We had SUCH a great group of kids at the monthly Hampshire Fostering Network class this morning. 12 secondary-school age children cook lunch for themselves and a carer, then all sit to eat it together. They were enthusiastic, inquisitive, helpful - a real dream team! And the Rainbow Tarts and Greek Salad were extra-delicious as a result of the care they took. A real honour this morning 😃

8 gorgeous Pear & Choc Tarts at Pudding Club this morning. Making pastry and custard from scratch with a largely new and young crowd: it was a challenge, but a good one, and we triumphed! One girl who has been almost every month for the last 4 years made this for her third time today and it’s her favourite of them all. Except it’s called Hippos-in-a-Swamp in their house 🦛😂

With all the excitement of Halloween and Fireworks Night, we had to postpone our Diwali celebrations to this week... but our crunchy veggie samosas with paneer (cheesy peas!) were worth the wait! Don’t assume kids won’t like ‘exotic’ flavours. I’ve made these with 18 tots this year and (to my knowledge; I wasn’t there when one group had a taste), all tried, and only 2 didn’t finish, their samosa!

Team Cookery Doodle Doo came together this weekend like never before! Following the birth of our most mini fan 2 weeks ago, Rachel of Cookery Doodle Doo Towcester was unable to do her usual classes at the Northampton Winter Food Festival... so Fiona of Cookery Doodle Doo Cheltenham and I stepped into the breach. I don’t get to see these gorgeous ladies often, so it was a real treat. And our Snow Bowls and Colourful Baubles went down a treat too 😁

We had a bangin’ time making our Firework Truffles this week both at a childminder’s and our Laverstoke-based preschool sessions. The addition of popping candy is a fun twist to these otherwise not-terribly-unhealthy treats!

I need your help! My little business is currently struggling a bit 😢 Every academic year, I lose my older preschool children to big school and I have to find new little friends. This year, Friday morning classes have remained very popular, and sometimes people can’t get a space, but Wednesday afternoons as an alternative are no-longer working. You DO NOT have to commit to my classes every week - lots of customers book recipes/dates that suit them on an ad-hoc basis (it’s just... a bit cheaper to book a half term course if you do come every week). If you’ve got a little one aged 2 1/2 (or will be this year), please vote: when would be a better time for a second session? You aren’t committing yourself, but if you would come - whether occasionally or regularly - when would that be? It was spicy Bean Burgers and Crunchy Slaw for the kids of the Hampshire Fostering Network yesterday. Our coleslaw uses yogurt instead of mayo for a healthier and fresher twist and it was a real hit! When I asked them to taste for seasoning, I had to stop a few of the boys from eating it all on the spot - I think they forgot they were meant to be feeding their carer too 😂😂

The kids at the Belfry shopping centre had huge fun yesterday decorating these pumpkin biscuits with me - just look at some of these creations: wowzers! 🎃

Took my 2 and a half year old boy today and Wilf loved it! Thanks Katie he had such a lovely afternoon! Would love to this on a regular basis. X

I would like to thank Katie for a fantastic one-and-a-half hours of fun entertainment, Lily had such a great time and I enjoyed ‘helping’.



Katie was welcoming and is amazing with the children, the patience of a saint! The children made biscuit dough today, mixed it up, rolled it out, pressed out shapes of hands and feet, whilst they were baking in the oven they made handprint calendars then when the biscuits were baked, they mixed up ‘magic’ frosting to decorate their work. We will definitely come again in the near future, well worth the £9 for an adhoc session. Thanks for the coffee, Katie, and a fun 1.5 hrs.

Today was Millie’s first day at Sunday morning pudding club and she loved it! Thank you so much Katie for making Millie feel so welcome � she had a fabulous time and loved making new friends.

So I thought I did well cooking at home with my daughter... Until we started cookery doodle doo... The children do so much, great for their independence and to experience new foods and ingredients... Highly recommended

Our children attended a pop up class at the Overton coffee shop and had a great time. Fab instruction from Katie that kept their attention whilst the grown ups enjoyed a chat and coffee in peace. Thoroughly recommend

My little girl loves cookery classes with Katie - so much fun and we're building up quite a collection of artwork too! She can't wait to go back. Highly recommend!

Katie recently ran a fantastic Cookie Art Tea Party for my daughter's 5th birthday at our house in Caversham. The girls (and their mums) all loved it and we had lots of compliments as to what a lovely, creative and fun party it was. Katie was fab, she was brilliant with the little ones and was happy to work around our busy schedule. I'd definitely use Katie again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
