This beautiful little kitten is 12 week old Tiddles, who fell from a sofa and broke his leg. Dr Brian Hogan our orthopaedic surgeon repaired his little leg using two tiny pins. Despite his relaxed appearance keeping him quiet to allow healing after surgery has proved very interesting for his owner! What a beautiful brave boy!😍💖

Dr Simon Gubbins recently had a visit from Stella, an 8 year old Domestic Shorthaired cat who had been absolutely fine first thing in the morning until went out in the garden and came back five minutes later coughing and retching and in some distress. Her owner realised immediately something was wrong and in fact suspected that she had got something stuck in her throat. Dr Gubbins examined Stella and looked into her mouth (as far as you can in a conscious cat) he couldn’t see... anything unusual. However Dr Gubbins has seen plenty of cats with the same symptoms as Stella's to know to investigate further so Stella was hospitalised. She was immediately given a general anaesthetic and then only by lifting up the soft palate at the back of the mouth could Dr Gubbins find a two inch blade of grass which he had to remove with great care to make sure it didn’t break and leave a fragment behind. Cats getting blades of grass stuck at the back of the throat is a regular occurrence in veterinary practice and it is vital that they are attended to immediately. If they are left then as the cat sneezes and snorts often they will drive the little piece of grass into the nasal chambers where it is very hard to remove and causes a lot of discomfort and inflammation. Happily Stella made a full recovery and is back to normal thanks to her very vigilant owner!

This is Reggie who has recently been in to have his ears rechecked following an infection. The infection is almost completely clear which is great news. We couldn’t resist sharing a picture of his fluffy hair do and winning smile! 😍🐾

User

This is Dexter who unfortunately was injured by a dog recently. His injuries included a fractured jaw 😮 but we are glad to say he has made a fantastic recovery and is managing to eat soft food easily. We are also very glad to say he is still pretty relaxed visiting us despite his surgery. What a brave boy!

User

Walter, Jessie & Mortimer are just too adorable not to share! Check out their group picture pose..... do your pets pose for the camera?📸

User

Blacks Puppy Parties are the place to be. A fun, safe environment for pup pals to meet and greet, play games, learn how to socialise and its run by the Blacks nurses who can offer advice on nutrition, training and how to keep your new furbaby in the best possible health. Make sure your puppy gets their name down for the coolest party in town.

User

Our branches are closed today but dont panic our Dudley Hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year!

User

This beautiful little rabbit is Loveheart who recently visited us to be neutered. Cats and dogs have a cannula placed into their leg which gives the vets direct access into a vein allowing them to administer medication and intravenous fluids, with rabbits this is done in the ear. We know how important a rabbits diet is which is why our ward Nurse Amy grows fresh herbs to give to our rabbit and guinea pig patients! Don’t forget if you haven’t yet registered your rabbit or guinea pig with us you can ‘Hop To IT’ to claim your FREE CONSULTATION*! Call your local branch to find out more information.

User

Meet Shay, a beautiful 13 week old Rottweiler puppy who is going to be a very big handsome chap, He's already 15kg! Shay came for his 2nd vaccination recently and we look forward to seeing him again for his 5 month Parvo vaccination. We wonder what he’ll weight then? 💞🐾🐶

User

Lovely Red recently had to visit the Dudley Hospital after swallowing a nail 😯 We performed xrays to locate the nail and then went straight into theatre to surgically remove it. Red was extremely brave and enjoyed all the cuddles off the nurses during her recovery. On discharge she found a new use for her "cone of shame"...a place for her monkey to sit while she waited for a treat.😍🐾💖

User

Rolo is a gorgeous chocolate labradoodle puppy and one of our newest Protect My Pet Club members, he will also be joining us on one of our Puppy Parties. We can’t wait to watch this little one grow up 😍🐶🐾

User

Tommy and Geri are brother and sister Jack Russell terriers who have recently been in to have their teeth checked and cleaned. Tommy (left) is 13 years old and Geri (right) is 15 years old, they are perfect examples of golden oldies, no matter the age of your pet its vital their teeth are kept clean and healthy to prevent any further problems. As you can see Geri has actually had to have both of her eyes removed the first in 2014 and the second in 2016, despite this she still lives a full and happy life thanks to her wonderful family and the support from her brother Tommy, who you can see tried his paw at being a Client and Pet care Adviser before going home! 😍🐾

