We still have one or two places available on our Poseidon MKVI/Seven Rebreather Try Dive sessions this weekend. Find out what rebreather diving is all about - and at minimal cost! The £49 fee also includes our site entry fee - so that allows you to go for a dive either before or after your rebreather try dive. But you do need to pre-book, not just turn up. Best to contact Dosthill on 01827281304 in opening hours or Ian on 0792 8562916 outside of opening hours to check what time slots are still available.
Dosthill Swimmers - By popular demand Dosthill Quarry is opening for the first time in 60 years for evening swimming so you can cool down after work, and save £2 on the usual £7 swim fee as a special launch offer. Swimmers aged 15 or under pay £2.50.
But we need your support to establish these special trial sessions!
We know that a lot of our regular swimmers would like to also come on other days. So this week Dosthill Quarry will be open for evening swimming from 6:00pm til...l 9pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in addition to our normal sessions from Thursday to Sunday. We are also opening on Wednesday afternoons from 2-6pm.
And you can pre-order our tasty snacks & meals for after your swim! Hot & cold drinks will be available as usual.
We plan to continue the Monday to Wednesday swims throughout the summer, if we get your support.
Please email ian@dosthillquarry.com to pre-book your session

We are open from 7am on all weekend days, and the other alternate Saturdays are not affected by the early closing time. Please plan your dives and swims accordingly.
By popular demand Dosthill Quarry is open today 1pm-11pm for diving and swimming.
Tonight is another notable celestial event. Be sure to cast your gaze toward the sky tonight for 2018's Strawberry Moon. It peaked at 5:53 this morning but is expected to still be prominent tonight. If so, Dosthill Quarry will be a great place to see it because the quarry is so far below the surrounding street lighting.
We know that tonight is the England v Belgium game (KO 7pm), so we’ll have i...t playing till the end of the match around 8:50pm. So you can swim or dive before and immediately after the game, followed by night swimming & diving from 9:30pm till 11pm! And we have simple snacks and hot & cold drinks available. But places are limited to 50, so you must email ian@dosthillquarry.com if you are coming, so Ian can plan staffing and food.
Sound good? Then phone 0792 8562916 or 01827 281304 and reserve your place.

Set yourself goals - aim high ! Even from her young age, Paris knows she wants to be a marine scientist, and we were delighted to have been able to help her take that first step towards this career, by introducing her to the underwater world. Well done Paris, and we look forward to seeing you progress!
Are you in?
Dosthill is now fully open, but with access for a limited number of vehicles only. If you're planning to dive or swim, please phone 0792 8562916 to let us know, so we can make sure there is a car park bay clear for you.
Update on our opening hours tomorrow 3 March. Our staff are currently on site assessing the conditions. The main issue will be the car park, which is a bit tricky. We will be open tomorrow, but as we will have to make sure the car park is clear, it is likely we will be opening for 10am, instead of the usual 7am.
Dosthill remains closed today 2 March - re-opening for the weekend of 3-4 March
Dosthill is closed today 1 March, due to the bad weather. We will be monitoring the conditions for tomorrow 2 March and will advise whether the site will be open. All expected to be back to normal opening hours on the weekend of 3-4 March.
What can I say I only started diving last year and have found Ian, Dan, Rob and Jon to be great teachers and fun instructors. Highly recommend the great facilities and most of all friendly people that visit too.
What a good find amazing place beautiful water and lovely staff can’t wait to go back
What a fantastic experience to be had here.
I started my diving career here (very recently), I have had the pleasure of meeting the instructing staff of scuba pursuits and having them lead me to my open water course.
I glimpsed a few of the treasures that dosthill has to offer and I'm looking forward to furthering my career and seeing more that lays in wait for me at the bottom of the quarry.
If your looking for diving experiences with fantastic people in a fantastic picturesque location then you need to visit here.
