We offer a complete range of coffins and caskets made from traditional woods through to more unusual and ecological materials. More and more families are becoming increasingly aware of the environment, and of the damage burning fossil fuels and carbon materials has on the climate. LifeArt coffins reduce air pollution by 70% compared to partial board coffins and reduce green house gases by 87%. Speak to a colleague for more information.

Temperature anomalies since 1880 to the near present. The environment and global warming are (forgive the pun) hot topics at the moment and the funeral profession to some extent is being forgotten. Currently approximately 80% of funerals in the UK are cremation and the majority of coffins cremated are of wood based materials. So not only are we burning fossil fuels and emitting carbons from wood products we are also releasing harmful substances into the atmosphere that are us...ed in the production of the coffins. Its time to make that change and help the future environment. There are alternatives to wooden coffins, our range of LifeArt coffins are made from an environmentally friendly material called enviro board which even looks similar to traditional wooden coffins.

Friday we were visited by the National Association Of Funeral Directors. All of our branches are regularly inspected by the NAFD to ensure our standards are high, Our pricing policy is clear and transparent and our facilities are fit for purpose for the care of the deceased. When choosing a funeral director it is essential they are part of a trade organisation such as NAFD. They are there to protect you and make sure the services provided are good quality and the company is reputable. After all there is nothing more precious than a a family member. Only a registered funeral director can display the NAFD logo.

Pre-paid funeral plans have recently hit the headlines in the media and fair to say taken somewhat of a beating. As with most products and services there can be pitfalls for customers who listen to misguided advice or purchase without doing some basic home work. As a regulated provider we would recommend funeral plans in the right circumstances as they have a number of benefits for both the policy holder and their families. Probably the most significant benefit is that by pu...rchasing a funeral plan at the current rate secures the price from any further increase. In turn this protects your estate from further erosion later on when the time comes to pay for a funeral. Another benefit is more of an emotional one. As a funeral director of nearly 30 years the questions I must ask families to create a funeral by their very nature will be upsetting. By using a funeral plan these questions have already been asked and answered by you the policy holder. This means the funeral is the one you want for yourself. When choosing a provider be sure to use a company who are members of the “Funeral Planning Authority” (FPA). This will ensure the company and the trusts they create are clear, honest and robust. We work closely with the FPA and are supporting mandatory regulation of the funeral plan profession. Things to consider when looking for a Funeral plan product from a regulated provider. Make sure you are purchasing a Pre-paid funeral plan. Some products use “Funeral” in their title but are more of an insurance policy that will pay a cash sum on your death. They will be sold by a monthly premium, which in most cases with be far less than a funeral plan paid for by direct debit. The clear difference however is that you will pay a premium indefinitely and if you cancel the policy you will receive none of the money paid in back. Another shortfall of these types of policy is that should you die within the first 12-24 months you may not get back all of the money you have paid in. A Funeral plan does what it says on the tin. You are paying for a funeral service before you wish to use it. One thing you must check is that the plan is fully guaranteed. Guaranteed means the funeral director costs and the costs of the minster, crematorium and doctors is included and will not rise. If the plan uses the term “CONTRIBUTION” there could be an additional payment required when the plan is used. Your provider will explain this to you. All Plans provided by us are guaranteed so you can be confident everything is taken care of. Larger companies use a set plan scheme with names like “Bronze”, “Silver”, and “Gold” we on the other hand feel you should have exactly what you want. This is why we discuss with you what you would like include and what you would like not to include. We call the bespoke. Contact one of our funeral homes and speak to one of our team for clear, unbiased and no obligation advice.
