The Party Continues:- The Iron Road will be in a temporary home from Sept 27th for the rest of 2018. This means all gigs can go ahead and we can take our time to ensure the permanent home is in the right space in the right place.
Full details to follow next Wednesday but we will be in Pershore just 7 miles away from the Evesham building.

The Iron Road, Evesham - Official Statement:-
Unfortunately we have taken the hard decision to close the doors of The Iron Road, Evesham. Firstly we will be moving to a new premises in order to still hold the events booked in from end of Sept but sadly we will need to cancel the upcoming events, all tickets for these events will be refunded tomorrow. Once everything is in place we will announce where we shall be based.
We are no longer able to proceed at The Railway Hotel due... to serious disrepair with the building, all the problems negatively effect business in some way and the two biggest issues are frankly dangerous, "The Iron Road" is packed in a trailer right down to the canvases on the walls ready for it's new home.
You can be sure The Iron Road will be back, bigger, better and ready to continue the party very soon. We look forward to seeing you all then.

Saw the legendary Anvil there last week.First visit for me and as long as they put on the sorts of bands I enjoy watching my mate and myself will be back.Have to agree however that the drinks were a bit pricey.I don’t drink alcohol but even a pint of Grolsch and a coke didn’t leave enough change out of a tenner for a second round. For that reason alone we abstained for the rest of the evening.Piss taking prices aside I enjoyed my visit....oh and the doors were a bit slow in opening on a chilly Worcestershire evening.See you again soon I hope.

Saw Faster Pussycat here on Tuesday. Staff were very friendly from the minute you walked in the door. I wondered what seeing a band that had their success would be like in a small venue and it was out of this world. One of the best gigs that I have seen this year and I will be back to watch more bands at this venue very soon. Anybody who enjoys a live band should check this venue out. The food that was being served looked good so I will be trying that on my next visit. Just wished I had found this venue before now as they have had some great bands there !! Excellent night , excellent venue, excellent staff. Well worth five stars.

Nice pub/small venue which hosts a lot of great bands. Went to see/photograph Massive & Tequila Mockingbird. The gig room was smaller than I imagined, the stage is low, but it made for a nice, intimate evening, as it wasn't packed. We went early as they offer vegan/vegetarian options on their menu so tried the vegan 'Popeye Burger', which was a nice falafel and spinach burger (with vegan society approved vegan cheese and roasted vegetables). I'm not usually a fan of falafel, but the burger was tasty and came with fries and a small pot of baked beans. I would definitely recommend it. I'd like to see another vegan option/burger on the list, to give a wider choice for vegans - maybe a bean burger or regular vegan burger - but this one was nice. The venue has a big car park at the back, meaning you don't need to find parking elsewhere, although it's quite dark when walking back to your car after the gig. Overall, it was a great place to visit, making a change from bigger gigs/venues in Birmingham. I'd go there more if it was easier to get there on public transport. The train station is very close, but no trains from Redditch makes it harder to get back from if you don't drive. Would love a venue like this in my town. If I lived in Evesham I'd be there all the time.

Muttlie and the Crew at iron road couldn’t have made us more welcome, great live music from Coghlans Quo and the Burgers are something else, 3rd time we have been here and never been let down, keep up the good work Guys thanks again

User

Loved the venue. Good sound for a small place. Good bar staff. Only one issue and that was a punter who was over enthusiastic. Not the pubs fault.

User

I have been to the Iron Road 3 times seeing, Lioness, Jam'd and Hi on Maiden & Saxonized, brilliant venue with very friendly staff happy to help where needed. Last night I got to try the food, well I wasn't disappointed there either. Tasted great and looked as good as it tasted. Going again in September to the Britpop evening, looking forward to it, hope there doing food that night as want to try one of the other burgers next time.

User

I am definately going to be making this a regular place to go and see metal with a female front- that's my thing - on Friday or Saturday nights. A lovely atmosphere, great service and the groups have a fantastic stage presence.

User

Great venue.....Very welcoming. Great staff

Will definitely be making regular visits there

User

Great venue, great welcome. A memorable first visit and it won’t be the last.

User

Great venue for small gigs, warm welcome on arrival, friendly bar staff, and a great food menu (burgers with a difference 'fillings' and a cheesecake menu to die for) which I can't wait to try on my next visit, would highly recommend going here and look forward to my return

User

Great venue for live music, giving exposure to up and coming bands as well as more established acts. Lovely people too

User

Great venue & excellent burgers I enjoyed my veggie burger. Last night was Wille & the Bandits & Claude Hay it was amazing. The music was superb & the atmosphere was buzzing. Be warned it was warm in there as it was so busy. This was our 1st visit as we wanted to see Wille & The Bandits again we love their music excellent musicians & Claude was excellent too. Our 1st visit but we will be back...

User

Great live music venue. Seen hundreds and hundreds of bands live in hundteds of venues over many years but never been here before. But it won't be the last visit. Great sound for a small venue and the Halloween theme suited the night really well. Apologies to the bar staff and management for the mess we left!

User

First experience of the Iron Road last night, there to see Limehouse Lizzy. Friendly staff helped out my partner with a stool by the bar 'cos she's on crutches & standing for long periods is an issue.....just what you want from a live music venue & the time spent in sound check was we'll worth the wait, the band sounded great......will be back again I'm sure. Was worth the 150 mile round trip & overnight stay( premier inn just a mile up the road)

User

Awesome place, very accomadating from the management. staff really friendly and met lots of really nice people here.

Amazing gig last night!Canadian (Toronto)Rocker's ANVIL on their Pounding The Pavement European Tour blew the roof off the small but perfectly formed 'Iron Road Rock Bar'!The band didn't dissapoint! The packed audience were treated to an impressive show from these trio of Metal Heads formed in 1978.Opener March of the Crabs lead the way into a Metal Feeding Frenzy of Jaws proportions!

Mixed alongside tracks off the the current 'Pounding The Pavement' Album "Bitch in the Box",What I Want" ''Ego''and title track "Pounding the Pavement were several 'classic' ANVIL tracks including one from the first" ANVIL Opus 1981's 'Hard & heavy'..Oooh Baby!

Chris Robertson, band member for approx five years now on bass held his nerve and delivered pounding bass lines and a solo at one point in the show!

Steve 'Lips' Kudlow soon warmed the crowd with his likeable comic banter and straight Rock n Roll Attitude!tracks such as 666,Mothra and album title and mega track 'Metal on Metal' (lifted from 1982's Album Metal on Metal.)were played magnificently along side tracks from ANVIL's medium commercially successfull 'This is Thirteen ' album (2007)(produced by the late record Producer Chris Tsangarides).

A tribute to the late Lemmy Kilminster from Lips seemed appropriate given the friendship clearly made over the past years and the track '

A fairly lengthydrum solo from ANVIL's long standing(sitting?)sticksman Rob Reiner went down well to the crowds delight

and too soon it was time for the final track a slightly unexpected 'Born To Be Wild' from Steppenwolf(seemed to please the partisan crowd of The Iron Road!).Well done ANVIL come back Soon!
