About Birthessence

BirthEssence offers Holistic Massage, Reiki and 1: 1 Sessions to support you on your journey to motherhood and beyond.

Birthessence Description

Hi, I'm Charlotte Kanyi, founder of BirthEssence.

I am currently offering holistic massage, Reiki, and 1: 1 sessions that are all individually tailored and designed to support you on all levels on your journey to motherhood and beyond.

I am a mother of two who is passionate about birth and motherhood. I founded BirthEssence to share the skills I used on myself during my pregnancy and two births to enable me to birth from my strong powerful inner essence.

In all my work, both bodywork and 1: 1 sessions, I aim for you to discover your innate strength, confidence and power as a birthing woman, to trust in your body and the birthing process, and to delight in the transformational power of your unique birth experience.

Please see the website for more information about what I offer and I look forward to working with you and your babies.

Statements like the first two here happen all the time and we don't even notice if the person is well meaning and speaking kindly and then we may not realise it is not actually consent. Even if it is something we would choose if given consent.
We can change this. We deserve to be treated as intelligent human beings and given an opportunity to consent and choose our care.
Here is a blog I wrote linked to this subject with some tools to support yougetting the right treatment ...and making your birht plan happen. http://www.birthessence.co.uk/saying-no-b rains-acronym-hum…/

A New Post is up- practical information and passionate feelings for women who didn't or don't know they can always have choice including the choice to decline suggested treatments. http://www.birthessence.co.uk/i-didnt-kno w-i-could-say-no-…/ This one is inspired by a recent conversation with a pregnant mum to be who had been 'offered' induction as a fait accompli without discussion of other options or taking into account her preferences. An all too common occurence it seems.

Very interesting information on the historial influences on choice of birth place.

I was lucky enough this week to enjoy a massage given by Charlotte. I had a bit of a nightmare journey getting there but by the time I left I was feeling really relaxed and refreshed. If you are thinking of booking a massage I recommend Charlotte. Xx

I had a 1 to 1 session with Charlotte in advance of having my second baby, having had a bad experience first time around. I found that the session really helped me to put to bed the anxiety that I was carrying and the visualisations which Charlotte recommended were a great help in preparing for and going through labour. Highly recommended
