Damascena Coffee House Moseley Description

"Your Local, Far-Away Coffee House"

Damascena Coffee House | Delicatessen opened its doors in June 2014. In November 2014 it was voted as winner of "Moseley In Bloom Most Captivating Cafe 2014".

The name “Damascena” (meaning “Damascus Rose”) reflects not only the city that inspires our food, but also our beautifully themed coffee house.

Damascena Coffee House offers food that is incredibly healthy, and there is a large vegetarian menu available to give you plenty of selection.

Follow the road to 'Damascena'!

You’ll find Damascena in Moseley Village (easily accessible by the number 1, 35 and 50 bus routes), a vibrant cosmopolitan area filled with a number of boutiques and restaurants – but none like ours. Stop by for a coffee and escape to the magical, mythical world in our friendly café and delicatessen.

Normally on a Saturday and Sunday morning we have to deal with littering and broken glass in and around the planters.
We are also cleaning and washing down the garden gate/door because some seem to think it's a good spot for urinating.
Today vandalism is added to the list. Where does it end?

Damascena has it covered - no crisis her :)

Went there today with the wife. Absolutely amazing food. We ordered the falafel and lamb shawarma - both were cooked to perfection, accompanied by a wonderfully creamy hummus. The falafel was exceptional, with its crispy exterior and soft interior (without being mush).

The highlight was the knafe, which my wife and I have been wanting to try for a long while now. Stringy, creamy cheese with the crispy vermicelli on top. My only suggestion would be to serve the ice cream separately, so you can enjoy every bite of that crispy vermicelli.

Definitely going again!

Visited the Moseley Damascena Coffee House on my 45th wedding anniversary as it is next door to the first flat we lived in when we got married. The place is fantastic and the internal decor/layout is beautiful and work is continuing to further develop the outside and archway area at the back. Coupled with the excellent food and drinks there was also a superb level of service offered by all staff we met. A really nice touch was the provision of a complimentary tea and baklava selection on a romantically decorated plate, after staff had learned it was our anniversary - making a great visit a really memorable one. Thank you all for your kind gesture, generosity and friendliness it was truly appreciated.

The food was amazing & service was good. I would recommend to anyone to try it out. Can’t wait for my next visit. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 😋 😋😋😋😋

My wife recommended to go as she enjoyed the cafe in Birmingham.

We had a fabulous vegetarian Greek cheese dish with tea and coffee. The cappuccino was one of the best I’ve had! We will return!

User

Lemon and ginger tea is to die for, as was everything else, but especially the fabulously light, sweet and nutty baklava! Perfect.

Honestly the staff here at Damascena Moseley are amazing. I regularly order delivery and visit when running errands, they are forever helpful and always super nice. As a vegan they're so accommodating, there's plenty of vegan options and veganisable veggie options. The food is lovely and there's always a good vibe at the place even when dining alone. Any (rare) issues have always been resolved kindly and swiftly so they really do value their customers. One of the first places i visited when I recently moved to Birmingham, will be a regular so long as I'm here! ❤️🌹

Have eaten here several times. The food is great, the atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly and welcoming. It is reasonably priced and the place is just gorgeous. Cannot recommend it, or the city centre branch (all the above applies to both) highly enough.

Drinks and (a lot of) food for £10 a head. No mean feat for Moseley.

Best coffee and croissant I’ve had in an age ! Must go back and try the cakes !

User

Tight fit! Loud phone. Most Deelishus lentil soup with a twist, mezze good standard and selection. Falfafel slightly overdone. Staff seemed to lack the welcome that Istanbul offers us.
