New accident unit arrived today, built by Roger Dyson and based on a Mercedes Arocs, this will replace the old Daf 65 which has been a great workhorse for nearly 20 years

User

First one of the year, loaded container, full of waste paper on the A5 near Atherstone, they normally make it to the next junc on the island before rolling over

Maserati v Wagon & drag. One from yesterday, in Hams Hall industrial estate, stationary wagon & drag hit by a Maserati Ghibli, which then caught fire, very lucky no serious injuries, the lorry driver was stood between the unit and trailer when it was hit. Amazing how much damage it had done to the truck, shearing the front axle and sub frame off, old school chain lift and a lot of strapping and securing the axle and suspension in place to get it back to base

User

A trip to the edge of the Cotswolds for two of the heavies today, loaded eight wheel tipper with the rear end stuck in a large whole on the edge of a small country lane. Lifted and supported the rear corner with the rotator, whilst the other heavy winched it back onto the roadway

User

A couple of jobs from this week, overturned refrigerated trailer in Coventry, once upright the driver was able to carry on back to his farm and a Mercedes car gone off the road in Curdworth and into a canal bridge, luckily no injuries either incident

User

Interesting job from today, safe to say the first micro light we have ever recovered

User

Keeping the rotator busy this week, todays job, empty curtain sider stuck under the reduntant bridge on Hinckley road Nuneaton, a regular spot over the years

Job from this afternoon on the M6, just north of Corley services, bulk tipper, carrying 13 scrap, crushed cars, when the load caught fire. Called in to assist the fire brigade as the vehicles kept reigniting. The little Merlo earned its money, we tried to pull the rear bale of 4 cars out, so that they could be doused, it pulled the whole 13 cars and 9.6 t out in one go. We then had seperate and spread the cars out, so they could extinguish each one and then reload them back into the trailer with the Hiab, managed to get 11 back in and two on the back of our truck. Fire brigade said they used over 400l of foam on the job amazing how it kept burning, when there were no enignes, fuel tanks, tyres e.t.c on the vehicles

Two of the many

New truck about to go onto the road, updating one of the older flat beds. 7t Iveco Daily with second car lift

Buried JCB Job from yesterday, a JCB bogged down to it`s axles. The machine had been trying to get accross a grass area to clear a burnt our car, but sank in an extremely wet part, idealy we would have put the Foden at least part of the way into the field and winched it back, but access was very tight and poor between some houses, the only way was to reverse the rotator in a straight line between the houses and using the crane at 90 deg to the truck to line up with the digger and extra cables to reach the machine. Once the initial suction was broken it came back out ok, but needed a good steam clean

User

Very lucky driver from last night, vehicle left the carriageway on the M6 4-3 traveled up the embankment, along the top of the embankment, before finaly coming to rest, on top of the concrete base for a bridge, over the motorway. Quickest and safest option was to travel round to Packington lane Coleshill and total lift the car from the bridge

User

Very lucky driver, loaded 18t rigid v tree on the A446 near the Belfry, the night before last. Not sure he was sticking to the motto on the side of the truck though

User

Two of the more interesting ones from this morning, first one, the Renault on the A38 near Bassets pole came down the dual carriageway, straight through the middle of an island before mounting the barrier and coming to a stop . Straight from that, to assist another one of our trucks in Mancetter, Nissan, which had been towing a trailer, skidded on sheet ice and finished up hanging off the side of a bridge, driver very lucky it held where it was, lifted the front and then winching the vehicle from the rear with the second truck rotated it round and dropped it onto the road, owner opted to drive home as only minor damage

User

Land Rover out earning its keep, called in to assist Potters Green with an empty van, which had gone around a mile down a track in Baddesley Ensor, before managing to drop both n/s wheels off the track into a stream, with no access to the front it had to come out backwards, using a handily placed tree to winch off and create an angle to get the rear end out onto the track, it was soon out, it then took a lot of shunting and towing it through patches of mud to get it back onto the roadway

User

Dumped dumpers and bashed Bemtleys A couple from the weekend, stolen 9t dumper left at the rear of derelict farm buildings over a field and a Bentley which hit a tree inside a local golf complex

User

The only time I had to call them l can only say everything went well

User

Came out last Friday 25th May to a Lorry with a front axle in a metre deep hole - didn't send 5 lorries out like some other Recovery Companies on TV at the minute would have done and got it out without doing any damage at all and without having to remortgage my house to pay for it. 1st class service and would recommend to anyone. Thanks again. From Tony at TY.

User

Absolutely brilliant service when my son-in-law broke down on the M6 this morning....beat the AA and RAC et al hands down.

Recommend them wholeheartedly.

1 stage of a 2 stage relay recovery. Truck was clean and good condition (previous truck broke down and seemed to be falling apart) driver was amazing and helped cheer me up abit after a miserable end to a charity day. Very respecting of my car which was a low 2 seater sports car. Couldn't fault them

User

Very poor customer service, misleading prices quoted.

When I tried to talk to them over the phone because I think I was charged more than I should've been, the man told me, and I quote ''the price is what it is'', and ''in this country we pay VAT''. I'm really sorry but in this country is a misleading omission under The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 not to tell customers the final price including the VAT and just add it on the invoice afterwards.

I would not give even 1 star if I could because of the way that man spoked to me over the phone.

User

Not at all impressed with the way things were handled last night, police arranged recovery for me with this company. Wouldn't accept an over the phone payment even though they said they would! Apparently we have to have £150 cash on us which we didn't so my car was impounded! Left us stranded at Corley services which is 4 and a half hours from home with no car no money and no personal belongings, trading standards have been informed and a full report will be done to them as soon as I eventually get home. One very angry and upset customer! Just to add to the problems, my trailer and money to release the car is running a bit late due to traffic, phoned the company to see if I could get a bit of extra time as they shut at half 5, by this time they'd seen this review and basically said that if I hadn't put it on leeway may have been possible but due to me posting it, it has become a strict half 5 closing time with no leeway at all. Turns out the truth hurts! They've also tried to tell me that the back accounts I tried probably didn't have money in them (all 3 have been checked today, all have more than sufficient funds in them) Never have I dealt with such money grabbers or such ignorance!

I would give a 0 as they are nothi g but rude. slating me on social media when photos of my car etc has been in the paper already. Im lucky to come out of it alive... do they get something out of taking photos and slating people. Granted not by name but its been in the paper with my reg showing. Funny how police have said theyre not allowed to do that and the manager says he is. Funny how on the day of my accident i had no coat on and wanted my cardigan as i was cold. He was rude and refused. Says i have to pay £300 yes £300 when its actually £150.... i saw my daughters jacket and asked for that and he was absolutely rude and chucked it at me. The lady over the phone was rude and again the manager was rude. Who do they think they are talking to folk like utter rubbish? Im talking to the media today and ill be mentioning this garage and it will be plastered. Im taking this futher. No need to talk to people like rubbish. Dont like it when i spoke to you the same way??? As you refused to talk to me as wanted your money etc.. dont you dare talk to me like that. I hope one day a family memeber has a serious accident and that accident plastered all over fb etc and saying horrible things... see how the roles reverse. They shkuld be closed down with their lack of customer service skills. Rude! Inconsiderate arseholes! All for your wall of fame in shop... not happy at all. Just wait and see from the media now. Bad publicity is not what you need. An apology in writing would be a start.. but maybe you dont do things like that. Aaaargh! Youre lucky my little girl wasnt in the car with me.
