I am editing this review on the sheer fact that the current manager has bothered to reply to me personally regarding our experience here over a year ago!!

ThatвҖҷs more like a management team пҝҪThe bar and choice of drinks is very good... The bar manager is something else!! Customer service skills are non existent. We went in as a group of 16, 2 colleagues waited ages at the bar for 3 drinks, when he complained to the bar manager he came back with "if you wasn't so polite I wouldn't carry on serving you" I then asked for a cocktail to which the bar manager replied "you must be joking- he's spent last 5 minutes moaning about waiting and now you want a cocktail"!!!! You couldn't believe how crap this mans customer service actually is... He then snatched the 3 drinks of the bar and went to the door men to remove my colleague who complained!!!! Even the door men were embarrassed the man is never right and ruining a nice bar! Obviously not a business that relies on having customers.

Fantastic pub I go in there all the time when its busy too and never have a proplem. If its busy I go to the end of the bar and wait my turn. The landlord is brilliant will change the tv channel over for me and everything the staff pour my drink before I even get to the bar Im there every Monday watching the football with my mate and were very happy with everything. Yes it can get busy on saturday but you got to expect that but ive still never waited long great service keep it up.

It was ok until my husband was asked to leave for 'staggering' we were having a rare night out together, we went there after having a meal so it was late and we both had drank a lot but so had every one else, isn't that why we go to bars? To drink and have a good time? I'm sure there were plenty of people staggering. At this rate it'll last as long as bbq & brews, were in Hereford you can't choose your clientele, very disappointing!

Interesting visit. The decor and layout is superb, the drinks choice is probably the best in Hereford and there was a good atmosphere. I was enjoying myself until my friend was ejected by the manager for a negative review he'd given following him witnessing a case of a manager abusing the staff.

After witnessing the way my friend was handled by the management I'm inclined to believe his review was spot on.

Regardless, the place is nice, the bar and door staff were nice so I do actually recommend going.

We spent a few hours with friends, the drinks were very nice, there is a slight wait at the bar but it was very busy, the really annoying thing is that we were all sat at the table outside to then be surrounded by three doormen asking me to come with them, at that point they asked me to leave! The reason was I was being loud and some people have complained, when I asked who exactly they said they had walked out! We was not the loudest at all! I think there reasons for doing this was totally out of order! And the one found it quite funny!

Lovely place, Management, bar staff and bouncers are another thing!! We were two couples having a quiet drink, on our second round at 9:30pm, we were told they were not serving cocktails!!! So boys carried on to have lager, and went back to drink quietly in the corner, only (like many others), to be asked to leave, with full drinks!!! when asked for a reason, the bouncers could not give it, the bouncers also refused to shown their ID, (which I believe if qualified SIA, is a must) so when I went to look at their badge (so i could complain to Owners of this chain) they struck out at us! at this point i would like to add that my friend (who was not drinking) is also heavily pregnant. If staffing is not sorted out soon, I can not see this place lasting long! Shame as surrounding are lovely....

Garden furniture could do with some love. Asked for negroni but barmaid could not make it as is wasnвҖҷt on the list. She asked what was in it I said Campari she said what sort of drink was that! Eventually went for the preselected tray with no choice of what went on it as it took too long to prepare when busy. Could not get on with bubblegum flavoured gin.

Popped in last night and pretty much walked straight up to the bar, with no one in front of us. Bar was however busy. Wives go sit in the beer garden, we shouldn't be to long. Wait for a bit, can't get served. What staff are about all seem very busy. Wait a bit longer, then a bit longer still. At this point we think we've been stood at the bar for 25 minutes. In all this time no one from the middle section of the bar(between the 2 tills) has even been served. Staff have been mixing drinks in the bit in front of us, but your staff don't look up. How can you know who to serve next if you don't look up.so I ask the one guy 'is anyone serving this area of the bar?'. 'It's nothing to do with him'. Ask someone else, same answer. I just try to confirm if any staff member is covering the middle part of the bar, or am I stood in the wrong bit.



Finally, a staff member comes up to me. Thank goodness. Before I've got to 'pint of Fost.......' he says he won't serve me as I'm being rude to staff (No I wasn't). The wife then says to a staff member about how long we've waited, but is told 'this isn't anything to do with you'. It sort of is! (Bit rude that)



I was not rude to your staff. I had been waiting for about 30 minutes for a drink. I'm aware your drinks take time to mix, but not acknowledging customers who've been stood there for so long is what's rude. To then chuck them out without a drink is damn right offensive. The sugar on top was definitely getting escorted by the door staff to the exit.



We left, went to the Shack, got served immediately and all had a bit of a laugh about it. Don't worry, we won't be back, but I'm pretty sure you won't care.

Lovely atmosphere, decor etc... has the potential to be the place to go in the city. Service time can be slow but you can get over that on a busy night, especially when the manager offered us discounted drinks for the wait a couple of visits a go (nice touch!). However the door staff are horrendous, the horror stories you see in the reviews are certainly true. Hogarth's had music playing in the beer garden and everyone was singing along and not in a rowdy way. Really good atmosphere, everyone enjoying themselves. Security came out and abruptly and rudely told us all to be quiet. They were being particularly rude to one group of lads (not us) so one of our group made a comment to the rest of our group (not even to the security, they just overheard). He was then told to leave and he put his drink down and obliged. As he was doing so another member of the group asked why he was being thrown out and he was told "I'll kick your fucking teeth out" at one point and was thrown out too. All of which was over the top and resulted in our whole group leaving. Also seen a tweet from another lad saying he was dropped by the bouncer on the same night. Amazed some of them have SIA licenses and will be even more amazed if they keep them for long! Shame as its such a lovely place..!
