SYMPATHY: Today Members of Eccleshall Orange Watch attended the funeral of John Johnson, affectionately known as ‘JJ’ at Holy Trinity Church, Eccleshall.
John joined the Fire Service in 1967 and left in 1993 after having been stationed at Eccleshall Fire Station for all of his career. He was the last serving Sub-Officer at the old Fire Station on the High Street and the first Sub-Officer of the current Station on the Newport Road. He successfully led the station in the CFOA ...(Chief Fire Officers Association) national competitions and worked internationally in the RTC field.
The funeral was attended by both serving and retired Fire Officers from across Staffordshire, other Counties and from other Countries, the Fire Service Ceremonial Squad and a former Chief Fire Officer
Having also spent many years with Staffordshire Ambulance Service there was presence from many former and current Ambulance Service colleagues.
‘JJ’ was a true local and county hero and this was shown by the numbers of people who attended today.
Our thoughts are with his family Sheila, Tina, Neil, Jonny and his friends at this time.
