Specially for small people come and learn about owning a pony with grooming and stable jobs and a half hour lesson included! ┬Ż45 from 9-12noon

9-4, with two riding sessions as well as mucking out and grooming and all the jobs youŌĆÖd need to do if you had your own pony!

To be held indoors starting at 10am All classes are in hand and open to any pony under 12hh ŌĆō Handlers any age.
... Class 1 Condition and Turnout. Open to all, both the pony and the handler will be judged. Class 2 Prettiest Mare Open to any mare to be judged on looks alone! Class 3 Most handsome Gelding Open to any Gelding and again judged on looks alone! Class 4 Coloured Pony Open to any Colour except Bay/Chestnut/Black and Grey. To be judged on confirmation and markings. Class 5 Best Veteran Open to any pony aged 15 years or older, age to be clearly displayed for the judge please. Class 6 Child Handler Open to any pony, handler to be 16 or under, to be judged on the childs ability to show the pony. May be asked to trot the pony up, pick up a hoof etc to demonstrate their skills

Class 7 Fancy Dress Let your imagination run riot! Open to all, can be individual or pairs. Class 8 Handy Pony An obstacle course to be completed against the clock! Fastest time wins! Kathryn Toms - UKCC Qualified Dressage Coach.
Kathryns has been fortunate to work for many international and Olympic dressage riders from the UK and Europe for the last 15 years which include 4 times Olympic champion Kyra Kyklund and international rider Sara Millis to name a few.
Kathryn is now able to pass on her vast experience to other riders and is passionate to teach the essential basic scales of training whilst working alongside the biomechanics of the horses.
... She has had many successes teaching young talent with riders doing very well at regionals and the nationals.
She is very focused in ensuring the horses have the basics established which are fundamental as riders progress through the levels.
Kathryn is available to teach all levels of riders and her fun, enthusiastic approach makes lessons very enjoyable whilst gaining the best possible results from both rider and horse.
Slots are available throughout Sunday and Monday, book via the Island Riding Centre. Lessons will be considered booked when paid for.
Individual lessons ┬Ż45 for 45 minutes or ┬Ż30 each for a shared lesson.

Wonderful ladies at the island riding centre got me on a horse for the first time since an accident 3 years ago. Thank you so much.

Well what is their to say, Every body that works their are so friendly and helpful and The riding school is 5* as are all the Horses and Ponys. Tian is a fantastic Teacher and has the patients of a saint. Amy his partener is also a Fantastic teacher and fab with the children. When all the rest is built and up and running it will be one Fantastic equestrian Centre.

We stayed in one of the holiday cottages this weekend and can honestly say we have just got home from an amazing weekend. The accommodation was finished to such a high standard and Island Riding Centre is in a fantastic location to explore the Isle of Wight. Thanks for having us Louise, Martin and Paul. Until next time ’┐Į

This centre is very professional with kind, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. I booked 2 lessons, one for myself and one for my children and both lessons were pitched perfectly. We all enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return. I would definitely recommend this place to others. (It also has the cleanest yard toilet I have ever seen!)

Thank you for the great experience at your opening today. My girls loved it and I can see a few visits coming! You have done an excellent job with it and we wish you lots of success.

Thank you Tian for your quick response to myself about arranging riding for my guests that were staying on the Island, they loved there time with you on the ponies and thought your were great,they were very impressed and were even more so with the Dutch you learnt !

Thank you Amy, Tian and Phil for showing us around your beautiful facilities. We cannot wait until you begin your affiliated shows so that us from the "mainland" can come over and enjoy. A very well run yard with excellent facilities and much more in the planning process.

My son and i had a really lovely time at the riding centre today, all the staff are really welcoming, friendly and helpful and the selection of horses and ponies are really great. My son adored the little piedbold cob he rode and the girl who led him was really kind, great encouragement to my son, and nice to talk to about all things horsey as we rode all the beautiful fields. I absolutely fell in love with the horse i rode and being my first time back in the saddle after quite a break, it was so nice to get back out there on horseback again. I was more nervous about a yard full of new faces but everyone has been fantastic and i already feel really at home up there and looking forward to my next lesson, with big thanks to Kirsty and all the team.

