Hello Everyone! We just wanted to say a big Thank You to all of you who are leaving lovely comments on our page recently. It is really great for the staff to know that they are appreciated for their extra hard work at this time looking after your loved ones. We do try our hardest to reply but in the current circumstances we’re flat out ensuring continuity of care and that everyone, staff included, are safe and well. Please do keep sending your thoughts and messages in – it means a lot at this time. #stayconnected #staythankful #staysafe

What a busy weekend we have had, from exercises to garden walks, pampering to Skypeing friends and relatives, crafts and games. We hope you are all keeping well, please stay safe.

Frontline Carers Need Your Applause Too!
The NHS is not the only frontline. More people work in Care roles in the UK, and those working hard in care homes also need to know that their contribution is also vital and appreciated, as they continue to work hard to keep society’s most vulnerable generation safe and well at this time of crisis. They too need to know that everyone is behind them, and supporting them for the brave and demanding work that they do. This not only applie...s to the carers and nurses, but to everyone on the frontline in care homes, including the culinary staff, maintenance, well-being and activities, admin and reception, and not forgetting the housekeepers whose role is now more infection control. They are all working with one aim to keep their residents healthy and active in this difficult phase.
Our residents, where possible and with suitable self-distancing, will be applauding these frontline care heroes at 2pm on Friday the 3rd of April, and our staff will be applauding each other and all our other homes too.
If you are a relative or friend of a resident or a member of staff and you’d like to show your appreciation too, then please clap along at 2pm this Friday. We’ll be posting up a video of this from each of our care homes, and it would be fabulous if you could post your video clip of you clapping along at the same time. I am sure everyone will join me, the other Directors and senior management of Avery Healthcare in recognising and praising the phenomenal amount of hard work that all of our staff, whatever your role, are putting in to protect our residents in the most stressful and challenging situation in care in our time. I know that you have all been going above and beyond the call of duty to make our homes as safe as they can be, and to provide a...s normal and happy a life for our residents as possible during this difficult time. You have taken a totally responsible approach to hygiene standards and to isolating if you or any of your family that you live with display any symptoms. In common with the much-praised NHS, all of you are on the frontline, and supporting the most vulnerable age group, many of whom already have other conditions; so we know that the pressure that you too are under is immense, and it is to your credit that you are managing this so well at all of our homes. Many relatives and friends of residents have offered you their kind and supportive comments on social media. I can reassure those people that you, our fantastic staff, are doing all that you can, 24/7, to protect and care for their loved ones. 👏 👏 👏
