Thank you to Joel Corry for celebrating our 10th anniversary...Vegas style!
Never fails to impress, the number one uk expo of its kind and still growing and progressing. Always impresses and full of great events, content, insight, seminars and trade. Lots more planned soon. Would like to see more of the elite bodybuilders there for the next one but I know the ones that didnât turn up this year were out of the companies hands for the most part but even supported old legends including womenâs multiple champ Iris Kyle do shows no drop in loyalty to my beloved sport.
Brings all the facets of the industry together like no other and the best place for meeting likeminded individuals
this was my 10th year at bodypower, 2008 I went as a customer and most years since I have been working in the industry.
It was great to see a lot of the friends I have made in the industry and have a good catch up, some of stands were stunning and some really inspirational athlete's to meet. The only thing I would say is lets have some more bodybuilders there next year please? Kai, Phil, Milos and so on.....
First time at bodypower so can't compare it to past ones. We had paid for VIP tickets and walked past the crowds and got in early ! First person we bumped into was Callum Best who was absolutely lovely!!!! Had my pic with him and chatted to him. It really is huge in there and we spent around 5 hours walking around. Only disappointment was some of the confirmed athletes weren't there....husband very disappointed that Paige wasn't there Saturday!!!! Bodypower should not put supposedly "Confirmed" on promotional material when they had no intention on going....false advertising ! .All the promoters were great...down to earth and chatty. I would go again.
Very disappointed with bodypower.
Been going years apart from shows .that were great .theresonly either protein bars and proteins not much going on.and nobody there none top ifbb pros were there you used come away inspired and with lots bars wed now your lucky to get sme stuck in your teeth the way they cut them up .jokers
This was my 5th consecutive year attending the event & although I personally still had a great time, this was more due to my companions & love of the industry etc.
There is no doubt this was the worst year I have attended, no Ronnie, no Jay, no Phil, no Big Ramy, No Steve Cook, No BSN, no CT, no Bradley Martyn, no myprotein, no sci mx, a tiny crap quest stand, no optimum nutrition, no gym shark, a tiny PhD stand, didnât see Kai although confirmed, and many more missing companies & athletes.
There were to many DJâs, this isnât a party itâs primarily a bodybuilding expo we want top class athletes & a few free supplements. I hope next year the top guys (not Callum Best & Geordie Shore wannabes) will be back otherwise the event will lose its brilliant reputation!
I agree with alot of the negative feedback below, only my 2nd year and if it wasn't for the friends I went with and getting to meet some of the people I came to see I would be rating it 1 star!
I went on Sunday and I got the impression that nobody could be arsed and just wanted to go!
Stands just chucking t-shirts and protein bars out to crowds like they were feeding peasants was pretty downgrading tbh!
Seemed like nothing was organised very well, confirmed athletes not showing up, many brands not there, lack of information on upcoming shows and there whereabouts.
Makes you wonder what the hell the ÂŁ37 standard ticket price was all about!!!!
I'm reluctant to waste my money next year!
Seems like the organisers have become greedy and put money and personal gain before love of the industry and pleasing the fans that pay good money that essentially line their pockets!
This was my 7th year at body power and Iâve never been so disappointed! This was supposed to be the 10th year anniversary, what happened!! Where were all of the big name exhibitors who have always been there? There was no atmosphere at all just loud music everywhere you went with each stands dj trying to compete against each other! We went to some seminars/talks and people didnât bother to turn up to even take them, so unorganised this year. We had VIP tickets but even when the standard ticket peeps came in the place was empty compared to usual! We usually would spend all day in the event but we were finished by 2.30pm and then had to pay to change our flights home, very disappointed and probably wonât be back which is a shame as we always looked forward to attending. And how come Ollie wasnât there ďż˝ it was the 10th year anniversary! Oh and another thing, why was everything vegan!!!
