Today is World Chimpanzee Day and here at Go Ape Cannock we have been celebrating humans closest cousin.
On the 14th July 1960 Dr. Jane Goodall first studied Chimpanzees in the wild in what is now Gombe Stream National Park, Tanzania.
Here is our chimp tribute, created and named Bruce by our fabulous work experience student Chloe with a little help from instructors Katy and Vicky!

Here at Go Ape! Cannock we have decided to CHALLENGE THE MANAGEMENT in as many ways as possible.
Here we have site manager Claire, and instructors Holly and Molly 'pulley-ing' themselves up the longest zip wire that we have here at site (something that we do every day to open the course!).
A superb effort from all involved but Molly 'zipped' into first place, managing to climb 260 metres in just 2 minutes and 5 seconds.
... 1-0 to the instructors. Keep your eyes peeled for the next challenge and good luck to all involved - can the management claw it back!? Watch this space!

Rich, our resident photographer and longest standing instructor (bar a couple of months break) is moving onto pastures new. ūüď∑ūüď∑
Starting in 2013, when we were a small staff of 8 or 9, Rich has been an instructor on all of our activities as well as being a huge part of the team. With his sense of humour and ‚Äėthat‚Äô hat, he has been a continued source of entertainment for the team, whilst being a great friend to many.... ūüźíūüźí Rich is also a very talented photographer (the talent we are losing him for) and has taken some fantastic images of the site over the years. (scroll through to see just a few)
He first started off with a camera back in 1999 shooting for regional newspapers before his work started being used in the national press. He spent a few years chasing celebs round the world as well as shooting for magazine features. After having a break, his love of photography has had him back into freelance work shooting pieces for magazines, PR and corporate clients, big retailers and television shooting lots and lots of portraits. As Rich’s talent is so much in demand, he has decided to leave the forest and continue to instruct and entertain people in another way!
Although we are very sad to see Rich go, we wish him every success and best wishes! What an amazing experience. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We will back again ÔŅĹ

We visited today for my husbands birthday treat on the adult course , he really enjoyed the whole experience , the instructors were very helpful . My 3 kids 13, 9,6 also tried the Treetops course and had a great time , again the instructors were brilliant with them, special thanks to Tom who looked after Molly (9) so well when she got upset and scared . Would highly recommend for adults and children .

We visited today for a walk but we were able to use our gift vouchers bought as a Christmas gift as there was availability despite it being late in the day. Our boys aged 7 and 8 had a fantastic hour but what really made the experience was the amazing staff. Kathryn made the boys feel at ease with the fitting of the kit and the safety briefing but it was a different story when the youngest went up! He got nervous and upset but Kathryn encouraged him all of the way and went up there to help him. Then when he refused to do the zip wire (despite us knowing he would love it once he had done it once) Lee was brilliant at encouraging him to do it and then with our support from the ground got him to do it! And guess what he then wanted to do it a million times! All staff were excellent but Kathryn and Lee shone for us and completely made our boys' day. They really are an asset to Go Ape. See you next time!

We had a hen party here at the weekend, we did go ape and Segway experience. The staff were fab, friendly helpful and patient, we had the best day ever and the hen loved every second, I am also petrified of heights and thanks to the staff and my friends,I was able to combat those fears. Thank you so much for a such a great day xÔŅĹ

Visited here for the first time today and what an amazing day we had. Your staff are brilliant and so supportive to anyone (like myself) who would struggle to keep going on it. But had lots of encouragement and due to my accessibility needs had Hannah with us all day. Thank you so much for making it such an enjoyable day and challenging me both physically (in more ways than one) and mentally. Really wanted to give up a couple of times but didn't because of your staff <3 Can't recommend this place enough.

Such a fabulous adventure from start to finish.. for all ages!!! Im 53!!!.. I did the tree tops adventure and was surprised that I got through it in one piece (im getting on and my confidence with heights isn't great) but was so chuffed that I got to the end without having to be assisted off any apparatus.... must say..the staff are amazing.... Sarah, who did our induction was very clear and encouraged us throughout all safety aspects...whilst also putting us at ease without making any of us feel silly for asking any questions or being hesitant... lovely lady.. well done.

At each stage of my adventure i couldn't help but notice the amount of staff on the ground giving support, encouragement and guidance.. this made me feel even more safe... each team member I saw always had a smile and was constantly engaging with others on the course.. you do a fab job all of you...

I cant recommend this centre enough...it was spotless and even whilst on the ground each member of go ape team had a smile and something nice to say to its customers...I cant wait to go back and try perhaps the segways.. (closer to the ground haha)

My six year old loved it today! Great value for money and the staff were so friendly. Well worth it!

I went with my family on Sunday and although I didn't get too far on the tree top challenge because i realised after climbing the rope ladder and stepping on the platform high up in the tree that i am actually petrified of heights. My family all 9 of them, however stayed the whole course and did amazing. The instructor whose name is Alan (a lovely Scottish man) talked me back down successfully and was so lovely. I was so embarrassed but he spoke to me and reassured me that at least I'd tried and got up the tree in the first place which wasn't too bad for someone who was scared of heights ÔŅĹ. He also arranged for a refund for me, I really didn't expect that at all , as it was down to me that I didn't continue. I would definitely recommend go ape Cannock as a fantastic day out. It's a great family bonding experience, great fun and the staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. I'd definitely go again but personally I'll try something a bit closer to the ground next time ÔŅĹÔŅĹÔŅĹ

I took my 5 year old son here for a ‚Äúboys day out‚ÄĚ and we both loved it. The course was the perfect size for an hour‚Äôs activity and the instructors were friendly and fun. We will definitely be coming back with the rest of the family in tow.

Great place with really helpful and friendly staff. If you get the weather it is really a fantastic place to go to get outdoors with your kids. Will definitely come back ÔŅĹ

Had a fantastic time here on Sunday with my sister and 3 daughters, our ages ranged from 24 to 57 and we all completed the course! Safety talk and training was excellent and we wer then left to go it alone which was fine by us, we knew we only had to shout if help was needed. The course was tough at times but you have a great sense of achievement at the end. Fantastic!