User

This little furry is Waffle, a 4 year old guinea pig. He has recently undergone surgery to remove a mass, he is doing remarkably well and was very proud to show off his very neat scar during his post op check up! Well done Waffle for being such a brave boy 😍💞

User

Many of you will remember our practice cat Smokey who we decided as he got older he needed a sofa to be curled up on and his own loving family. He certainly found that with our amazing ward nurse Amy. We still get to see Smokey as he stays with us when they are on holiday so he can be spoilt by all the team. He has even received his own postcard from his family!! #cutenessoverload

Yesterday was first time visiting Black Vets in Oldbury branch with my 8 week old kitten for his vaccinations & i was very happy with the service i received. I chose the Pet Starter Package & was given informative helpful information on the plan & even free pet food & a toy for Chase! The receptionist was lovely. The vet & nurse was kind & considerate and helped put my wriggling kitten Chase at ease having his injection, thank goodness for the nurse as he wasnt staying still for me! Black Vets Oldbury is a small but lovely vets! Thank you

User

We wud highly recommended them x they are so caring and devoted to the animals in their care x not only do they care about the animals but also the family of the pet ( family member ) x words cannot express their dedication to both x we all are so lucky when you have a vet you can trust and who cares that deeply x

User

We wouldn't consider any other vet than blacks we have used them since they opened their surgery in Lye unfortunately we lost our Greyhound on 01-08- 17 he could not have had any better treatment, he had a tumour on his lung and two leaking heart valves, Stitch told us when he had, had enough, thanks to everyone at Lye and the cardiologist at Durley we never felt alone, Thanks to Sarah at Lye who had been treating Stitch, and came out with a nurse to send Stitch who was a rescue greyhound on his last journey as he was not in any pain or uncomfortable, it was all done with dignity. Many humans would choose this, it is the last kindness you can do for a loved pet. I think that Black's are top of the list, this was our 4th euthanasia it doesn't get any easier for the owner or the vet. Should we have another dog in the future then we will be going to Black's at Lye your animal could not get better treatment from the reception to the vet and at the end of life. Anita & Alan Braithwaite a big thank you to everyone.

User

We took our dog in 3 weeks ago fearing and expecting the worst. We saw Chris who was so caring, gentle and patient. He gave us great treatment and advice. Gizmo is now back in good health. I have full confidence in the practice. Thank you for truly caring at what was a very traumatic time for us.

User

We have had hard couple of weeks. Firstly our young dog started having seizures. He was admitted into the hospital on the Wednesday evening. We were really worried but the staff were wonderful, giving the dog loads of cuddles and making feel happy leaving him there. When we were able to pick him up the next evening they gave us loads of help and information. One of the receptionists had an epileptic dog and talked to us about living with it. It made us more confident about taking him home and getting back to normal. We then had to take our old dog in this week to be pts. We were taken to a separate room where he was quietly let go. All with minimum fuss, we weren't kept waiting around and were talked through the whole procedure. It made a hard time a bit easier. Can't thank then enough.

User

We have been with blacks vets for years for our cats. We have had some very unlucky puddys over the years, broken jaw, amputated toe, tumour, abcesses, catflu/gingivitis and so on. The care and attention we have received from the reception staff through to the nursing staff and the vets had always been exemplary. I would not use any other vets and would like to thank everyone at vets for everything they do for our cats. We all really appreciate it.

User

Very friendly and helpful staff !

Thank you 😊

User

Very caring vets not just out for your money like some I could name. Emergency treatment for my beautiful 16 yr old Collie cross who suffered a major seizure which led to the heartbreaking decision to have him put to sleep Thank you for the condolences card and for taking care of my best friend

User

Took our puppy for her first injection the staff were friendly & professional and the place was spotless

User

Took my Nan's Poochon Teddy and my Frenchie Rocko For Neutering today, really good service, really friendly staff. From the Receptionists to the Vets and Nurses, everyone was lovely and you could tell they care deeply for your dogs whilst in their care! Everything was made clear, I called and was told both my dogs were well at 1pm, I said could I get them at 6pm, they said no problem! Both dogs were really excited when I picked them up, however Teddy was yelping in pain, they gave him some more pain meds (free of charge) which I thought was even more caring! Would definitely recommend this vets

User

Today I got the all clear from Ellie’s cruciate ligament operation and Dr Hogan is amazing with Ellie and with their owners . The staff are beautiful! I am so very grateful to you all

User

The most caring people ever, so glad we moved to Blacks. The Lye surgery are the most compassionate people and helped us through a very difficult decision last night. Honestly, the love and understanding they showed and the educated and genuine explanation and care shown by the vet, got us through and has helped us as a family. Thank you to him, his lovely Nurse and the reception staff for their compassion......

