Bromyard Speed Festival Description

Bromyard Speed Festival (BSF) is a street motoring event to be held for the second time in the centre of Bromyard on Sunday April 1st 2017.

The festival is designed to be a celebration of the rich motoring history in and around the Bromyard area and the event focuses on Bromyard as the birthplace of the Morgan motor car.

The event will appeal to both participants who wish to display their vehicles as well as the general public who will be able to spectate from around the circuit. The event will stimulate interest in Bromyard’s great motoring heritage within the public and local schools as well as providing a significant boost to the local economy.

It is anticipated that up to 5000 people may wish to attend and an additional 300 participants and event volunteers and organisers will be involved on the day. The event is to be organised by Bromyard Speed Festival CIC, a not for profit Community Interest Company where any profits generated are retained to fund future events and any surpluses distributed to local charities.

The format of the event is to invite around 100 historic, vintage and public interest vehicles relevant to Bromyard to attend a street parade through the town centre. This will require closure of the main high street in Bromyard. The adjoining back street (Rowberry Street) will also to be closed to traffic and used as the return to start for the participant vehicles to form a continuous circuit.

Participating vehicles will be held in paddock areas close to the street circuit and divided into around 8-10 classes of vehicles. Each class of 10 -12 vehicles will drive around the circuit for a period of 15 – 20 minutes with a leading pace car used to determine safe circuit speeds.
