been there to day with my husband for Easter sunday for dinner loverly place nice decor bar staff were quick and very polite then sat to a table then a loverly young lady came to take orders m. my hubby had fish chips and peas apart from is batter a little over cook he enjoyed it then i had a park roast which was loverly really enjoyed it will deffo go back and will tell all friends and family that its a loverly place many thanks and well done to all the team see you soon wendy andy newman

We went here for dinner yesterday. 5 of us 2 adults and 3 children. Service was excellent waiting staff were very attentive and brought all our food out at the same time, we've eaten in a lot of places where we've had members of our group waiting for food whilst others had finished theirs. Not here though, lovely food and great service and the prices are reasonable too. 10/10 from us.

We have visited the barley mow a number of times and every meal has been lovely , staff are great and always a good atmosphere , good value for money and we will keep returning keep up good work

Visited the play zone for my daughters birthday and I absolutely can’t fault the service from start to finish by (Erika) the lovely girl who served us, nothing was to much work for her, given she was completely on her own. We ordered food, service was quick and the food was nice. All in all a very enjoyable evening out, and the kids loved it too!

The service yesterday by all the staff was fantastic they could not do enough for you, even to looking for my son to give after getting him a blue balloon as there wasn’t any left. Food was absolutely lovely 3 different meals and nothing to complain about with any, 100% will be going again, why look out of town when this is on your door step ���

Had my daughters 3rd birthday party in the play shed. She had a fantastic day as did all her friends. She Loved every minute of it, and slept well that night � The staff couldn’t do enough they were so helpful and the food was amazing. Thank you again.

Had a great time for the royal celebrations, the food was great and the pony ride was an amazing treat for the boys!- Wendy & team have done a great job, will deffo be back soon- thank you :)

Took 1hour before meals came then mine was an extra 10 minuets due to waiting for more chips to cook, steak was good in the end. Didn’t risk a pudding but was told not enough cream for coffees & pudding. The waitress was very pleasant.

Food was good when it came but there were clearly staff issues with the production of it - we were advised there was a 30 minute wait bit it was longer... apart from that the experience was ok..

Won't be returning. Ordered just 2 starters and it took an hour to be served to us. One of the starters didn't have everything on it. Asked the waitress, the rest never came out so we went to pay. Took 15 mins to pay as only 1 staff member can use the till at once - by that point we really wanted to leave. Disappointed.

Disaster from start to finish. There was what we assumed to be a staff meeting at the entrance of the pub. We had to wait about 5/10 minutes to be greeted, even though this meeting was going on just behind us and 3 waitresses even walked past us to go into the kitchen. We finally got seated by someone, but it definitely wasn’t a warm welcome by anyone on the premises.



We were seated right behind a massive party of 12/13 people even though the whole restaurant was dead and empty. We had to wait 10 minutes for a drink order while all 3/4 members of staff concentrated on the big table. We ordered our food at the same time just to get things moving a bit quicker as we had been in the building for 20 minutes and had only been seated. We had starters, I shared a pate which tasted lovely but we wanted some more bread. The waitress walked past from the table in front to another room multiple times and not once did she give us eye contact, after 10 minutes of watching i had to shout “excuse me” at her just to get her attention.



We finally ate our starters and then our mains closely followed which yet again mine tastes lovely. Although my boyfriend loves salt on his food but we noticed the salt shaker was empty and so was every other shaker near by! We decided just to leave it rather than wait another 10 minutes to get someone’s attention.



We decided it was then time to pay the bill as it was getting late but yet again we were sat there waiting for a waitress to appear, 15 minutes later we decided to just to go the bar. But surprise surprise there was no one behind the bar but a que of people waiting, after 10 minutes of standing there the waitress who showed us to our table appeared behind the bar and started serving people, due to us being the last ones we had to wait a little while.



There was no sense of urgency, or even care, if was 19:30-20:00 when we arrived so this could be the reason we were brushed aside so much, as someone who works in hospitality there is no excuse to stop caring just because it’s nearly closing time. Especially as I’ve eaten here quite a few times and it’s normally great but tonight was a shambles and it wasn’t even busy.

