Into The Woods Description
We are a small family run business based in a small workshop in the rural county of Herefordshire.
We design and hand-make personalised Oak furniture, furnishings and gifts.
Just good old British Oak, sourced from sustainable, local FSC certified saw mills. The Oak we use is hand selected, so we can be sure of the quality of the timber.
We make use of all of the wood too. Whether selling the waste as firewood, or the chippings collected as sawdust.
We are always on the look-out for more wood, especially unique pieces with character or age. So if you have any knocking around that no longer has a home, then please contact us. We are willing to pay or donate to a charity on your behalf.
We sell via e-Bay, Etsy, and more recently through the 'Handmade for Amazon' initiative. We also publish pictures of everything we make here on our Facebook site. We also have a very active Pinterest page crammed full of things that inspire us. You can find it at www. pinterest.com/intothewoods12
So if you're local (or not) and see anything you like, then we'd love to make it for you. If there is something you'd love that you can't see, give us a shout. We are more than happy to make bespoke items to your specification.
We will be updating our Facebook page regularly with new pictures and info on products we make, so check back regularly to see if there's something that floats your boat. If you have any ideas, please pass your inspiration on, as we are always on the lookout for fun, unique, and exciting projects.
Due to the unique nature of wood and its individual grain patterns, every item we make is a true one off, personalised or not. Making each item extremely personal.

Some photos of a pair of memory boxes I made recently, for a customer. This time with the finish on.
Solid oak, with lapped dovetails, and brass fittings. Solid oak lid with book-matched hand-cut oak veneered top, with a simple name engraving. 6mm hardwood plywood base fitted into a rebated groove on all 4 sides. Finished in teak oil, and then given a coat of bees wax to the outside.
Really pleased with how these turned out. They measure 47cm x 37cm x 22cm deep, so are quit...e large. Though, could be made to any size really, from toy box size, to pencil case, to anywhere in between.

Another one finished and out the door. The customer wanted a "secret message" engraved under the seat. "Granda" isn't a misspelling. The customer was from Sunderland so wanted it spelt this way. This is probably the regional, and most importantly, personal spelling.