I went to the very first show which in comparison was small, low key but far more inspiring than the show of today. Itâs lost itâs identity and what on earth were all the Las Vegas signs about! Surely itâs a British show held in the U.K. to welcome guests from other nations, why try to be something else. Itâs a great platform for smaller independent suppliers to market themselves no doubt paying highly for it, but where were the larger suppliers.......disappointing! Iâm relieved that I didnât buy anything more than a standard ticket, having read other reviews I would be even more peeved. Came back with a complimentary footasylum sponsored BodyPower carrier bag, thatâs all, just something more for the bin men to collect on Monday I guess. Shanât be going again.
Have gone every year since 2013, and this year was by far the worst! No idea why it was âVegas themedâ the only bit that was Vegas themed were the terrible props in the walkways other than that there was nothing! Ticket prices were at a high which I wouldnât mind if: there were big brands there as it seemed a lot werenât there, the athletes who were advertised actually showed up as Kai green was meant to be there yet he wasnât, and they put more thought into how many people should be allowed in, it gets silly busy with no thought of queues for the athletes. I paid ÂŁ20 less a few years back and the day couldnât have been better! Yet this year I pay more for what seemed like half an expo! A real shame
Been bodypower today for 4th year in a row and was worst one I've been to if I'm honest. Yes it was busy but also was just masses of people forming ques all round the arena just for a free tshirt and protein sample or meet someone as they there just for a few hours. Loads of big brands wasn't there either just brands never heard of and when ask for a sample of their stuff they didnt have any and wanted you to pay over the odds for a brand you never heard of. Also the big names that was aupposed to be there didnt see any except Thor, Terry hollands and Ryan terry. Everyone else just looked like a regular gym goer. It was a big show and busy but disappointed and not worth the money this year
have been every year except last three, what a difference, poor reflection of what it was, It may have started with bodybuilding but it grew into other sports boxing, Martial arts, rugby, it had something for everyone, not anymore. the first year I came away with ÂŁ190 of samples, T-shirts, shakers, the next year ÂŁ130, then ÂŁ80, this year ÂŁ5, not that its about getting something for nothing that is just a reflection of how the companies have to operate in hard times, the show should be about the public getting inspired, trying the latest products, getting information, being able to ask the industries "finest" questions. I have been to several big events at the NEC this year the most expensive being ÂŁ20 how is it the prices for bodypower have ballooned so much. If a photographic show or a craft show can have just as big a show at a fraction of the cost with less punters attending why is the cost so high? pay VIP and you may be treated less like cattle for the first 90 minutes, and you will get a bunch of stuff you will discard when home. On friday duly took my seat to listen to DY only to be told he could not be bothered to attend his own talk. Even DY is tired of this uninspired mess of a show. Like the bellies of the bloated bodybuilders of today has this show lost all attraction
This years event was an absolute joke. Wasn't worth the trip as many of the top athletes that were confirmed weren't even there! They have been advertising this as the biggest bodypower yet with it being the 10 year anniversary and it was the worst one I've been to by a mile. Bodypower is slowly year by year going from bodybuilding to fitness/crossfit instagram models! Hardly any big name brands there aswell and oh as for supposedly having a vegas theme to it, putting a few plastic palm trees and Las Vegas signs in random aisles was laughable. It was like they completely forgot about it and told someone half hour before the event to go and grab a load of random shit to put everywhere. I think this is the last bodypower I will be attending. Would rather save little bit more money and go to fibo!
This was my 8th year at Bodypower. It used to be my favourite weekend of the year and now it was a complete waste of not only a day but a return flight from Glasgow.
In previous years weâve filled 3 full days there going to seminars and chatting to athletes etc. This year it got to 2.30pm on the Friday and we were done! What happened to Jay Cutler, Phil Heath, Ronnie Coleman and DLB?? What used to be the most motivating and inspiring weekend of the year is quite the opposite now. Instagram stars flogging clothes and DJs battling each other to be the loudest?? Never again!
Really disappointing this year. I came last year and enjoyed it waited for ages to meet rich piano but still left feeling good but this year was just a waste of money. Poorly organized, hardly any big names, not letting anyone know that athletes had pulled out. I flew from Ireland to see Kai green but there was no information on when he would arrive. Left very disappointed, and the amount of random people at stands that were off their heads on coke was probably the most entertaining part of the day. Did get a good deal on supplements but I can do that online. Definitely will not be attending again.
