Islamic Relief Uk - West Midlands Description
This group is for Islamic Relief volunteers in the West Midlands working to support the fund-raising efforts of the charity. The intention is to develop the site over time in order to create an effective resource in helping Islamic Relief do it's very important work.
The kind of things you could be asked to get involved in are:
* Representing Islamic Relief (becoming the public face of our organisation in your community - an "Amannah")
* Supporting events for fundraising or raising awareness (dinners, talks, meetings, appeals etc. );
* Distribution of leaflets and publicity (poster campaigns in the local community, leafleting);
* School assemblies (turning up at a school and talking to youngsters for 10 minutes about the poor and the needy);
* Masjid Appeals (making a short appeal at Jummah for Emergency Appeals / Disaster Response - or during Ramadan)
* Bucket Shaking (Shaking Buckets);
* Special projects (for those with particular talents - writing articles, graphic design, food stalls, web site development, managing a Facebook group, event photgraphy etc);
* Your own events (become more active in the community and organise your own events that we can support);
* Contributing with your own ideas (by Allah, we always need the opinions and ideas of our volunteers! );