EDIT: I'm now Advanced Open Water because of these lovely people and lovely Place and after a short break of Christmas im back in the water and have gained wreck speciality and half way to my deep diver sepciality..
Again the dedication and shear enjoyment the instructors have for any student is outstanding.. The first memories you make underwater here are precious. The first time i got to enter the plane because i could... were ace.. Thanks DiveIn and Karen, Dan, Gordy, Dan2 and Ian.
Relaxed but safe place to be introduced to wild swimming. Gorgeous surroundings. The colour of the water is fabulous, gives it an exotic feel as you swim.
Open water swimming yesterday! Great find. Beautiful place, lovely staff. Great swim and run! We will be back! Thank you.
I love this place. Passed my open water here over a few months. The staff are top drawer and always good for a giggle. Ian is a great guy who has his quarry run impeccably well. The food is great ( I recommend the home made chilli )
And very reasonable price wise. The underwater attractions are good fun and kit hire was good kit not rubbish. Overall dossi is a great place to dive.
Had an amazing time doing the Discover Scuba course on Saturday with Karen! Definitely will be booking on for my PADI when I can! Can't wait to see the group photo that was taken
Great to return to this hidden gem, ok so Im a warm water diver but I did my Open Water Course at Dotshill(a few years ago) and I have returned to complete some further PADI qualifications. I found the staff first rate, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks go to Ian,Mark,George,Dan and Karen not forgetting the behinds the scenes staff who make it all possible (Karen and Pauline). I really enjoyed my time here and although the final course (Rescue Diver) was tough it was very rewarding. If you want to become a diver then I believe you would struggle to find anywhere better than Dosthill that gos for surroundings and the proffesional approach and attention to detail given by all staff members. Well done.
Great swim here yesterday, the water was perfect and the guys running it were great. Will definitely swim here again
Friendly & helpful staff. Beautiful location and perfect water. Just don't go on Sundays if you want tranquillity as local shoot was noisy!
Fantastic place to swim. The water is clear and you can sometimes see a lot of fish. I get to stay in for hours and in the months when the days are shorter, they put floodlights on at one end and you can swim off into the dark. The staff are really friendly. The steep sides of the quarry and the surrounding trees stop the wind so it is always calm and still.
Fantastic experience to swim in the dark (with a low full moon).
Everyone was very friendly and the water clear and gorgeous to swim in. This was my first visit. I will most certainly be back for more swims.
Dosthill is a beautiful place to swim. The water is so clear.
Ian who runs it with his team are so lovely and accommodating.
I would highly recommend anyone to come here.
This is going to be my winter swimming place.
Brilliant for young divers
Beautiful freshwater spring filled lake with plenty to see for divers and a stunning location to swim.
The staff are amazing and can't do enough for you and the food is delicious!!!! Just what you need after a dive or swim
Absolutely fabulous open air swimming today, My family enjoyed so much ....peaceful surroundings and friendly atmosphere. Going back tomorrow .
A small dive site, however very adequate for a day's diving. It was my first experience of diving here & very satisfying it was too, even if the water wasn't heated lol.
The staff were very helpful, polite & aided me admirably as a disabled diver. In the surface interval we felt the cold a bit & was gratefully ushered into the classroom to keep warm & served some delicious home made hot nosh....... priced remarkedly well as so were the hot drinks.
An interesting day dive, navigating the different underwater attractions & the huge perch. This served us well for the night dive which I enjoyed more, could have been something to do with the massive pike in one of the sunken boats.
Overall a very enjoyable day & will be back.
Very clean, chilly water, friendly people and simple but good facilities; little drawbacks: the lake is quite small and the circuit, therefore, relatively short (400m), the entrance fee is quite pricy with 7 quid. Nevertheless, I enjoy swimming there!
Past my open water at dosthill, enjoyed every minet of it . Staff were very good too everyone seem to be very helpful.
Went to dosthill Saturday but it was to cold for me, my son Richard and his son have all past there open water and now are hucked on scuba diving.
