Freestyle Academy Of Dance Description
Students who attend Freestyle Academy of Dance will learn to dance like those in pop videos and the many dance shows that are on television at present. Additionally, clients will work towards dance examiniations, competitions and shows (if they wish) largely in street, freestyle and breakdancing, although other dance styles will be incorporated.
Both street and freestyle dance are popular forms of physical exercise that adopt several steps and movements incorporating arm, head and hand positions to form a dance routine. The great thing about both styles of dance is that the individula dancer can express themselves as there is no formal technique as there is with other dancer styles, it is simply about the translation of sound into movement.

Quick reminder that we have dance rehearsal for our London show tomorrow 10-1. Please arrive promptly as we have a lot to work on in preparation for London. If you park in the car park please ensure you put your registration plate in at reception!
Dancers will need plenty of water and snacks.

I know most of you have advised me how many tickets you require for the Dovehouse theatre show on 22/03/2020 but if you haven’t is it possible you could let me know at your earliest convenience.
Please invite all of your friends and family as this is extremely important in keeping these shows running each year as we’re such a small dance school.

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow’s dance class is for those dancers performing in London only. Please arrive promptly at 5.30pm and the class will finish at 7.30pm (youngsters can be collected at 6.45pm).
Classes will resume on 8th January for the inters and seniors. The classes will be at the usual time with Lydia as I am away that week. Youngsters will start again on 15th January.
Please ensure all bills are up to date by tomorrow evening.

DECEMBER DANCE BILL + INFO
I can’t quite believe that we are already approaching the festive period and we only have a few sessions left for 2019.
It’s that time of the year where we all get together to start rehearsing for our start/finale routines for our Dovehouse Theatre show on 22nd March 2020 (London show is on 15th March 2020). For the next two weeks (4th & 11th Dec) I would like ALL dancers to arrive promptly at 5.30pm where we will learn our start and finale routines....
*Youngsters are expected to stay until 6.45pm
*Inters are expected to stay until 7pm
*Seniors will continue until 7.30pm
🎭 On 18th December I would only like the London dancers to attend as I am really keen to get our dances in motion. All London dancers will be expected to arrive promptly at 5.30pm and stay until 7.30pm (youngsters can be collected at 6.30pm).
I know it’s very difficult to commit to the next couple of weeks but it is extremely important that all dancers try their utmost to attend the sessions as it’s very difficult for us to get together to repeat these dances as an entire group.
Your December dance bill is £TEXTED SEPARATELY Please make payment no later than 11th Dec.

Dance Classes
There is no dance next week as it is half term.
There is no dance on 6th November for the youngsters, but there will be classes with Lydia and Lexy for the Inters and Seniors .

Classes are every Wednesday at dorridge village hall.
The response to dance at the Shaftesbury Theatre has been fantastic. I have now reserved our space and I will text out further details.
DANCE EXAM INFO Wednesday 3rd July 2019
Our yearly dance exams are fast approaching and I’m extremely pleased with everyone’s efforts to date. Please continue to encourage dancers to practice their routines at home as exams this year are a lot earlier than previous years.

Please make payment by 26/06/2019.
Please note the higher the grade the more expensive the exam cost is unfortunately which I have no control over. The I.D.T.A is the leading dance qualification awarding body in the U.K and all exams are recognised.
Please ensure you warm up prior to your exam session.
You must attend 20 minutes before your specified exam time.
