With this much historically gained expertise, why choose anything else? World class, cold forged barrels, match grade triggers, beautifully crafted Italian stocks and supreme reliability across the range...

BSA, just keep up the good work...

User

Sold my weihrauch HW100KT and bought a R10 SE .22 the BSA is far better.

User

Just bought the Ultra SE Tactical wow first time shooting it, after zeroing, 10 pellets within a 5 pence circle, only down side ,very easy to double load.

User

I've had my BSA Hornet carbine. 22 for well over 10 years and never had a problem. I've fired 1000's of pellets down it and it's never let me down. Only thing now is I'm getting the R10 SE so will have a tough decision to make which one to take out on the permissions.

User

I'd just like to says big thank you to Andrew at bsa and the gunsmith who sorted the leak out on Friday when I waited excellant service guys thank you

User

I own both an Ultra SE and an R10 Mk2. I had a fault with the r10 fill valve that was sorted in 4 days. Both rifles are way more accurate than I imagined and out perform my ability. Just looking at adding a Goldstar SE to the collection for FT.

User

I own an ultra se and xl tactical, both are superbly accurate and gives you confidence in shooting,I'd recommend them to anyone.

User

I haven't bought from them yet but the staff they have working for them are great. I'd recommend them just from how i'd been treated via email. Hayley Stokes was very helpful and friendly. I'm looking forward to seeing and trying everything at the NEC. Thanks again Hayley.

I have a 1965 BSA AIRSPORTER, and the old girl shoots as good as the dday she left the factory, almost 51 years ago!

User

I had a problem with my first gamo maxxim elite .22 so the rifle was sent back to you guys...and after you told me you couldnt figure out what was wrong with it, i lost all faith in gamo! you sent a new rifle and i was told by the gunsmith he would make sure its perfect...and DAMM he wernt lying...its AMAZING!

Its so crisp and smooth its just a joy to shoot!

I dont know what your name is sir but i thank you!

User

Couple of problems with my new r10 sorted out straight away very good customer service

User

Hello everyone,

I've just used my brand new .22 Lightning XL SE GRT for the first time and I'm a little bit worried, I have got some H&N Barracudas and prometheus pellets, at the moment I'm only shooting from 50ft but the pellets are flying all over the place! I know that the gun is new but at the moment I have my scope (Hawke Advantage 4-16x50 AO IR), elevation all the way up and it's still shooting 2-3inch low, it's also dieseling quite badly with the Baracudas! How many shots, roughly, before I consider the rifle bedded in and has anyone else got any suggestions for pellets that might suit the gun better.

Regards,

Neil Chalpkin.

First off, I've owned 4 BSA airguns in my 10 years of shooting. All are brilliant visually and usually operate as they are supposed to. Customer services used to be amazing and their turnaround on issues was second to none.

My original Meteor had issues with power. A huge kick kept moving a scope, caused by the gun being overpower, which after a lot of messing about resulted in a free upgrade to my second rifle, a Lightning Carbine. No faults with the second gun.

I have a BSA Mercury MK1 dating from 1973. No faults at all, perfect and brilliant engineering.

The last gun, which is my newest, is the reason I'm posting this.

BSA Ultra SE. I've owned it for 3 months, and for the last month it's been at BSA having a leak fixed and a new bolt put in. Now, I understand sometimes things go wrong, and sometimes there's a queue to get things fixed, but a month? Really?!

Well anyway, I got it back this morning. And it's going straight back. The barrels positioned in such a way that the magazine doesn't fit. This has cost me fuel, time, and more importantly it's damaged my confidence in the product and manufacturer.

I was planning on buying my wife an Ultra too as she loves shooting, but I'm going to have to give this thought some consideration. I don't want to leave the brand as its been exceptionally good in the past, but this deterioration in both quality control and customer services that is evident across forums and reviews cannot be ignored.

I can't say I wouldn't recommend BSA to my friends and family, but equally I don't think I would recommend either.

For now at least.

what do i think of bsa guns? i just bought an r10, and find thats a hard question to answer. im inclined to say disappointing, because, the concept, design are solid and well thought through. the problem lies in the manufacturing and quality of the parts used to make the thing. here you have a rifle that costs RRP 780 of my great British pounds. For that sort of money, you'd expect something on the level with air arms s510, or the ultimate sporter, daystate regal, something thereabouts in price. instead what you get is a myriad of easily spotted manufacturing errors, and cut corners that ultimately ruins this rifle, and in turn, as this is the flagship of BSA, the brand.

my first and biggest disappointment on the new r10 mk2, is the extremely poor finish evident along the barrel shroud, and into the breach block assembly. it looks like someone gave it a rubdown with some budget sandpaper, and for a RRP of 780, you shouldn't have to consider replacing parts right off the shelf, or refinishing the parts yourself before you even get to shoot the thing. this evidently is not a problem that effects every rifle. i know this because this is the second r10 i have owned, the first piece being an example of factory produced perfection. perfect in every way, i was a fool to get rid of my original r10.

lose fitting magazines even when locked in, and faulty seals/air leaks from the bottle, all add up to tarnish the reputation of what should be the ultimate BSA rifle. ive owned my gun for a grand total of 9 days, and in those 9 days, parcel force have handled it more than i have as it had to go back to the factory to be repaired after firing 10 shots. because of all this, i will not be keeping my BSA R10mk2. i will be sending it to john bowkett, so that he can make it the work of art that it clearly was designed to be, and when i get it back, i wont consider it a BSA. if anyone asks what i shoot, ill tell them, "i shoot a john bowkett R10 mk2" i know this CAN be one of the best guns in the market. the question i ask BSA is, why isnt it. £780 RRP is a lot to ask for a gun that needs another £160 minimum to make it what it should be straight from the factory.

please BSA get your act together and get some half decent quality controllers. remember, you represent one of a few of supposedly best gun makers in England and your letting the side down.

Sent an email & fbm with basic enquiries so I can make the right decision about a potential gun purchase. No reply to either!

Doesn't give me much confidence in the brand!

In my third week of owning a grt lightning xl se , came with no operators manual/warranty in the box , and no sling studs fitted to the stock , emailed them five times now still no further forward , feeling ignored , owned bsa guns for 11 years now , very disapointed expected better : (

User

I have had 3 bsa r10 mk2 se's and all fire 180 rather than 250 shots both me and my father have counted out pellets and sat there shooting and writing down how many shots and have both got 180 or less. One of these rifles has been "fixed" by bsa I tried to contact bsa and sent them an email last week and have been ignored all i want is some answers how they can fail theyre promises so badly if it wasnt for this i would be giving a 5 star review as the gun is insanely accurate and brilliant in any every other way!!