User

The best vets by far. Black's have always given my dog exceptional care and service whether it's just a six month vet check or a more serious operation. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly while the vets are outstanding. Thankyou for taking such good care of our precious pet.

User

The best pet care around. The staff are professional and friendly. Surgery is clean. Added to the prices being unbeatable.

User

Thank you to all Staff who looked after Our Duke today xx

User

Our puppy Max was treated for Parvovirus at the hospital. It's an amazing hospital and all the staff have been lovely and the communication has been excellent. While unfortunately our puppy Max had to be put to sleep the staff were all so loving and caring through the entire process. Thank you to all the staff (especially Kevin and the nurses who stayed with Max in the isolation ward). We can't express how thankful we are for the amazing care Max received. You helped give Max a chance and when he lost his battle to his illness you made his last moments peaceful and he went with dignity. Thank you so much. We cannot fault the care at all. Every single member of the team helped us so much. Whether this be the vets, nurses, receptionists or finance team. We definitely would recommend this vets to our family and friends because we always knew Max was receiving excellent care and being comforted.

User

Our little fur baby was run over and sadly didn't make it. The most amazing lady who works at Blacks vet's brought him back home to us with a lovely card with his paw print in. Our hearts are broken but this act of kindness has touched us deeply. Thankyou xx

User

One of the best vets around genuine care from John & staff would defo recommend this vets the practice we went was firstly Oldbury then further treatment @ Dudley

User

Myself and my wife would like to thank Blacks for the care and compasion shown during the last few hours of our cat Frodo's life. We rushed him in on Thursday in a great deal of distress breathing. Unfortunatly, despite the hospital's efforts we had to put Frodo to sleep. We cannot thank you enough for showing such care and compassion in the last few moments of his life. Keep up the good work.

User

My pup, Cooper, was hospitalised on Saturday night. Vet Hugh, and the Nurse that was working that night, were amazing. Their treatment was thorough and they were so caring and understanding to Coops and ourselves. Unfortunately, following his release on Sunday, Coop's condition didn't improve as we'd hoped. Following another trip to Black's they diagnosed suspected auto-immune meningitis and referred us to The Willows, where that diagnosis was confirmed. This is a potentially fatal condition, if left undiagnosed, so I'm immensely grateful to Black's for their speedy recognition. I thank my lucky stars that I recently made the decision to change the care of my 4 dogs to Black's as I'm sure that my previous vets would not have diagnosed this condition with the same speed. Today, on the appropriate medication, Cooper is almost back to being my fun-loving puppy. It's been an incredibly challenging week in our household; one with little sleep and even less food due to nursing our very poorly boy who was in so much pain but hopefully, Cooper will now respond to his medication and make a full recovery. I really don't have the words to thank Black's enough! Cooper is the most perfect pup and always has been. He works as a School Reading Dog and has a natural talent for helping children to overcome their fear of dogs due to his ultra-calm nature and irresistible fluffy coat that children just want to touch. Life without him would have been unimaginable! Thank you from the bottom of my heart ️️️. Can't recommend your practice and your staff highly enough. You're my heroes! xxxxx

User

My pup is petrified of the vets x

However busy they were the vet took time to calm him and fuss him and just made it a hell of a lot easier for both of us x

Thank you once again blacks 😘❤️

Love jodie and Louie flavell. X

User

My family have always used Blacks, so i knew when my cat needed an emergency appointment due to being shot with an air rifle this was definitely the place to go. All of the staff have been extremely caring and thoughtful throughout this process and it is quite clear they all care so much about all the animals and their treatment.

Luckily my cat has recovered extremely well, thankyou to everyone at Blacks

User

Love this vets the nurses and receptionists are lovely and treat our little Bella so good I would highly recommend this vets

User

Incredible vets! Helpful and caring staff who really do care for the welfare of your animals. I brought my three pet ducks in on seperate occasions and each time they were treated brilliantly by the vets and staff. For anyone who owns poultry, I would highly recommend this practice. Its an hour journey for us to get to Black vets but I am very happy to travel the distance to this wonderful veterinary practice.

User

I'd never used Black's before, but I called up at 09:00 in the morning for an emergency appointment. My dog had a possible broken toe on back leg, non-weight bearing.

