We had fab 3 course fathers day meal at the Clayton Hotel after winning a competition.

My family and i would highly recommend to friends and family for food and drinks we will be back!

Visited for a conference with product company, refreshments were fantastic, tea/coffee on tap, cold soft drinks available within refreshment area, light snacks( biscuits, fruits and pastries) lovely Lunch Buffett served, plenty of choice....... Thankyou

Stunning place rooms comfortable very clean , lovely helpful staff, would definately recommend our 2nd visit

My daughter and I had a one night stay, check in was swift and efficient, and the hotel was fabulously decorated and stylish. Our room was spotless with pretty much every thing that you need for a short stay. The shower was fab, and the beds comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was great, with plenty of choice, even for me being on a gluten and dairy free FODMAP diet.

There were only a couple of down sides. The first being that we couldn't connect our devices to the music system, so I contacted reception and was told that it wasn't working in our room (231) and was due to be fixed. The second thing was, we were going to the 02 institute for a gig, and I got reception to pre-book a taxi to take us there. This was done for us, but unknowingly, the taxi took us to the wrong 02 institute, and we were stranded with no knowledge on how to get to the correct one. We then had to try and find another taxi to get us to the correct one in time. I was suitably cheesed off at having to pay over the odds for two taxis.

Apart from the two things mentioned, I will definitely choose to stay here again the next time we stay in Birmingham.

Mod cons, clean, comfortable, good food and service. Central location ... highly recommended 5*

Lovely staff and a very plesant environment. we came for afternoon tea and it was delicious. The lounge is very welcoming and comfortable. It was a great way to spend an afternoon with family.

Lovely Hotel, would recommend this to all looking for Birmingham city hotel. Friendly staff. Great rooms. Very very clean. Fantastic decor. I could live there.

Had lovely night here, food is amazing hotel lovely.

Had an overnight stay. Didn’t know what to expect as have never stayed in a Clayton hotel before and we’re ver pleasantly surprised. Room very clean and comfortable, loved the high tech touches and air conditioning very well received in this heat! Staff extremely friendly, helpful and polite, allowing us to check in 3 hours early. Complimentary cocktails from reception were a nice touch. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable, had a great night’s sleep and a really lovely buffet breakfast with lots of choice and helpful staff. Would definitely return!

The hotel is spotless the food was amazing the staff are very friendly and happy in there job which is always good to see. Our room was 607 so spacious and very modern will definitely be visiting again thankyou guy's xxx

Beautiful hotel and afternoon tea was by far the best I’ve ever experienced. The staff were lovely and attentive, it was a lovely experience x

Amazing stay just what 2 stresses parents needed.

Fantastic food we had the dinner and wine package but used the allowance off the main menu and it was perfect. The portion sizes were spot on 2 courses were plenty. The meat was cooked spot on I mean you couldn’t fault anything.

We stayed overnight too in room 439 lovely and clean great sized room. The bed was so comfortable I had the best night sleep I had for ages.

We also had breakfast the following morning which had a wide range of choice to suit everyone.

Hints we enjoyed 2 cocktails in the bar the strawberry cheesecake one which is like a cheesecake shake they had run out of biscuits tho but it still tasted amazing. We also had a mojteio again amazing so fresh and perfect.

Only complaint which isn’t the staff or hotel fault was when were in the bar listening to a wonderful singer we saw a large group sitting near us filling up theor glasses with their own wine. I know it’s pricey but I don’t think that was right attitude to have.

Overall amazing staff,clean fabulous food and brilliant stay thank you all and see you soon

Amazing hotel, well worth going, if you want a little something special, then this is the hotel, been twice now, so friendly, but very Upmarket too, nothing to much.

I attended here on Friday for the night and my room was lovely, the bed was really firm and comfy. I fell in love with the shower straight away and wished I could stay for longer. The food was incredibly tasty and thought the chef (think it was Michael but I'm rubbish with names) went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed everything.



The staff were very helpful and friendly during the whole event and one staff member (may of been called Toni) even tried helping to sort my sisters broken wheelchair).



The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because of my mum's room, it was the disabled access room and although it had so many good points the only concern I had was the bathroom. After she had a shower the whole floor was soaking wet and had the possibility of causing her to slip and hurt herself but overall I'm very impressed with my whole experience. I would happily return again and would recommend it to anyone

Excellent mid range hotel , great staff, excellent breakfast, nice bar and decor throughout the hotel. Rooms are well equipped and modern the only criticism is that in our room the windows are fixed and there is no fresh air ventilation, don’t know about other rooms but it didn’t spoil our stay, we will Stay here again when in Birmingham.

Style over substance. Lovely rooms, but the service is poor. I stay here 2 nights a month with work.

- Never enough bar staff on

- Gruff breakfast staff who don’t seem to clear tables!

- Breakfast is ‘hit and miss’. If you order poached eggs, it’s a 50/50 if you get them. Bacon is ‘grey’ (how is that possible?).

Beautiful hotel & excellent facilities. Reception staff were lovely shame about the restaurant staff however!! Never known so many vacant clueless individuals! We had afternoon tea booked in for 1pm for a large hen party group you’d think it would have been ready. Food didn’t come out till about 2:10! Was told tea & coffee was unlimited but had to ask 3 different staff members for just 1 tea which I eventually got about 2:30 after ordering at just after 1pm. Ordering drinks at the bar at 7:15 took a good half hour to actually receive the drinks even though saying we had to leave at 7:45. Drinks turned up at 7:40 so were rushed to drink them before Taxi arriving to go out for dinner. Incredibly slow service.

My 11th stay but I will not stay again. Advised reception that the room stank of cigarette smoke. They offered to refresh the room. Whilst advised done, clearly not done. Fully booked so no alternative room on offer. Will not book again, this hotel or hotel chain. A shame after ten previous bookings! In a no smoking hotel/environment how can this be acceptable
