Try it you wonŌĆÖt be disappointed

Thursday 12th July around 8:30pm - arrived at Charleys - after driving past it on the way home earlier that afternoon. 3 of us came to dine from Coventry and were not disappointed at all.



I had the

Charleys Crafted Burger ┬Ż6.75

Charleys famous square 5oz Beef Pattie, Beef Rasher, Cheese sauce, Gherkins, Beef Tomato and Baby Gem Lettuce.

┬Ż6.75 with an Egg ┬Ż1.00 (adding ┬Ż1 for an egg is a bit much - I'd say 50p MAX)



You can make it a meal for an Extra ┬Ż2 or upgrade to Super Fries for an additional ┬Ż2 -



I upgraded to SuperFries and had

Lobster Fries - (┬Ż4.50)

Spicy Shellfish Bisque with Atlantic Shrimps poured over French Fries.



So far I've spent ┬Ż7.75 on a burger + Superfries Meal ┬Ż4.00 = ┬Ż11.75 not including any sides or starters



We also ordered the following sides -



Buffalo & Ranch Wings ┬Ż4.25

Nachos & Pulled Beef - ┬Ż4.25



Lets Start with the Wings - of which there were 5 - nice, soft, moist and juicy wings that needed to be grilled to give them some crispness to add some texture. But otherwise very nice. The sauce was delicious. Just not enough wings - i recon 6-7 wings in a portion would be sufficient.



Next Up - The Nachos - again the biggest criticism is the portion size - Nachos are something which you naturally share - and there was barely enough for 1 never mind 3 hungry lads. The nachos themselves were nice and the toppings of pulled beef and cheese was fabulous.



Now for the main event ----



The Crafted Burger - Easily the best burger ive had in Birmingham and almost as good as a Juicy Lucy Burger from Grizzlers (Leicester) which is Still No.1.



The Cook of the burger was spot on - good size and it held together well. Tasted delicious and with the addition of a fried runny egg, elevated the experience greatly.



The highlight and surprise of the night was easily for me the Lobster Fries. Just divine - great big chunky fries with the sides scooped out to hold the delicious bisque sauce with shrimps. I couldn't get enough of them as they tasted soo good. Again the portion size could be a little bigger and definitely needs more of the delicious sauce poured all over them. Id come back just for these fries but at ┬Ż4.50 a pop its a bit steep when a bag of chips and curry sauce can be had for a few quid.



The service and cleanliness was top notch too.



Would we come back ? The answer is an emphatic YES.



I do hope they take note of these comments as the little improvements will ensure my future custom - coming from Coventry to eat we have a vast choice and this place is hitting all the right notes.

The Spag Bol sandwich is unreal! I had it with the lobster fries, also really tasty. Burger was nice and the chorizo fries were also lush.



We also had the wings which at ┬Ż4.25 for 4 is quite steep but they were also very tasty!

So after coming across this little place while i was in birmingham i thought id try out the burgers with attitude.....im a big gourmet fan and love it when i see a diff type of menu, after visiting places like iceberg in preston, bison in leeds and boo burgers in leicester, which are my top 3, i walked into this place optimistic with the colour combinations used, was greeted and served with a smile, ordered quite a few diff selections of the menu for my party of 4 and was incredibly pleased when i receieved my food. Portion sizes were more than enuf and more than what am used to compared to other places, the meat tasted incredably fresh and the ambience of the place was perfect, not quiet but not too noisy either. Would i go again? Ive already planned my next trip? Was the price too expensive? Not in comparison to other places i go to

All in all i give it 5 stars and its now number 1 on my list of places for gourmet burgers. Burgers with attiude? Rightly so i say

Awesome burgers that are good sized portions! Flavours are different from other burger places in Birmingham! Havent tasted anything like them. Plus you can get a burger fries and drink for under ┬Ż10! Excellent customer service and great decor! Definitely recommend!

Positives - fast friendly service with smiles. Nice clean restaurant. Game on all tables - noughts & crosses - great idea for kids while waiting for food.

Cheesy chips - with skins still on, perfect mmmmm yummy, very tasty.

Fantastic place for a quick tea. Great service and even better food. I can highly recommend the Farmers Stack and the Lobster fries. Definitely tops 5 Guys and Handmade for value for money. I will definitely be back.

Burgers were good. Place needs proper ventilation I think but it's new so they'll figure it out I'm sure. The portion of fries that come with a burger were very small as were the starters. Especially for the price. ┬Ż5 for nachos which are enough for a single person? I'd recommend getting starters for each individual person or just going straight to the mains. Place looked nice, clean.

great food was the review i put to get the discount of ┬Ż6. I needed the discount as i didnt want to spend my hard earned money. I ordered the philly cheese steak. I asked for no mushrooms but it came with more mushrooms than meat. the chips were 4.50 but came with a sliced pepperoni slice. full of smoke, tiny portions and drinks came straightaway even though we requested them with the food.

Nothing special! Just another burger shop trying too hard. Went there didnŌĆÖt have the menu and the waitress donŌĆÖt really have any manners. Go elsewhere