My first ever Body Power was amazing ... So much atmosphere, freebies, big brands/athletes actually there - loved it!
The last 3 years not so much it's gradually got worse and worse.
This year was a joke ... There were several talks I wanted to go to but didn't know where anything was, a lot of big brands/athletes not there either.
The only way to find out where anything was was to buy the book ... What??!
The tickets aren't exactly cheap why are you ripping us off even more?
To say this was supposed to be the 10yr anniversary ... Not impressed - no wow factor/atmosphere, effort been put in to make it memorable.
I won't be attending again! ďż˝
Iâve been to BodyPower for the past 5 years and this year was truly shockingly poor...
The general consensus from the people I spoke to, include exhibitors, was that not enough effort was put in by the organisers. The cost of tickets went up but there was very little value for money.
If this was a school report it would read must try harder....
Saying that the PCA show was top notchđ
Goodness. Where to start? What an absolute shambles! My first impression on the Saturday was that the Trade expo was dire! I can not understand why that area could not have been combined with the main expo, the trade section barely got a look in despite being guarded like Fort Knox!
The rest of the main expo was so poorly organised and signposted. No signs up showing a floor map, seminar schedule, show schedule, nothing. From the minute we walked in, we just had to wing it. Massively disappointing as we missed every seminar but one, which we literally stumbled across half way through, but would never have known it was there unless we had gone that way to get away from the obnoxious microphone shouting and dj noise in neighbouring stalls (which also meant we could barely hear said seminar!). Why on earth was nothing signposted and no schedules or timings advertised anywhere?
Two examples of the shoddy setup that particularly stick out for me are these:
Firstly - had we known that the SAS team would only be there on the Saturday, we would have met then on the Saturday, rather than waiting for the Sunday to find they had vanished into thin air (despite being directed to where they should have been by a BodyPower Team member who should have known that they were no longer there!) and
Secondly - Strongman! I completely missed them on Saturday and only by chance found them on Sunday as I heard the clanging of the caged weights when they were doing their reps. They were in the furthest corner of the expo under a dark tent canopy, completely in the dark, with a tiny sign hidden away that I didnât see until I was right on top of it. We caught 5min of their show before they called it a day. Gutted!
If you wanted food, and didnât mind being choked by the smell of burnt meat and slightly nauseating cheese all day whilst raving to sixteen different dance tunes at the same tome as you were being obnoxiously shouted at by 8 different people with microphones, dodging flying wristbands and the occasional protein bar whilst people âscream as loud as they canâ for a free wristband, then the expo was probably perfect for you. It should have been called the fitness food and DJ expo, because thatâs what it was, more than anything.
All in all my impression was that we were dumped in a hall and left to get on with it. A completely underwhelming experience, and not one that I will be repeating next year.
First and last time going to BodyPower. I was primarily there to support an Athlete in the PCA show, however from wandering around it seems that the Expo is more interested in reality TV stars and insta famous people who quite frankly are clueless when it comes to Health & Fitness. They specialise in taking a #humpday selfie!
And even more ridiculous was that some of these nobody's in the industry were given a platform to speak!
And not to mention the out of order, petulant behaviour of one Aaron Lambo, who quite frankly is a disgrace in the industry, offers nothing to it and cannot even explain his own products and what they do. Then to throw a microphone into the crowd when he threw a little strop just shows his lack of class, as well as the lack of class on BodyPower's part for not only inviting him there but to claim he was one of their "legends".......Seriously BodyPower?
You need to up your game and get the real pioneers and legends of the industry back or you won't see another decade thats for sure
Extremely disappointing show, I may have been spoilt at Dubai muscle show last year but was keeping an open mind, but when youâre posting confirmed athletes for months before the show such as Eddie Hall, Kai Greene, Ronnie Coleman etc and this is what people buy the tickets for, then you get there and they arenât there itâs well and truly out of order!!!!
We made the most of it, meeting Iris Kyle was the highlight for me, but again hours of queues to see âreality starsâ yet you didnât even advertise that 10x Ms Olympia was going to be there!....really bad show, and wonât be returning!!
Monday motivation...
