Crowne Plaza Birmingham Nec

We had a lovely visit from Carmen and Baby Oscar today. Our General Manager Martin Woods is looking very comfortable meeting the new baby of the office :) Great to see you are both doing well and we look forward to seeing you both again soon Carmen Yau.

What a fantastic day yesterday at The Bear Grylls Adventure at The NECBirmingham The team had a great time, cheering each other through the assault course, we conquered a fear of heights on the zip wire and extremely high ropes!! Thank you Joe Shearer, we look forward to visiting again very soon !

Stayed there last night. Craig on Reception was a real laugh and great help. Our room was clean and spacious. Only let down was the AC didn't work and it was rather warm. One window opened but the other didn't. Breakfast plentiful and hot. Dinner last night in the bar was good and came quickly. Only 5 mins to the Genting Arena. All staff helpful and friendly . Definitely stay there again.

Stayed here while we attended the take that concert at the genting great stay had everything you needed and more lovely all you can eat breakfast room service 24/7 bar restaurant, the staff were lovely and cheerful loved our stay and will most definitely stay here again and thoroughly recommend it thanks for a most enjoyable stay 5/5

Only two things could of made the stay better.

Free parking with the hotel and topless female reception staff.



Checked in and got guest of the day so had a free upgrade, 30% off drinks at the hotel bar and a free breakfast worth £15.



Polite and friendly staff



Even met Craig Charles from Red Dwarf at the hotel bar that evening.



Comfy beds - had a good kip.

The shitter was grand, really soft bog paper, it was like wiping my hole with clouds.



There was some scented pillow spray to help give you a good night's sleep, closest thing to legal date rape but without the after effects (No drowsiness or sore ring) slept like a dead hooker on an overdose.



Showers were good, none complicated shower system.



Safe windows installed, just incase you get the depressed guest check in.

Just the one night with breckfasts the next morning I found the staff excellent the room was very clean and the food was excellent

Will definitely stop again �

Easy to find of the motorway, ample parking. Hotel receptionist really professional and very nice. The hotel it’s self is modern and inviting. We stayed in room 252, it was spotless, a lovely touch with the chocolates. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend staying.

Spent one night in hotel prior to a seminar. Arrived at around 9pm and after checking in made my way to the bar to get some food. Had gourmet burger which was very nice. The reception staff and waitresses in the bar were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast wasn’t included in my package so paid separately - £13-95 - the breakfast wasn’t bad but have had better. Thought the price was very expensive.

The meeting facilities were excellent.

Only stayed one night to attend the BBC Good Food Summer Show. Check in was efficient and friendly as were all the staff and we couldn't fault much at all. Food was excellent and parking not bad value at £10 per 24hrs being within 600yds of the NEC.

Only minor gripe was we asked for a non slip bath mat to go on the base of the bath. After waiting 90 minutes and asking twice the gentleman brought up an ordinary mat to go on the bathroom floor. He went away again only to ring the room 20 minutes later saying they don't have any!

Lovely hotel and room. Bottles of water in our room along with mints. There was also a spray for your pillow if you wished to use it to aid a peaceful nights sleep. Room service was excellent. We were told half an hour for food to be delivered but it arrived with in 10 minutes.

Very convenient location for the NEC and the Genting Arena. Plenty of places to eat to sort all tastes with in very close walking distance too.

I would have given it a 5 star rating but there was a downside.

The down side was the air con did not work, which was needed as it was a roasting day. We found a fan to use but had to leave it running all night to keep cool. Also food trays outside rooms along the corridor when we arrived and still there when we went out an hour later. Management were most apologetic though and they were removed by the time we returned an hour later.

Great hotel with a great breakfast and lovely staff, little things like the sleep aid pillow spray we're nice little touches...only downfall was the room wasn't ready when we arrived but we were allowed to leave our stuff in there so not a huge inconvenience although the previous occupants room service tray with dirty plates etc was left outside our room until very late in the day, long after the room had been cleaned

Another good stay here for a concert at the Genting Arena, lovely room with view of the lake and separate living/ dining area. The floor was a bit slippery in the lounge area, needed a carpet but good to have somewhere to sit and eat room service and had the advantage of a second loo. Lots of nice little extras and good quality toiletries. Staff were friendly and helpful.

After receipt of an explanation for the gripe I outlined below, I now retract my negative review. Sometimes we just need to be informed as to the reasons why certain policies are put in place. X



Horrendous .... nice & clean, practical - BUT ..



Despite the fact I've paid upfront with debit card for my room, paid for my parking, paid for my evening meal .... they refuse to trust me enough to allow an order of AN ICE CREAM unless I get up, get dressed, put my face back on, secure away, lick up, drag myself down to reception .....



FOR THE SAKE OF £3 !!!! ????

good but could be better front of desk could be more polite after traipsing all the way to the 5th floor only to find my key card didn't work and going all the way back when I was really tired the receptionist just took the card off me handed it back to me with no word of apology. My colleague also had a problem with the air con and spent 40 mins ringing reception only to be cut off, then got dressed went down and was told they were too busy to answer phones.

We had meeting here today . Room was nice and plenty if coffee and snacks however when we had a drink in the bar later they added the 10%service charge to our bill without asking us . The male member of staff that was wondering about looked like his jacket was a size too small and one button tightly fastened. Quite awlfully dressed and not professional looking . Just an ok experience from the venue piont of view

Radio channel with advertising & hip hop music not the best to listen to, during breakfast

It waz ok.. freindly staff an helpful..

Room was good clean an warm

Cleaners took a wee bit pride in there work which waz good to see..

Breakfast waz good plenty to choose from... down side.. evening meal.. ordered steak an ale pie.. first one waz still frozen in center.. second one pastery waz rock solid..wasint made fresh at hotel.. chippy does a better one..

Car park expensive and very confusing when you are only visiting ??

Steak was good but the pepper sauce was very weak.

Service was excellent and friendly .. so made up for the bland food .

Would I recommend .. yes as overall good

USB charger didn't work in the room, asked if someone could try to fix it or if they could borrow me an adapter, adapter was only for sale. No one showed up to even look at the problem. ( no one picked up phone when I tried to call from my room)

Housekeeping showed up at 3pm...

Carpet on 4th floor needs to be stretched or changed before someone in high heels falls.

Stuff in the restaurant was very professional.

It wasn't a pleasant stay at all for me. I had my own food which I took to the reception myself and I was really hungry and explained why I need to get my own food heated. I did not even mind heating up my own food. Inspite of all my explanations, all they had to say was it was due to safety reasons they wouldn't warm up my food. I mean really? What safety reason would that be?

You do not even have a microwave oven?

No consideration for food allergies. I am coeliac and in the car very the only option was the pork (not everyone eats pork) and a fruit salad for dessert. Not good enough for a four star hotel.