Will never return. I did enjoy brining my son here but came yesterday and had a mare. There was a table of 7, ordered a rump steak medium rare, came out flat as your hat and cooked well done. The waitress took this back and came out with apparently a different steak which was still not medium rare. I gave up and started eating it. It was inedible. It was just like chewing a thin piece of rubber. Left most of it. Then one of us tried to order a pudding to be spoken to with attitude saying she couldn’t do it so he came back to the table helped someone else with there pudding then the pudding came out when she’d said she couldn’t do it. Fair enough to the manager he refunded the steak and didn’t charge for the pudding. But today my son has a bad belly and is being sick.. and the other.. which is a rarity for him, so wouldnt put it past being the food. never chance eating here again. But fair play to the manager

We came for a meal on Friday! The prawn starter was swimming in water and the bread had relish on like it had be used of someone else plate! Then when we received are main's we where missing one of are sides of cauliflower cheese! When it came it was swimming in water and raw! And the other cauliflower cheese was mouldy! When we told are waitress she said o yes I will take them of the bill! No sorry and no explanation! Definitely will not be eating here again!

Tbh I don’t even want to give it 1 star! A party of 13 of us came today & the food and service was absolutely terrible! Raw food, cold and very fatty streak, children chicken nuggets was raw. Service from the waiter was horrendous slamming our plates on the table. When we informed the manger of our problems he said “I’ve only been the manager here for 2 months you’ve got expect some fat on the steak” Yes fair enough some fat, but not what we had on our plates! he didn’t want to take responsibility for the problems we had. The manger was so rude and offered one of the member of the party outside for a fight! I wouldn’t NOT recommend this pub to anyone, if your thinking about going here, DONT! Just go add we had to wait over an hour for this nasty food, we understand as a big party we’d have to wait but not this long! Then when the food came out there was one person bringing it out and put it this way, someone had finished there meal before everyones got brought out. Overall customer service skills and food out of this food was horrendous. Everything will be reported to area manger.

Inedible food! A group of us visited yesterday, disaster from start to finish. Firstly no prosecco, along with a range of main dishes. The fish mixed grill was awful, never had fish as bad as that, requested new potatoes, instead served with salad and peas! The prawns resembled rubber, the salmon burnt, the Lasagne was also burnt. Puddings were ok if you like mouldy cream (which stank by the way). No problem with the serving staff, it was very obvious how embarrassed they were. They were very apologetic and ended up having over £120 taken off the bill!! The toilets were disgusting. Thanks but never again �

Have eaten at the Barley Mow a number of times but yesterday's visit was by far the worst. Booked a table for 5 adults and 2 children. The food was reasonable, when it finally arrived but the service was far from satisfactory. We were shown our table fairly quickly but I'm afraid the service went down hill quickly from then. We did not have a designated server. We had to ask for our orders to be taken then ask again when they were arriving. In all a meal that would normally taken around an hour ended up at two and a quarter. The staff seemed to be rushed of their feet but getting no where. Not a good experience. If it wasn't for the children's play area, I doubt if we will be returning.

Awful. Took two growing lads with healthy appetites, portion sizes disgusting. The lasagne was in a small tray , not at all filling. I had jacket potato which was barely warm. Little bit of dried up lettuce on the side.very disappointing , wont be going back

Awful. 8 of us went here on Thursday evening and it was an ordeal from start to finish! It started off with our drink orders being wrong, then we waited almost an hour and a half for our meals. When the meals eventually arrived the steaks were grey and cold. A salmon steak was positively anorexic, and the risotto had a tiny amount of rice and was piled high with rocket to disguise it. All the food was cold and mostly inedible. The waitress was brilliant and knocked money off the bill, and gave us free desserts. The table next to us also sent their food back. The manager didn’t have the courage to come and sort the problems out and left it entirely to his very young workforce to deal with. This place used to be great, but it’s now run-down and desperately in need of a new chef and a refurb. The toilets are disgusting and you can smell them as soon as you walk through the door. You’re better off going to the Wimpy next door!

Awful meal today. Seated at 1.45, meals finally arrived at 3.25.

General manager argumentative and accused me of ‘slating’ him while we were having a private conversation on our table.

Rump steak like leather. Chicken breast was awful processed slice with a texture that could only be described as rubber or gristle.

No stuffing or roasters for our Sunday roasts.

Meals uneaten by still the manager argued back and attempted to give me a run down of his kitchen process and advised if I had order different meals they might have been out quicker - as that’s a satisfactory excuse. Advised me aware of issues with steak - therefore why still being served?

Awful experience made far far worse by horrendous attitude of the manager.
