We went swimming here today (Sunday) with our daughter Erin, who was really anxious about jumping in the pool on her own and needed a lot of support. She got quite tearful. All of the lifeguards here were absolutely brilliant and really helped out and encouraged her to jump in. The one young lad was especially helpful going out of his way to support her. She eventually managed to summon up the courage to do it and once she had there was no stopping her and she wanted to do it again and again. She has her swimming lesson grading next week and should pass now she can jump in, but this wouldn't be possible without the help of the staff here. They are doing a fantastic job.

User

If u could review any higher than a 5 i most certainly would!

Firstly I want to say how overwhelmed as a family we are at the kindness of the staff here especially Dan, Kelly, Mitch & reception staff. We enrolled our very shy 5yr old daughter onto the 2 week crash swimming course this holiday & she has grown so much in confidence since being around these amazing people. Dan & Kelly certainly made us welcome u guys have given her so much praise, encouragement & confidence it's really touching to see how much she has grown already! Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff they av gone above & beyond to help Ava. We this morning enrolled her on a 10 week swimming course n if she has come this far in a week we cannot wait to see how much she grows in the future Thanks so so much ALL of you guys The Jones Family xx

I went yesterday with my children to the fun session. Children really enjoyed it lots to play with. The older ones went in the big pool and inflatable even though they had few problems with it was still a good afternoon out. I stayed in little pool with younger children and played with all the equipment that was there floats mainly. Only downside was when they had problems with the inflatable the older children came into little pool and started splashing the babies other than that was fun and great for the kids. I be going here every weekend now thank you

User

I love Teresa 's classes on a thursday and friday morning ,she is amazing at her job , I only wish she could do them of an evening aswell.

User

I absolutely love this place, the gym is well equipped the swimming pool is perfect and they have a ton of fitness classes to go to, the instructors are always professional and helpful

User

Lovely place now it's been refurbed, cheap and clean although me and my friend have come back with sore knees and toes from the kiddie pool, felt like we were kneeling on grit, looking back at other reviews a few other people have mentioned the same thing.

User

Having posted below a while back. My daughter had been swapped to a new class having lost alot of confidence from poor teaching but.... she's improved sooo much that I feel credit where credit is due her teacher there is great and she will go on to become a reasonable little swimmer. Thank you for listening to a cross parent.

Would not recommend this Leisure Centre for swimming lessons. Half hour lesson 10 mins before the kids were in pool and only crossed half the tiny pool twice. IT'S MEANT TO BE A SWIMMING LESSON FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE. Too many changes in instructors as well so kids always going back to the start. Very dissatisfied parent.

User

I like going to the gym but have noticed a few things ,there are only two people that ever clean when they are on shift in the gym one was the young girl Monday mornings and the chap on a fri that does a proper good clean . The shower/changing room floors upstairs by gym not very clean and that was at 9 am on a morning and as the gym don't open til 7 am the floors should not be that bad if they had been done at all, Air con very very poor and machines are taking a while to be repaired i.e. The rowing machine broke over a week went in today 2 out of use also the leg press .

User

I bring my 2 children here every Sunday morning. 10am til 11:30am. 2 Year old and 10. Kids love it normally really good. Went this morning and as I was paying I was asked if the big pool was OK as the small pool isn't open as its too cold. I had heard her mention to the girl in front the bigger pool was warmer today. O my god got in and it was way too cold. My eldest was OK. My 2 Year old hated it. You never should of charged full price to let people in. We only stayed in 35mins my 2 Year old cried his eyes up he hated it. Big pool was so over crowded with little one was ridiculous everyone was dithering and moaning how cold it was. Wasn't worth going at all today very disappointed as normally really good.

User

Cancelled membership after nearly 2 years. Equipment good, pool nice. But I have personally found it a struggle to get on equipment as it seems to be busy all the time seems like more people are joining then there are people cancelling, so it doesn't balance out. I also got fed up with the public pool, I could very rarely do laps because there were so many people on an evening, just chatting away in the lanes or on the edges. Started getting frustrated with there being unsupervised kids in there regularly too. I felt like it became very "clicky" recently, made me uncomfortable. Got a better deal at The Village. I'm much happier there all round.

User

Went this morning and my little girl got out to use the toilet my partner stayed in with other 2 children and lifeguard would not let me and my daughter get back in to the pool with other children so had to leave waste on money today was

User

Went for the womens only swim time at 7.30-8.30 and was disappointed and very uncomfortable, it was full of rude women who got in each others way and there was men and boys still messing about jumping and splashing at 7.40. so i felt i couldn't go in, also next to the main pool was a little pool full of kids and lads messing about, i felt so uncomfortable i had to leave after only 20 minutes .. Plus changing rooms were mixed sex and dirty, won't be going back

User

I have been a member since it opened and pay £25 a month. The first time I used the shower I told them it intermittently went from hot to scalding they told me it was a fault with the pressure. I still have a shower every time I use the gym and the water is still the same.

My biggest moan about the place is the staff do not monitor what is going on either upstairs lounge area, or in the gym itself. There are far too many kids just taking up space on the equipment on their phones, or pretending to use the equipment. Why can't the staff sort them out. The place is a fantastic facility, but unless people monitor and maintain it, it will turn into yet another no go area for decent families and individuals.

We asked about a swimming mebership and got shown a £15.00 membership great, gone to sign up and i have to meet a criteria to pay £15.00 all the leaflets that i have been given contradict each other and staff oviously dont know how to explain the memberships to customers 2 times now we have had different leaflets for us to turn up, be given the forms along with another, as we read the other we find out about this criteria, theres no way in hell im going to pay £25 a month knowing the most i will go swimming is once a week twice if im off work

User

So I arrived with my daughter last night at around 6:30pm on my first visit to the centre. It looks lovely on the outside but that's as good as it gets I'm afraid, having walked through the automatic doors expecting a friendly hello by the man behind reception I was sadly mistaken. What can only be described as something from a western film as a Mexican stand off I was expected to make the first move. My first words were 'yes I'm here for a swim with my daughter' followed by a blank stare to then be told sorry mate we're full. Full I said, wow you must be busy, lots of people turned up tonight then etc etc. The response 'no mate its because we haven't got enough staff, feel free to take a seat and wait but I don't know how long you will be waiting. Oh I replied, followed by how much is it for a swim here. I looked into the pool area to see no more than 50 people swimming, what a shame I had to leave without even an apology or goodbye. It would appear from reading previous left reviews that the staff couldn't care less and that was also my impression last night. Proceed at your own risk you have been warned.

User

I was disgusted to hear a member of staff swear under his breath because a child needed assistance. I will not be bringing my children back to this leisure centre. Some of the staff here are rude and would benefit from some training from Oak Park staff who actually enjoy working with people instead of against them.

User

I did previously give the gym 5 stars because it was everything I needed as someone who wants to lose weight. I feel like I have been paying £25 a month for everyday a member of staff to cancel gym classes and there be no staff available to stand in the place of the class? Which is ridiculous. Same as to swimming. I've done a gym class then came to do the 8.30-10pm swimming which is also cancelled as there is also no staff available? So what am I paying £25 a month for?!!? I hate the gym as I feel it doesn't fufill me and I don't get the workout as I would in a class such as Eggy who is a brilliant gym teacher
