A few weeks ago, I was asked by a client to make her a trouser suit with some silk dupion which she had bought on a holiday to Vietnam. Here is what I made her.... The fabric is reversible, with the horizontal lines of the dupion appearing on the turquoise, and a smoother satin on the olive side..

A little while ago a client asked me to make her a dress for her birthday party. She sent me a couple of images of the dress that she would like, with some slight modifications.

A few weeks ago I was asked by a Bride-to-be to alter one of her bridesmaid dresses. Although it had been custom made, it did not fit comfortably. It was a zip-back dress, so the obvious thing was to change it to a corset-style back. I had to use off-cuts of fabric from her other dresses after they had been shortened. A lady recently asked me to make her a top and skirt, copying a tee-shirt type top and skirt samples. She also provided the fabric - a length or sari material and a satin petticoat to line the skirt. Here are the photos, first her originals, and then the matching orange top and skirt. I inserted a concealed zip into the left side seam on the top, as the original was just a slip - over style and in a slightly stretchy jersey material, and there was no 'give' in the sari fabric, so it would be difficult to put on and maintain the 'fit'. There are pockets inserted into the side seams of the skirt, which also has a concealed zip.

Sorry I haven'the posted any new photos recently. I've been busy doing alterations to prom dresses. There's just one dress left to shorten now and then that's it. I hope everyone has a lovely Prom and the weather doesn't dampen your spirits too much!

Recently a client asked me to make a dress for his girlfriend, as a surprise. He'd seen a dress on a website but it was not available in her size. The first two images are of the dress on the website, and the last two are of the dress I made. I'm not sure if you can see the black velvet piping set in the vertical seams. I hope she liked it.

A recent client had unfortunately ripped the front of her wedding dress when she caught her toe in the organza over-layer. She brought the dress to me to fix as she now wants to sell the dress. Here is a few photos to show the mending process.
