About Byecross Farm Campsite

Byecross farm is located in the Golden Valley. Between Hay-On-Wye and Hereford. Situated next to the river Wye

Byecross Farm Campsite Description

Byecross Farm Campsite is ran by the Fenn Family Tony, Sharon & Ollie. The campsite itself is an old fashion apple orchard sitting along side the river Wye. Excellent for canoeists with our easy access on and off the river. We have excellent toilet and shower facilities. We allow camp fires and sell local kiln dried wood from "Certainly wood". Local ale from "Wye Valley Brewery" and Hereford cider from "Dunkertons Cider" from Pembridge and "Pips Cider" from Dorstone. Along with a small shop.

Great idea.....

You cannot beat camping in an apple orchard beside the River Wye with facilities to land and launch your canoe.

User

Very impressed how this campsite is run. Clean everywhere, a well stcked shop and cafe should you decide that you don't want to or can't cok. The lovely river nearby also has a great canoe/paddling company tnat are very nice, helpful. Everything ois reasonably priced too when in fact you are captive audience with nothing in the way of shops for not much more than 10 miles away! Recommend to anyone and will be back.

Just spent a lovely weekend here with great friends. The welcome from all the staff was fantastic and they manage to offer something for everyone. Warm and personal service on one of the busiest weekend of the year! Wonderful little shop offering everything you need(lots of cider and beer). Great to be able to sit around a proper camp fire looking at the stars eating fish and chips and drinking cider!

It was my Kids (2 and 8 months) first camping experience and could not have been better! Will definitely be back!

Fabulous weekend at Byecross Farm. Relaxing, unregimented, and no oppressive rules and regulations. The team who run it are really friendly, and when I realised I'd forgotten to bring cooking oil with me, gave me some. You can buy firewood for open fires or stoves, and beers and basic provisions in the shop. There's a decent pub about a mile down the road, and if you're into canoeing there's access to the river. The site has a couple of yurts for hire, and I was really pleased to see that where families had kids, nobody had a problem with small groups of short feral warriors running around with spears. They looked like they were all having a brilliant time. A complete contrast to the sort of site where people sit in their "units", exactly six metres away from eachother, bathed in the ghostly blue light of their TV sets. We will be back, and we will be recommending it to friends.

Brilliant campsite. Staff were friendly and really easy going we had originally only booked in for 1 night but it wasn't an issue when we booked the second night. We booked as a large group and they were very accommodating. They did a hog roast on the Sunday night which sold out (fortunately we had the last tickets) which was deliscious.

User

Beautiful location, very peaceful and quiet which was just what we wanted. If you're looking for a party campsite this is not it. It wasn't a problem that we were a big group we just pitched up in the furthest field, had the best views, just a trek to the toilets! Only thing that was missing was a hand dryer/towels..

Really great friendly staff that take pride in keeping the site clean . Highly recommend for a chilled out stay.

Awesome campsite facilities and very friendly staff. It is set in a stunning location with an array of wonderful wildlife. Camping in an orchard next to the River Wye is perfect. Fabulous access for kayaking. A fabulous dog friendly site and the option of open camp fires is a big plus for us.

A large group of us really enjoyed our second time at Byecross Farm and stayed for 4 days. We will definitely be back next year for our 3rd holiday.

Thanks again for a happy and memorable holiday xx

A campsite as campsites should be, campfires, excellent facilities and a great buzzing atmosphere. Directly on the river so brilliant for launching kayaks and paddleboards. Amazing range of organic and flavoured ciders for sale and a guy comes on Sat night and makes lovely homemade pizzas. Brilliant weekend, thank you, we'll be back! xx
