User

The German market is the best

Really really love the DJ that was put on under the subway by the mailbox

Great pizza & beer to

User

Love it here!

A proper German Market

It feels like you are actually in Germany when you come here!

We’ve been for the last 5 or 6 years & will return again

User

Have been a few times already. I really love the German market so festive.

Lots of food to choose from hot dogs to pork baps to pretzels.

Cakes are Allso amazing and really good value.

Some nice little gifts there to.

Love the different mulled wines and beer

Although some prices are a tad expensive it's only once a year you go. And the fatal keepers also have to make a good profit.

And it really does make me feel all Christmassy and festive.

Can't wait to come again next week I love it so much 🎅🏽🎅🏽🎅🏽🎅🏽

User

Had the most enjoyable evening at Birmingham...brilliant atmosphere, lots of singing and dancing the entertainer/singer kept the crowd thoroughly entertained throughout the evening. We will definitely be back next year. Great selection of both non alcoholic/ alcoholic beverages and food available and quirky stalls. Loved the evening atmosphere and enjoyed being involved in the Christmas party spirit 🎉💃🏻🕺🏻🍻

User

Good market for the Christmas season with lots of little stalls with gifts on. Food stalls are good and the beer is even better.

User

A fantastic buzzing atmosphere,I w as there last night, enjoyed a wheat beer, with my brother, brum was heaving,A cold crisp night lit up by my fellow Brummie revellers, the German market just brings out the Christmas spirit, and puts you in the mood to enjoy the festive season, Happy Christmas

User

Went yesterday. Very busy, good atmosphere queues for food quite long, think we will skip breakfast and have brunch next year before it gets too busy! Felt safe, lots of police and security about. We missed the stall that sells scratchings, anyone find it?

User

We went yesterday (Thursday 7th) when it wasn't hussle n bussle, got served rather quickly which was a bonus, everyone friendly enough, if you can get to go in the week then i think that will be a better experience

User

Very colourful but a little spoilt by lack of choice. There only two German beers available, Hofbrau and a weissbier whose name escapes me. You will also see manyl stalls selling the same things. But if you take the time to go all the way round it you will find some nice things to eat, drink and buy.

You can also haggle a bit when buying trinkets

To sum up, enjoyable but not outstanding.

User

There needs to be more variety of stalls and not alot of repatition as you would spend more time on the market than the big stores. It's first time I have been to Birmingham one and may stay at home in Manchester were I know there is variety.

User

It's okay for what it is. If only people stopped going on about German markets like it's best thing on the planet. Then maybe my expectation would be less and I would have been delighted when I got their.

User

First time I have been.

I will give 5* for atmosphere.

Stalls were nice but pricey.

I was disappointed as the stalls were all selling exactly the things and set up exactly the same.

It wasn't as big as I expected either.

Yes, it is very busy but it's a Christmas market so if you don't like crowds or lots of people I suggest going earlier as it seemed to get busier late afternoon.

Glad I went but now I have done it probably won't go again.

User

Been most years do really enjoy it very very busy tho this year and the stalls were selling the same things and it’s so over priced, little disopointed that you couldn’t get a normal beef burger but still a great day

User

Went for the 1st time yesterday... food was good quality a little pricey... drinks very expensive especially the mulled wine. Gift stalls some lovely stuff but shockingly over priced... Chocalate covered marshmallows and cinnamon doughnuts were bloody lovely and a great price too x Very cold yesterday but still enjoyed a nice walk around the market.

User

It was a good day. But the stalls are very repetitive and its just to busy to be able to enjoy it because the space is very narrow and you just can't get through. It is a nice place and its lovely how it's all done.

User

I loved going to the Christmas market how every i found this year was a big let down with the size of it i travelled from south wales and booked a hotel over night stay we had walked around with in less than an hour and it was just repeated stalls all the way big let down next year i will go to bath

User

Billed as the biggest German Christmas Market outside of Austria/Germany - I think not; Manchester is by far and away the bigger, and better market.

It's all about the alcohol here. Food choice is limited to hot dogs and the odd waffle stand.

I thought there were going to be lots more gift/craft stalls, but again I was disappointed.

Having travelled to Birmingham from County Durham, expecting a fantastic Christmas Market experience, I'm afraid to say it was lacking in festive Christmas spirit - even the stall holders looked miserable

User

A much smaller market this year and because it is only on one street - New Street - more people are crammed into a smaller area. Nigh on impossible to walk round at leisure, Building works in front of the library down to the Copthorne Hotel means the top half of the market that is usually there has gone.

Worst year i have ever known

User

Very few of the stallholders were actually German. Most of them appeared to be dodgy Eastern European gypsy-types who just wanted to rip you off - and not even smile while they were doing it. Everything was over-priced and I came away with the feeling that we'd just been taken for mugs. I won't be going again.