My little boys first lesson and he absolutly loved it. Kate is very good with kids tried to reassure Kyle that he was okay on Alfie.. booked in again. Highly reccommend it!

My little boy aged 5 has wanted to ride a horse for quite a while. He had his first lesson with Amy this afternoon and he has the best time, he was smiling from start to finish. Amy was brilliant with Jake and praised and encouraged him throughout his lesson. Everyone was so friendly, Tian greeted us on arrival and asked to ensure he had a good time. Jake loved it so much that he is booked in next week for the kids club and he cannot wait, thank you so much for making his first encounter with horses so positive and memorable.

My daughter has never been happier. The staff are friendly and the facilities superb but what has really made the difference is the time and care taken to instruct and guide her through pony care and riding. Her lessons are thorough and tailored to suit her as well as focusing gently on areas she needs to improve whilst explaining how it will benefit both rider and pony. She has made a vast improvement in just a few sessions and loved her lesson with Kate this week. Congratulations to all involved in making this venture success.

My daughter had her 8th Birthday party at the Island Riding Centre yesterday and I can honestly say it was the best birthday party we have ever had! The staff, particularly Emily, were amazing with the kids, patient, warm and unfazed by the million questions being fired at her! The kids were allowed to be kids - they werenŌĆÖt told they needed to be quiet or not run around - they were allowed to be themselves. They got to meet all of the horses (and the two sheep!), groom and plait them, tack them up and then ride - so the whole experience! The whole place was fresh, clean and tidy and the facilities they are building look amazing! Would definitely recommend taking your kids here.

Lilly had her first lesson here yesterday. The staff we very friendly and professional. They made both myself and my daughter feel at ease and we're able to answer any questions we had. Lilly can't wait to come back haha xx

Just wanted to say I had a lesson with Amy after not being able to ride for 2 and a half years due to an injury and it was brilliant I achieved more in that lesson than I imagined I would be able to do. Get approach was fantastic and encouraging and although I've been aching for the last 3 days ’┐Į I know it's because she got me working and that's just what I wanted. The facilities here are fantastic and so are both Tian and Amy. this establishment is just what this island and riders need well done guys i am looking forward to my next lesson .

I book a lot of party packages for a variety of places / ages and I can say with out a doubt this was one of the best value for money party's we've done. The party's i arrange are not for any particular age group so today we had a mixed bunch (ages 4-13 years boys and girls) of 20 children. The normal party package is 2 hours but I wanted them to stay for longer so they did 4 hours filled with fun. When I asks my 4 kiddies what they enjoyed most they all said all of it! Definitely money well spent.

The communication upon enquiringly was great, really helpful staff who wanted to accommodate us.

The premises is is lovely , welcoming , modern and has a lovely warm feel to it. The stables sat round a court yard so the children where right at the heart of things and it was all stern and hush hush and do as your told it was hands on fun and get stuck in. The staff were really great with the kiddies I felt very comfortable leaving my 4 year old and equally comfortable leaving my push every boundary 13 year old.

Highly recommend and will definitely be using again.

Oh facilities - easily accessible, clean toilet, can access with wheel chair or pushchair. Quite a nice place to sit with a takeaway cuppa whilst your kiddies enjoy a lesson.

Have my boy there. Best place weŌĆÖve ever been. Suits our requirements down to he ground.

Have competed at the island riding centre twice now, brilliant day both times. Well organised, all competitors kept well informed of times etc and runs really smoothly. There is a lovely atmosphere and everyone is friendly and helpful. Can't wait for the next event!! ­¤É┤

Can't wait. I'm going to try riding again after nearly 30 years. The open day was brilliant. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The horses and ponies were really calm and well behaved inspite of the crowds.

Amy, Tian, Lissy and all the other guys are always super helpful and it's such a nice atmosphere there at shows too, surface is lovely in school, can't wait for the indoor one!!! ’┐Į’┐Į
