We had a party here today for my son’s 4th birthday. I couldn’t recommend it enough! All the parents commented how relaxed it was, kids all had a great time and it was hassle free for me! Will definitely be using you again!

User

Stayed in the Premier Inn for two nights and ate breakfast here twice..both days it was lovely...we were seated almost straight away and service was quick and friendly. We ate evening meal here twice aswell and again the service was quick and friendly and the food was lovely and very competitively priced.

User

My son Padraig celebrated his 4th Birthday Party at the Royal Oak ,Bromborough from 10-12 today. I can honestly say it was a beautiful experience and the service level was stellar. From the moment we walked in there was a host to hand, to make sure our son had the best time we could have imagined. Stress free and well executed party planning was at hand here today. A special mention must go to Jen Bather for making it the best party we could have hoped for. It was simply quite amazing Thanks so much xxxxxxx

You are crazy if you dont have your special one's party here!

User

Me and my family have just been to the Royal Oak hungry horse for the breakfast with Santa! There was 14 of us and we were given a lovely big table. Greeted upon arrival and seated. Food was lovely as always and the team were on top of everything. Even with kids running round and stressful busyness of xmas the team keep it together and make sure everyone is Happy. Santa was great and gave the kids a lovely gift and let us take some pictures. Minnie Mouse was also there. We had a lovely morning and a great start to xmas celebrations thankyou so much to the team and we will continue to be regular very happy customers. X

User

Had my son's 2nd birthday party here today and everyone had a ball and an absolute bargain for a party Jen the party host was there for whatever we needed, played pass the parcel etc. Definetly recommend to have your party here!! We'll be back next year!!

User

Accommodated 30+ for a birthday meal staff where fantastic and a plus was vegan ice cream so my diary intolerant niece and nephew could have a dessert with us not many places cater for dairy allergies.

User

We had a nice Sunday lunch, only downside was the roast potatoes were tiny and we only had a few on our plates, we ordered the big plate special, so you must only get 2 tiny roast potatoes if you order the classic size! Apart from that the beef and veg were really tasty. Staff were lovely as usual.

User

Found a quieter table away from noisy children.lol. Chose ordered and received our baguettes within 15 mins. A welcome drink after a hot dry walk. The area was stuffy even with the windows open. A fan or aircon needed for folks who like to eat indoors. Staff very pleasant. I did notice the 2 ladies on a nearby table had a problem with one of their meals and it took over 20 mins to rectify. The waitress was most apologetic and the manager(?) came to offer a free dessert to them.

User

Whilst our food was good the service was shocking, order for 11 for half of food to come out, and on questioning staff they had to print whole order and ask what was missing, had to wait a long time for tables to be cleared and only done so after requesting that they be done and for desserts to be brought out. Table next to us also had orders messed us meaning there children where without meals until half of them had eaten there whole meanl

User

We go here around once a month and we travel from Wallasey to go as it’s usually one of the best. But I was appalled by the service we got yesterday (Sunday) (5pm) so everybody sat down around 15 of us for my Mums birthday and looked at menu and then queued up for 15 mins only to be told there are no Sunday roasts left now a company of this stature this is totally unacceptable and am sure the management won’t be happy about this. I ended up having sausage and mash with peas and the mash was rock hard and the sausage where so dry they was tasteless and the gravy on top had a thick skin, I know everything is pre cooked but surely once been there for a hour it has to be binned this must of been there all day not good. I hope upon our next visit things are improved and this was a one off due to staff shortages as this was a shame for such a nice place.

User

We always go and its good but yesturday was the worst we orded nachos with no cheese so (crisps and dip) no cutlery so we got our own had to stick glassers on to see the BBQ sauce on the chicken fingers and for the salad apart from no dressing on it can't call it a salad a few leaves and chicken very disappointed i asked if there was dressing on it and one of the staff said yes when there clearly wasnt i had to ask for more even though nothing was on it very poor meal.

