Greatest Collie Disasters of Our Time

User

We’re so grateful to the Border Collie Trust GB for their help during the most heartbreaking decision of re homing our much loved collie, Lola.

We was reassured we were doing the best thing for both our Dogs.

Not only did staff have time to discuss the issues, they had the knowledge to advise correctly & in a caring manner.

Upon our arrival at the Trust, we were greeted by the friendly staff and given time to say our goodbyes. Nothing felt rushed or like too much trouble.

They made an unbearable decision a little easier.

Lola was in their care for 3 nights and has now gone to her new family. We miss her terribly and nothing will be the same without our mad Collie but to know she’s safe and cared for helps a lot. I trust they made the right choice for Lola and her needs.

Thank you for everything & also to her new family. I hope you get as much fun, laughter & love as we did it’s impossible to not love her in return

She’s a very special girl x

We visited the Trust on Saturday with the aim of adopting an older dog however our boys did not get on with this lovely boy. We did come home with Meg an adorable 17 week old Border Collie. The puppy training begins. The lady we dealt with was wonderful and a great ambassador for these beautiful dogs. It was an exceptionally busy day but everyone was made to feel welcome. A great place doing superb work.

We visited the Trust on Saturday and met Shep. The staff were fantastic so kind and helpful and clearly so devoted to the dogs in their care. They talked us through everything about adopting him and we are pleased to say that he came home with us and has settled in really well. Collie hugs all round this morning. I cant speak highly enough of the Trust they have such a thorough knowledge of Collies and their issues & really want to see them placed in the right homes.

We visited on a snowy Sunday morning last month to see Belle. We have to say that she has settled in very well with our family and is now one of us . Our son was wary of dogs and now he'll play tug of war with her and blow raspberries. On his way out of the door each day, he tells her that he loves her. We found the staff at the border collie trust so welcoming, and full of great advice specific to collies not just general dogs. We just love her and we think that she loves it here too

Thank you so much for matching us with Bryn, he's an absolute delight. You do an amazing job. 10/10 for everything.

Thank you for all you do for the dogs... 12 years ago I adopted a 6 month old border collie... her name is maddie and she is so precious to me... I fell in love with the breed and have learned so much about them. I am looking to adopt another one but having a hard time finding one in the states. If you have any good connections with any good border collie rescues in or near California, please let me know. I can't imagine my life without Maddie, but would still love to give another border collie a great home.

Staff were excellent. We are so happy with our beautiful Arthur Lloyd.

Such a worthy cause and so many beautiful dogs placed in loving homes.

Thank god for people who care enough. Well done to all at BCT

Spoke to the most understanding man today in a very lengthy phone call. He made me understand my dog, and his needs, when I was all about ready to give up on him! Thankyou so much xx

Sadly we had to rehome our beautiful girl but the staff at the Trust were helpful and supportive

My other half and I recently aqcuired a puppy from The Border Collie Trust. We have been very happy with our gorgeous Bertie, and I felt extremely looked after and supported by all at the trust. We especially appreciated the followup phonecall to see how Bertie was getting on, and the letter a few weeks after. The Border Collie Trust look after their dogs very well, and have much love and care for them. I definitely recommend their service, and will continue to support them.

Last year we got Molly, our B&W border collie from you... she settled in quickly and has become a much loved member of our home thank you x

It was with a very heavy heart that we had to re-home my Uncle’s Dog. My Uncle passed away 23rd December 2017. The family wanted to offer Dylan the best chance of finding a suitable home. Following a conversation with the Border Collie Trust it was decided that the kindest thing for Dylan was to offer him up for adoption. The staff exercised extreme professionalism, a non-judgemental approach and great compassion. Thank you for supporting Dylan and the family at this difficult time. Wishing you the very best of health and happiness. Kindest Regards x

I love border collie. I’ve got one Molly she is 13 this year. Getting older but loves playing with her tennis ball. Plays with my our grand children with football playing goalie. Loves the children in the our culdesac who don’t understand how she is so good but I always tell them if you have a dog you must train them from tiny puppy.

They know she intelligent.

I got my collie (Charlie) from the BCT in 2007 , he is the best dog .we love him very much, the BCT is a great place and they do brilliant work

User

I cannot recommend this charity enough - compassionate and caring. If you have the time and patience to offer a home and train a new family member, then they will help you and support you to the full.

User

I acquired my second dog (Spot) from them on 5th May. First (Sailor) being in 2006. Spot is a lovely dog and is settling in very well. Thanks BCTGB

Eighteen years ago we adopted a 9 week old Blue Merle Border Collie from Rugeley Border Collie Trust. She was called Bonnie but we called her Fern. She was a wonderful dog for us and we loved her very much and she loved us too. We had to send her over the Rainbow Bridge last November when she was nearly 18 but unfortunately she had many health problems. We miss her so much. We would love to adopt another Border Collie but not quite ready yet and we are elderly now and that holds us back too. We may decide all of a sudden to do it again and I hope we do. Thank you Rugely for such an amazing, wonderful and faithful companion for nearly 18 years.