They got me in for 09:30 and were lovely.

Gave my lad some great medication to ease him through it and explained all my options.

Luckily the meds did the trick. :) (it wasn't broken).

My lads also terrified of vets, but they were very gentle and kind to him. - Lye Branch.

User

I would like to thank everyone at blacks vet lye the care and compassion shown to tig and us was so lovely as this very sad time and to receive such a thoughtful card and paw prints made us all so emotional at your kindness.would highly recommend you to everyone thanks again x

User

I would like to thank Black's vets sedgley for all the support you gave us has a family when we had to make an awful decision to let our wonderful well loved dachshund treacle go it was the hardest thing in my life to do but your staff was brilliant giving us a cup of tea and making sure we were ok the card and poem that came this morning touched my heart but it made me feel better thank-you for everything you did for us and treacle as she came to the end of her life I totally recommend you xx

User

I would like to say a very special 'thank you' to nurse Emma and vet Christopher Forde for being on call over the Bank Holiday, when we've needed them twice in the early hours of the morning. Emma and Chris tried in vain for two hours to save one of our 2 week old pups and the next night were there again when 'mum' needed them. From the moment I called the emergency number and spoke to Emma, I received nothing but understanding, support and compassion over our puppy and helpful advice about mum. So, thank you to both for working the Bank Holiday for our pets, when other people were enjoying the sunshine.

User

I took a poorly stray ginger cat to the Dudley one and they was so nice and are gonna keep me informed on how he is

User

I had a very eventful day today! I had a poorly paw and had to spend the day at Vets, I had a little sleep whilst they worked their magic then I got to chill out all afternoon on a big comfy bed with a blanket and cuddly bear AND they had underfloor heating!

Glad to be back home now though, and thankfully daddies took off my cone of shame 🐾

Thank you Blacks Vets for looking after me! See you again on Saturday (maybe i’ll get some treats this visit) ❤️🐶

User

I bring my hamster Sebastian here to get his nails cut, everytime I come the staff are wonderful with him, they sit on the floor to do it because he's a jumper he had his picture taken yesterday for the Facebook page and I'm so excited to see it! I highly recommend this vets! Keep up the brilliant work!

User

I always recommend Blacks vets Dudley to everyone. Such a lovely caring team from reception through to the nurses and vets, especially vet Kevin Oremba who I've seen a lot with my boys and knows how much they mean to me. They do their best from the minute you walk through their doors, keep up the good work guys

User

Highly recommended. My pup got very ill over Christmas and they saved his life they went above and beyond to save my boy, always honest, compassionate and caring.

User

Had to call Blacks friday morning at 9.30 for an emergency call out for my dog who had gone off her back legs. By 1pm Dr Bart was at our house, he was very professional and friendly and seemed unfazed when my dog was growling and snarling at him during the examination. He reassured it was nothing sinister (arthritis in both knees and hips that was particularly sore) and with treatment she's back to her usual grumpy self. Special thanks again to Dr Bart and all the team at lye for Hana's care

User

Been to Blacks Vets over the last 2 days with both my pug puppy Frank and my cat Ella. For frank we went with the puppy pack for £50 which is a bargain for what you get. We took Ella for her vacations as we managed to let them go over so needed to start again

I can not fault this place really pleased they will be looking after Frank and Ella for along time

User

Amazing vets lovely staff receptionist very helpful even saved me money with the advocate deal I have both my collies registered here won't go anywhere else my youngest pup loves coming here for the biscuits lol

User

The service here is good for animals, however they are quite obviously working on some sort of commission/percentage basis as they focus very hard on the money aspect. THEY made a mistake on my payment and since they have hounded me over the phone and not apologized for their mistake. I have been a prompt client for years, and always have the exact same service. I believe they are in the process of evolving from a family vet practice to a more corporate style like vets4pets. Previous to this experience I rated them highly.

User

Was gonna use this vets to get my ferret neutered as they are just up the road from me, that was until they told me it would cost £98.00 for a treatment that's gonna cost me £27.80 at a vets in stourbridge, with a price difference like that I'll be happy traveling a bit further.

User

Just had my best friend die in my arms, hours after being told they had no idea what was wrong with him. Given tablets that just turned out to be torturing him (getting them in him) in his last few hours alive.

Surely a vetinary surgery as accredited as this would be able to tell me that my cat had hours to live.

User
