged that our couples take on board what we are suggesting - their positive birth stories speak for themselves! #lovemyjob.

Looking to have a positive birth experience?
Our Antenatal Courses ensure that the couples who attend know exactly how to achieve the birth they want. In this video, clients explain how they felt well prepared for their birth, after attending one of our courses, even when it didn’t go exactly how they had imagined. Birth preparation is a great way to make friends and have a fantastic support network for the early postnatal days. All information on our excellent courses is on our website. We hold classes monthly in Solihull and Warwick, and our next avaible course is in March which is suitable for couples due in April/May/June.

Myself and my husband have recently finished the Birthability Antenatal classes. They were really useful, helping us feel more reassured and confident about our choices. Sarah and Sally-Ann were lovely and informative, they both have a great knowledge and passion. Would definitely recommend them

My husband and I attended the course in September and found it such an empowering and enjoyable experience. We were both on the skeptics side about how much we could learn and both came away far more prepared and able to handle our birth much more successfully. Sally-Ann and Sarah are both such passionate and caring individuals and really go above and beyond to support all couples in and outside of the course and could not recommend them enough! It also felt the least judgemental and most open minded course out there!

Me and my husband decided to do the 4 week antenatal course after doing the free taster session. I am very glad I did as I found them very honest and the information very useful. If we ever have another child then I am definitely going back to Sarah and Sallyann!

User

Finished our classes last night, and i feel sad we wont go to them anymore. Sarah and Sallyann are so welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to the coffee mornings and support once my little one has arrived!! Thank you so much you really helped prepare both me and my partner xx
