What a great place to stay. Very friendly staff, brilliant room great food and the best beer garden ever.we will definitely be back again.
Went to Cromwells for our Christmas office party Friday 1st December (group of 21). From 1st contact about hosting us to our evening being at the venue, Daniel and his team were fantastic! Couldn't have been a better night!!! The 3 course Christmas menu had choices for everyone and it was absolutely delicious!! We had the side room to ourselves, probably best for the other patrons. Lovely room and table layout for us all. Thank you Daniel and all your team for a wonderful night. Excellent service and food 5*.
We called to Cromwells late Sunday afternoon for a drink in the superb beer garden they had a good choice of beers & real ales. We didn't plan to eat there but we were sitting in the late afternoon sunshine so we decided to eat there. I ordered roast pork with stuffing & crispy crackling there was plenty of veg to go with it but the star of the show was the rich tasting gravy served in a small jug it the best tasting gravy I've had since my mother used to make. The staff was very friendly & chatty with plenty of banter if you wanted to it was one of the best Sunday dinners I've had highly recommend.
We arrived on a Friday afternoon for the weekend Shrewsbury Food festival.
We had a very friendly welcome by the staff on arrival and a late lunch in the welcoming bar/resto. The fish & chips were excellent.
The Four poster Queen bed was really comfortable. The room clean & tea/coffee making facilities available.
We were located right next to the beer garden which was very popular & noisy but it didn't bother us as we were out all day, popped back to change then out again & by time we got back in the evening (11/11.30) it was empty & quiet, the weather was hot & we left the windows open.
All in all a nice place to stay right in the heart of Shrewsbury with parking in The Lion hotel round the corner.
Very nice food friendly staff highly recommend it
Stayed only one night, great little place and the terrace garden was a lovely surprise. Will return to Shrewsbury and the Cromwell Inn
Ola, Fantastic service for a meal for 30 lovely friends. The whole team were attentive and professional, food fabulous and service outstanding. Dan is amazing and so on the ball, thank you all for a wonderful evening ciao ciao obrigada Christine n Ollie x

I went in with my wife for a spot of lunch and ordered the fish and chips! All I can say is wow! This was probably the best fish and chips Iβve ever had!
I was in charge of organising my friends hen party. We'd heard good reviews about Cromwell's so we decided on having food and drinks here to start our night off. We opted for a selection of sharing platters which were to die for!!!The Restaurant Manager Dan was fantastic at helping us to organise everything and he ensured everything ran smoothly. I'd 100% recommend Cromwell's, the food is amazing, all the staff are friendly and will do anything for you. A massive thank you Dan and your team for a brilliant start to our night.
Great welcome, superb rear garden area. I'd recommend this to all.
Dogs, and nice people more than accepted as customers.
We'll hopefully be there again a little later to enjoy the superb hospitality and a little live music ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
Great superb as usual, good value and mix of price options. From light bites to large meals. Great garden setting. Great staff and service, we even forgive the Man-bun esque ironically bearded tight retro tartan trouseage sporting waiter (no he looked cool...... really) οΏ½
Fabulous little place. Central which suited us. Comfortable bed, lovely double bedroom with bathroom. Spotlessly clean, great staff and scrumptious food. The breakfast gets full marks. Definitely recommended.Could gear the music and chatting from the bar when we retired but that didnβt bother us really and the pub closes at 10.30 anyway.
Excellent beer,,excellent secret garden,,,didnβt appreciate being talked to in a mix of spanish and italian when buying my drinks from the very cocky barman,,,, made it all a bit over familiar and tacky,,,,
3rd time we've visited. Can recommend panini's & hand cut chips! Visited 3rd May for a birthday/ wedding anniversary meal. First time I've managed 3 courses in a long time! All food was lovely, the staff are friendly & helpful and the beer garden is a real hidden gem! 5 stars οΏ½οΏ½
16 of us went last night for Xmas party , and the food, service and whole experience was fabulous. Thankyou to Dan and his team and Emma who served us .We will be back.
Booked this for our anniversary and the wife's birthday, after finding this lovely place on line. We have travelled from the Isle of Man for this occasion. Shrewsbury is such a lovely place to spend a break and coming back to this small hotel makes the day. Lovely hidden gem of a beer garden /sun terrace at the rear of the hotel. Staff are very attentive and food superb. Would recommend staying here and will certainly stay here again when we return to Shrewsbury. οΏ½
Second time we have had a drink at Cromwellβs Inn. A lovely secluded garden with a trickling water feature. Worth a visit.
Have always liked this place, especially the outside area. However, dogs running free last evening really spoilt it. There were three off lead sniffing round under the tables. One then cocked his leg on a lady's beautiful handbag, she then had to ask for a cloth to wipe it! I am not mad keen on dogs being allowed at all but at the very least they need to be kept under control! Disgusting!
