A bit of change today as I helped Core Driver Training with some LGV category C1 driver training. Sam went and smashed her driving test (the test, not the van! ๐Ÿ˜‰) with a very good drive this afternoon! She can now start her 43 weeks of training to become a paramedic with EMAS! #coredrivertraining #EMAS

Congratulations to Marco for passing your LGV category C driving test this morning! A very good drive deserves a pass result from the examiner and that's what you got. Now, get that digicard applied for (can't believe you haven't already done that ๐Ÿ˜‰) and get more of that lovely beer delivered, consientiously saving the nation from dehydration in this beautiful weather! ๐Ÿป #greeneking #ianmarkwickdrivertraining

Congratulations to Dan for passing your category C+E driving test this morning with almost a clear round (how fast can you drive in a 20mph speed limit ๐Ÿ˜‰)! Well done! Now you can get even more pallets on the artic, delivering, collecting and supplying quality pallets to the supply chain.

The fruits of the toils were a very happy Jemma who passed her LGV category C1 test at her first attempt! She's worked very hard after travelling all the way up from Northampton and got the test result that she deserved! We wish her all the best with her career change to joining East Midlands Ambulance Service next month! #firsttimepass #ianmarkwickdrivertraining #coredrivertraining

A bit of a change this week as I have been doing some LGV category C1 training for a highly respected training business. Core Driver Training Ltd specialise in offering LGV category C1 driver training (they do much more too) for people wanting to join the ambulance service. Ambulances are classed as category C1 vehicles and it is a requirement to have this driving entitlement on your licence as part of the application process to join the ambulance service as a technician or paramedic. If you passed your car test before 1997, you also got categories B+E, C1, C1E, D1 & D1E, so this wasn't an issue but if you passed after then you are restricted to category B that limits you to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes - no heavy trailers, minibusses or large vans/small lorries!

Yesterday was a very different day, when Sam had an artic driving experience as part of her 40th birthday celebrations! Her sister, Sarah, arranged this for her after she passed her module 4 Driver CPC, category C and C+E tests earlier this year (all first time passes!) with Ian Markwick Driver Training and has just got her first job with Eddie Stobart! Their dad is a retired artic driver, so it is probably in their blood! Sam is seen driving the lorry at the off road area that is usually used for manoeuvring practice, with her son in the passenger seat keeping a watchful eye on her and making sure she does as good a job as he had done earlier when he was behind the wheel!

It's been a hot week and it looks like it's going to be the same next week. We've managed to keep cool with the air-con dealing with the outside heat, keeping our cab a nice place to be! #Scania #Aircon #IanMarkwickDriverTraining

Well done to Liam for another first time pass of his LGV category C+E driving test this morning with an almost clear round! He's worked hard to achieve a really good standard of driving that he is to be proud of! He can now go and get even more of those heavy rolls of bubble wrap delivered! ๐Ÿ˜œ Whilst it was scorching hot outside, we enjoyed the cool climate that the air conditioning created in the cab! โ„๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜˜ #Scania #aircon

A big congratulations to James for passing his Driver CPC practical test this morning. Now, he can finally drive artics on the road in a professional capacity! James had acquired rights to his Driver CPC qualification when it came out in September 2009 but as he wasn't driving lorries in a professional capacity then, he didn't do any Driver CPC periodic training (you have to have completed 35 hours within the five year period) and therefore, let his CPC qualification expire. He had the option of completing thirty five hours of periodic CPC training or do a theory and practical test to regain his Driver CPC qualification. James chose the latter of the two options which cost him less time away from work and was cheaper too! Well done James - no more driving tests now, you've passed the lot! :)

Marek showed his examiner exactly what he could do with a lorry this afternoon and got a first time pass on his category C+E driving test with a totally clear round - that's absolutely no driver faults at all during a fifty minute drive on the road, his reverse exercise and his uncouple & recouple exercise! ๐Ÿ˜ Now, you can't get better than that! ๐Ÿ˜€ But, who's photo bombing on the second picture? ๐Ÿค”

User

Another first time pass for Sarah this morning with her LGV category C+E driving test! Just one driver fault recorded on the road makes for a very high standard of driving indeed! So, that's a first time pass with her Driver CPC module 4 test (100% pass mark), a first time pass with her category C test and this morning's test just makes up the whole set of brilliance! ๐Ÿš› Well done Sarah!

User

Congratulations to Mr Patrick Shannon for passing his PCV category D1 test this afternoon with a totally "clear round" - that's absolutely no driver faults recorded over the whole test! As Patrick passed his car test "just" (๐Ÿค”) before 1997, he had acquired rights to drive a minibus but there was the code "101" which restricted his minibus driving to "Not for for hire or reward" and has had to have a medical, pass three theory tests and take his Driver CPC practical test and his practical driving test - all to drive a vehicle that he can already drive! I wish Patrick all the best in his new adventure, sharing his fantastic knowledge with others! As you can see from the pictures, he was rather happy to have completed his test. ๐Ÿค—

User

Congratulations to Mr. Marco Ricci for passing your Driver CPC practical test this morning with an ever so impressive score of 100%! Now, you can't get better than that! ๐Ÿ˜€

User

Congratulations to Mr. James Mattison for passing your LGV category C driving test this morning! ๐Ÿ˜€ The sun was shining, you had your shades with you and you showed the examiner a shining example of a proper and professional driver with an almost clear round! ๐Ÿ˜Ž All the best for your driving career and for moving onto page 48 of the driver's handbook! ๐Ÿ˜‰

User

Congratulations to James Mattison for getting a brilliant pass result at his Driver CPC practical demonstration test this morning just in time before it started to rain - hence the picture taken in the cab to preserve his pass certificate! Please note the shades - despite the relentless rain that followed! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

User

Congratulations to Shane Montgomery for passing your CPC module 4 test this morning with a brilliant test mark. You showed the examiner that you can do it - and you did it! ๐Ÿš›

User

Very proud to have helped Starbuck Transport with the decals on this outstanding Scania topline. Looking very, VERY smart indeed!

User

On the way out from the traditional "Day one stop at The Limes' Cafe" for a brew, we couldn't help but admire this magnificent Bentley that was parked outside. After much deliberation, we couldn't decide whether its driver was as exhilerated after driving it as this week's trainees were after their first two drives in the category C training vehicle! ๐Ÿ˜‰
