About Heyday
Heyday offer inspiring and playful art workshops for children and adults at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.
Heyday Description
All children are intuitively creative, to them discovery and play are second nature. At Heyday we harness this mindset through dynamic art workshops encouraging them to learn and create with confidence whilst having lots of fun.

Children just need a space to be creative without judgement or expectation sometimes so they can express the stuff that’s hard to put into words #mindfulnessworks #wellbeing4kids

This is what family events @shrewsburymuseum are all about! Getting the whole family involved and making the most of what’s on offer 😊 spot the mini bear! Thank you to the hundreds of you that came at the weekend to support our 5th birthday! There was so much hat making, bubble blowing, cake decorating, cake eating, cake painting and so, so much badge making that we’re having a well earned rest today! Please drop in this week to carry on filling in the ‘5 things I love about SM&AG’ postcard, the winners will be announced next weekend. @ Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery
Sometimes you’ve just got to shake things up so instead of looking inside the museum we took the drawing boards outside and did some speed drawings of the wonderful architecture that is Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery then we explored printmaking using found objects...

What a wonderful morning we spent at the museum with heyday, thanks so much Sasha. Amie loved the fact that she could just create as she wanted and 'go with the flow'! We will be back. X
We've been to 2 sessions& they've been great! my 4 year old has loved exploring colour and paint in such fun and different ways. thanks
We recently had my lego loving sons 8th birthday party at the museum whilst the Lego exhibition was on.
Sasha facilitated the party & she was amazing, the children had an incredible time and she kept over 20 children occupied, interested & focused for a whole two hours which imho is no mean feat. Would highly recommend to anyone either looking for their child to attend one of Heydays art sessions or for booking a party x
We are really enjoying these sessions - the activities are great, often tied in with pieces in the museum and lots of fun. Great learning opportunities too. Brilliantly accessible for 2-4 year olds. Highly recommended.
My just 3 year old and I love this session. It's great to do something that is planned and involves the children learning, without them realising. I'm sure Sasha structures her class around the EYFS curriculum but allows them the freedom and independence to explore and be as creative as they can. Sasha also has a lovely, natural rapport with the children- nothing is ever 'wrong' just 'interesting'! The space is beautiful the and toys for them to play with are interactive and creative.
My daughter was a little apprehensive as it was her first time at Heyday but when I came to pick her up afterwards she was transformed ... inspired and very chuffed with what she had achieved. Sasha is a wonderful influence - very supportive and uses fun ideas to coax out creativity... Plus I got time to have a cuppa and read the paper downstairs in the cafe... win win !
My daughter had a great time at Explorers. Such a relaxing and entertaining morning, even though I was covered in yoghurt.
Lovely Christmasy mask-making session this morning. Thank you, Sasha. My girls loved it.
