After a fire broke out in the engine rooms on Fred Olsen's Black Watch on Saturday and left half the ship without electricity they had to evacuate the ship at Funchal, Madeira and chartered three planes to fly everyone home. Great response from a great cruise line. Read more...

The Anthem of the Seas is in the news again this week when a young boy nearly drowned shortly after starting the cruise. Once again highlighting the controversy behind the lack of lifeguards on cruise ships. Only one major cruise line employs lifeguards, and that only since 2013.