User

Very basic slapped together shite honestly don't get me wrong I'm not expecting Gordon Ramsay to pop out the kitchen with my food but it was like an 8 year old had cooked it an thrown it together literally

User

Go here all the time and went last year boxing day. Really disappointed this year as when we arrived table wasn't set up and we were given our mains before our starters so mains had to go back until we eventually got our starters also received mains without peppercorn sauce until we reminded them you got it with the order also kids disappointed with puddings as it involved 2 dollops of ice cream in a wafer boat when we asked for mixed ice cream and no sauces or anything else on ice cream. I've never given the royal oak a bad review but today I've got to say the food and service wasn't anything like the previous visits and I will think twice about going there again after today

User

We Went to the Royal Oak on Saturday 9th of September. Ordered starters then mains was advised it would easier to order all together has this would slow down our food arriving !! Ordered chicken with Piri piri sauce this has come separately in the past in a dipping pot, but this time very thing was covered in it, and it was extremely hot and overpowering, we weren't the only people to say this, the party on the next also complained about it. Food finished we ordered desserts for the children. One had dognuts with a chocolate dipping sauce, the dognuts were frozen when they arrived. I complained and they were reluctantly taken away they were brought back pipping hot !!! Obviously they had been placed in a microwave for too long, when I told the waitress her attitude was less then helpful she ignored me and walked away leaving us with a pudding that was streaming hot, it was not suitable for a two year old child, we tasted them and frankly I was happy the baby had decided he no longer wanted them. I found the staff who were waiting on the tables rude and less then helpful. There was numerous complaints whilst were there regarding tables having reserved signs on them, some of which were two hours + after the time specified, and tables that had obviously not been cleared and cleaned all afternoon. I know it's pub, but if your going to serve food then they should endeaver to do this properly. We were left feeling disappointed, I can honestly say I won't be rushing back this I would not recommend the food or the service following this experience. I rate it extremely poor value for money.

User

Waited for table to be cleared from previous occupants for over 20mins, so did it myself. Ordered a 9oz sirloin and a 24oz Megasaurus steak. Sirloin to be medium and the Mega to rare, Sirlion was well done to the point of cremated, the magasaurus is 2x 12oz rumps the first was fine the second was raw. After a quite word with a waiter the poor lad returned and told me Chef says it's rare( it wasn't even blue!). To the Chef the main difference between rare and raw is Heat! If it cold in the middle it's RAW!!

Poor!!

This week has met with record good and bad service. Yesterday I ordered a meal in Morrisons at Saltney, and as I finished paying for the meal, it emerged within 0.5 seconds (beating 1.5 seconds in Kensington, Liverpool McDonalds after a complaint). Tonight I took my 15 year old grandson, Christopher Thompson, for a meal at the Royal Oak, Bromborough (Hungry Horse), which took over 75 minutes to appear without any prior warning of delay. Meal was good on arrival, but on a school night we would have left much before 75 minutes.

User

The worst service I have ever had!!!!

The warning signs where there from the start. Fristly it took them 20mins to find our pre-ordered Christmas menu choices, which turn up in the folder where they kept bookings for the Christmas menu, who would of thought it!

Starters came out in waves of 3 plates at a time in 4-5 minute intervals. After finishing our starters and waiting half an hour , before we had to tell them we where ready for our mains. Then after another half an hour they also came out in waves.

However the plates from the staters where still on our table despite have the hour to clean them. We did also notice the tables around hadn't been cleared in the 3 and half hours we where there. And again we had another long wait after finishing, for our sweets

We where told the manager was sorting out or food after asking for the sweets for a 2nd time 30 mins after finishing our mains. And yet in the half hour it took after that to put brownies in a bowl we could see him aimlessly wondering around, avoiding the area we where sat in. The sweets where just placed on the middle of the table on a bar tray and left for us to hand out.

User

I’m usually pretty tolerant when it comes to restaurants/pubs in general, but this experience was beyond appalling.

We struggled to find a clear/clean table - literally every one in the house had unfinished food on it, not to mention spilled drink. The floors were littered with burger buns, wrappers and general trash.

The woman who took my order at the bar was unpleasant and seemed to relish telling me that certain things I wanted were unavailable. The cutlery in the bucket deposited on our table was simply revolting - congealed blobs covered more or less all the knives and forks. Upon pointing this out and requesting clean ones, the waitress barely uttered sorry.

I appreciate that you make allowances at establishments that offer food and drink very cheaply, but the abysmal conditions I found in here were inexcusable.

User

Breakfast with Santa- Breakfast arrived after 55 mins (booking was for 10am) food arrived cold/lukewarm. Staff response was that they plated it up as soon as the chef was ready! Not a great experience for the start of our Christmas celebrations.
