When you’re caring for someone you love it isn’t always easy to ask for help. But the right support could make things a little easier. https://bit.ly/2WAqpe0

Carers often struggle to find time for socialising and can lose touch with friends. Help them stay connected by offering to visit them, or arranging a day out that would also be suitable for the person they care for. https://bit.ly/2WAqpe0

4 reasons why #CarersWeek should matter to all of us: Each year Carers Week aims to raise awareness of the role that carers play and the challenges they face. And that should matter to all of us because: 1. 3 in 5 of us will become a carer at some point in our lives 2. 6000 people become a carer everyday in the UK alone. It’s likely that one or more of your colleagues or friends is a carer 3. Caring will affect us all whether we become a carer, receive care or need to support... someone who is a carer 4. The unpaid work that carers do helps to strengthen our public health and care services, benefiting all of us one way or another https://bit.ly/2WBN4Xd

Work overload is one of the top causes of workplace stress. But lots of us struggle to push back when we’re asked to take on more. Here are a few ways to say “no” effectively.
1. ‘I don’t have time today but I could make sometime next week/next month.’ 2. ‘I have a full day of work booked today, perhaps there’s someone else in the team that could help?’ 3. ‘I can’t attend the meeting because I have a lot of deadlines this week so I have no time.’
