Cinque Ports Mobility Limited Description

Cinque Ports Mobility Ltd is a family owned and run business with over 20 years service in the wheelchair and mobility industry. We are approved dealers for the majority of mobility equipment manufacturers and our staff regularly attend training courses and seminars held by them.

The company is a member of the British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) and was a founder member of the BSTA precursor of the BHTA and an NHS approved supplier.

Today we continue to offer a friendly, professional and caring service, specialising in manual wheelchairs, electric scooters, power chairs, Rise and Recline Armchairs and Daily Living Aids.

We are also proud to say that we are "Elite Dealers" for Sunrise Medical products.

Good morning - Chris Cox here. This is Covid-19 update 2.
Firstly, a big thank you to all of our customers, friends of the company and personal friends who have been in touch to support us. As you can imagine our company, like so many others, has had to rapidly adjust to the circumstances and with it we've faced some new challenges but also some really rewarding work.
Demand for beds, pressure mattresses, pressure cushions and stairlift installations has increased. Alongsid...e this requests for help from customers who have broken down, have punctures or need replacement batteries has been keeping us busy. I'm pleased to say so far that all requests for help have been from people observing the government advice but who have been relying on their mobility product to help themselves, or others(!), to access medicines and food. Chris and Pete have been diligently observing 2m rules at all times and sterilising equipment prior to and following our interventions.
As a company we are only responding to work which is essential. This now includes any provision of services or equipment that enables swift discharge from hospital and currently we're able to offer next day, or sometimes SAME DAY, installation of stairlifts! (Subject to suppliers availability but so far so good!) Email us at info@cinqueportsmobility.com with the subject 'Urgent Stairlift' so we can prioritise these.
Beds and pressure mattresses are in short supply around the country but for the next urgent case they'll be getting our demo bed until we can secure additional guaranteed supply.
We've also identified two additional rise recliners in our showroom that we'll give to urgent cases and will make the majority of our wheelchair fleet available too at no ongoing cost.
We've got a van that's sitting idle at the moment and this will be used for the NHS GoodSam responders in Folkestone for the delivery of medicines and food to homes, or for the transit of medical equipment between or to hospitals. We're just waiting for the nod from the local government and for DBS checks to be completed.
We've always said we work for our community and this is where our actions speak louder than our words. If you or a loved one requires urgent assistance with a mobility problem please ring 01303 850760 or email info@cinqueportsmobility.com.
For those living in Folkestone, Dover, Canterbury, the Weald, Maidstone, Sittingbourne or anywhere in between please share this to let others know we're still mobile and able to help in any way we can. Money should not be an object. For those who can it is a £49 callout. For those who cant, it's whatever you can contribute to keep us running.
Thanks again everyone! #Folkestone #Dover #Canterbury #Tenterden #Maidstone #Sittingbourne

Good afternoon all, Chris Cox here. This is a Covid-19 update to explain how we're responding as a company to the advice from the government and requests for service from our customers.
Our stance as a company is to be socially responsible and financially sustainable. This is a core value of ours which hasn't changed for nearly three decades of operations. To you, our customers, this means we provide a good value service which results in you not overpaying for goods and servi...ces, while ensuring we'll still be there tomorrow to pick up the phone.
The challenges of Covid-19 are various, and we are being affected like many other companies are with a drop in revenue. We are however eligible for government support and will be applying for assistance in the coming weeks. There is no risk to the company and its ongoing viability.
The government and its scientific advisers are strongly recommending social contact is limited or stopped completely. With this in mind all of the services we provide that are non-essential are being reduced or stopped. An essential service is "one that if not provided would render that person at increased risk of harm through loss of independence/ mobility."
Where possible we are still providing an urgent repairs service but will be making collections and deliveries without interaction. Products will be left at the door to reduce exposure to individuals and our staff members.
As part of our socially responsible measures we will be offering a van and driver to the local government which can be re-purposed to assist in essential deliveries if required. This won't affect our ability to respond to service calls.
As it stands all of our suppliers are providing a good service and there's no supply shortages or delays in manufacture. We anticipate this could change and will keep customers with products on the production line informed.
Motability have advised that all annual services should be delayed. We will therefore not be ringing our customers on the scheme who are approaching their annual service. If you have a problem however which is preventing you from mobilising safely please do ring through on 01303 850760 and we'll do our upmost to help.
For all of our customers, and especially those who are self isolating, please don't hesitate to ring if you need assistance. We will be attending different parts of the county during the week and are happy to provide essentials with doorstep deliveries if required until the local councils finalise their plans for collection points.
Cinque Ports Mobility have weathered numerous 'storms' over the 30 years of trading and this one will be no different. Our secret is you. We depend on your loyalty and the recommendations you provide to your friends and loved ones. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your support and understanding and know that we're here to help if we can.
All the best,
Chris Cox / Chris French and the Team at Cinque Ports

Tonbridge Swimming Club are looking at starting a Para-Swimming Group. At this stage they are looking for people simply to register their interest to gauge numbers. Here's the information:
This is an early notice to Kent registered clubs and potential Para / Disability Swimmers in the Kent / Tonbridge areas of a “Start Para Swimming Programme” Tonbridge for the South East Region of Swim England.
The programme is aimed towards swimmers with disabilities that:... • are typically aged say 6yrs to early teens. • are at NPTS level 3 to 5 or slightly above (ie swimming in shallow learner pool or have recently moved to 25m pools for their sessions). • would eventually wish to enter a mainstream swimming club to further their swimming once they have passed through the Start Para swimming programme. • have a wish to develop their swimming to a higher level and eventually perhaps become “classified” to allow them to compete at Para events.
To register your interest please click here: https://www.tonbridgeswimmingclub.co.uk/r egister-for-trial/

*Calling males aged 18-25 who are full time active wheelchair users and who might want to participate in clothing research*
We have been asked by an Ashford based researcher if we could support their work by advertising an opportunity for wheelchair users to participate in adaptive clothing research and sample testing.
If this is something that interests you please email info@inc-apparel.co.uk to register your interest.
