The Masjid was the vision of Hazrat Sufi Mohammed Abdullah Khan Sahib, Khalifah-e-Azam Darbar-i-Alia Ghamkol Sharif. It was built with his help, guidance, and supervision. The foundation of the Masjid was laid on 15th March 1992 by students of Dar Ul Uloom Islamia Rizvia (supplementary school) during the Holy month of Ramadan.
The overall cost of the project amounted to approximately £3. 5 million. Many volunteers kindly donated their labour and skills in the construction of the Masjid. The Holy Qur’an was recited on site, each and every night during the construction period. The Masjid was first utilised on Friday 29th July 1995, when the first Jummah prayer was held, led by Allama Shah Ahmed Noorani Sahib (ra). The Masjid was finally completed in 1996 and has remained the same ever since.
The Masjid is the focal point within the Muslim community and the hub of religious activity, not just within Birmingham, but also, for the whole of the UK. The Masjid, apart from the five daily prayers, is utilised for religious celebrations, lectures, national and international conferences, community and educational purposes.
The Messenger of Allah, Sal'Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, stressed the importance on visiting the Masjid frequently. Abu Hurairah, a Companion of the Prophet, relates that: The Messenger of Allah, Sal'Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said, "For him who proceeds to the Masjid morning or evening, Allah prepares entertainment in Paradise every time he proceeds, morning of evening. "[Sahih Bukhari & Muslim]
"He who makes his ablutions at home and then walks to one of the houses of Allah to discharge of obligation imposed on him by Allah, one step of his wipes out a sin and another step raises his status. " [Sahih Muslim]

The Arabic for Teens course is aimed at the younger generation to become introduced to the language of the Quran and Sunnah of The Prophet (peace be upon him).
In this one year students will be exposed to a range of vocabulary in the language alongside with fundamental grammatical rules which will enable them to gain a general and basic understanding of the language.
This course also aims to be a base for students to progress to more advanced studies.
Ghamkol Sharif Cookery Club allows children to learn how to cook real nourishing food for all the family! Children have learnt how to cook grown-up recipes from scratch using raw organic ingredients without harmful additives.
Over the last 6 months the children have learnt about the relationships between Islam, food, ethics, and environment whilst having fun!
They have learnt and developed specialist and traditional food preparation techniques such as sourdough bread-making and fermentation to improve health.
One Year Arabic Course for Adults (16+) for men and women taught by male and female teachers (segregated classes).
This one year course will cover various aspects within the language to give students a strong base to progress on to more advanced studies.

Took my son to the Suhba Academy today and he absolutely loved it! He's an only child and hasn't been to anything of this sort before, I must admit I was rather apprehensive sending him but he's come home beaming with happiness and you are obviously doing a very good job!

My son enjoyed his week at Suhba Academy and is looking forward to attending in Easter holidays In shaa Allah. Very well organised and the kids enjoyed a party today too with gifts from the teachers. Such a great gesture from the academy
My children have benefited so much from the workshops held at the education centre which has been provided for free for us to use. Keep up the good work! May Allah SubhanaWaTa'ala increase you all in this life and the next.
Mashallah! Very few places are open 24/7 and are as helpful as Ghamkol Sharif. One of the few Masjids that has clean carpets and facilities, with soap and toilet paper. :)
MashaAllah massive mosque covered area with plenty of parking for cars, friendly management.
Huge mosque with an absolute phenomenal architecture. May Allah subahanahu Ta'ala bless Sufi Abdullah Khan Saab who dedicated most of his life to this masjid and the message and works of Hazrat Khwaja Zinda Peer Saab of Ghamkol Shareef in Kohat Pakistan.
Sufi Abdullah Khan Saab have been laid to rest in the grounds of this grand mosque.

Celebrating cold hearted murderers like Qadri shouldn't be part of job.
I did have a longer discussion with someone from this Mosque and they were very reasonable and open to discussion.Hence I'm uprating this Mosque to 4 stars.
Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah bless him, is well known to have withdrawn from combat when he got angered by an adversary spitting at him. He said if he killed the man when angry, it would be from his ego, and he knew he would be questioned by Allah on account of that. The adversary embraced Islam after witnessing this... That is our Islam.
There are no free weekend or evening Arabi language structured language classes for adults
There are no free Tajweed classes for adults
There are no free Fiqh classes for adults
Are there any regular Dars e Nizami classes
I request that the Masjid committee use a large proportion of the Muslim funds collected on educating and spreading the knowledge of Islaam free to Muslims and non Muslims.
Supporting a murderer just shows how far from Islam some Muslims have become. This man was trusted to protect anothers life Instead he betrayed that trust and murdered him. This is the act of a Khawarij not of a follower of our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon Him) who always fulfilled his trusts.
I used to attend the mosque's events in the past, and benefited from its spiritual ambience, but it is very distressing to find out that the mosque has supported Mumtaz Qadri. To rebrand the murder of an unarmed man as heroism really is beyond the pale. How can anyone recommend this as a place of guidance and learning? Please reconsider your stand, please listen to your fellow Muslims who are very distressed and angered by this.
