Anyone applying for my syndicate please take note. When you ask if there’s a waiting list, yes there is, but, it’s not in any particular order. Applying to get in, is like applying for a job, it’s not just given to the first person who sends in their CV, but to the ones who are most suited to the role. My syndicate is no different. I’m letting people into my home to fish for carp I’ve spent 13 hard years looking after. I need people to respect my rules, to be social and help...ful with other members. To pick up litter even if it’s not theirs. To enjoy fishing for what it is, and not just for weights. To be able to appreciate the amazing abundance of wildlife that surrounds you on every trip, and, enjoy your time on the bank whether catching or not, which for some may be quite often. But most of all, I need members to be polite, honest, and respectful of others at all times. So please, feel free to download an application to join. When sending it in, the words ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ will help your cause. Any references from previous clubs or syndicates will also help, and, taking a few minutes of your time to write a little about what it is you want from your fishing, may just be what makes your application successful. It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you’re from, if you’re sponsored or not, have only been fishing a few years or a lifetime, it's more about who you are than what you have caught. For those that do get in, I look forward to meeting you in the future.

Mark Barton had to wait 2 hours for the torrential rain stopped before getting out of his van and setting up, but was duly rewarded with this lovely PB common no less than three hours later. Well done Mark.

Two hours earlier and this stunner would have been a proper snow carp but it had just all melted ! Blakemere's 43rd Fish of the year so far. Top angling Will Tonks.

Massive Congrats to Craig Ridge who came down straight after a night shift arriving at 2am in the rain, then moving swims this morning, only to go on to have 3 takes in a crazy hour, resulting in a new PB of 31.06 with Ivy the common along with a stunning 18lb mirror and one fish lost. Effort =Rewars ringing true once again. Craig put his faith in Essential Baits B5 Salami which he has not blanked on this winter in 8 trips since September. Well Done Craig, everyone's made up for you.

Blakemere Fishery has just joined the ANLRS - The Anglers National Line Recycling Scheme, which means that anyone either visiting or living nearby can bring their disused braid or Mono and place it one of our recycling bins. Mono take over 600 years to degrade in landfill so its an amazing cause. The bins will be up this weekend and positioned by the entrance to car park 1 of the fishery SY13 4JP so anyone can come 24/7 and do your bit for the environment. You can read all about the scheme here https://www.anglers-nlrs.co.uk

Happy New Year folks. Colin Campbell off to a flier with ''Big D'' at 28.09 caught at 4pm today at its highest weight and 3lb up since its last capture in Sept. Awesome start Colin, and follows a great end too as he had 7 and lost one on his last trip just before Christmas. Essential Baits B5 still going strong.

Just a few of the VS Fishery stockies we have had in our stock pond for over a year going into the main Mere last weekend. The 23 of them have settled in nicely with the first one getting caught this morning. They should thrive in the Mere this year coming, we can't wait to see how they progress.

Last Saturday Stephen May ended his four and a half year quest to bank 'Ivy' and at a new PB weight of 31.13 we couldn't be more pleased for him. Top angling Ste.

John Cavadino with The M&M fish from 9pm last night, it's not been out for a year and now at its highest weight of 28.03 was a great reward for enduring the harsh conditions over the last 48 hours well done John.

Well, after a great social BBQ on Sat to mark the re-opening of the syndicate, the mere has fished really well. In fact in the last 7 days, its produced 10 fish with another 4 fish being lost. Three of those fish haven't been caught for over 18months so that's great news too. I think the cooler nights and some fresh rain has done wonders for the lake, and I expect to see catch reports increase over the coming months. Most fish down in weight, which is usual and they should st...art piling on the weight over the next two or three months. Chris Mychalkiw had '3 Scales'at 23.08 from the Reeds swim around midday on Sunday. George Jones-Dobbs had 'Badgers fish' at 19.14 from the Stumps, Andy Remelie had two double before landing 'Shadow Scale' at 25.12 from the Boathouse swim, John Lowry has had 3 and lost two, including a fish known as 'Jabba' at 24.08, an 18lb and a grown on fish of 12lb from the Channel. Joe Ogden had a common of 14.08 from the Moat as well as losing one from the Pads swim the day before. So let's hope it carries on with its current form for a bit longer!

A beautiful place to fish and get lost in tranquillity. The owner takes great pride in his fishery. A very friendly guy with plenty of knowledge about the water.

I will defiantly be returning. Highly recommend. The swims are the best I have seen at a fishery, very spacious and easy to get your pegs in for your bivvy. check this place out if you haven't already.
