The Birth of Better Butter

Hello, I am Jane, I have been running Wriggles Brook Gypsy B& B in Hoarwithy, rural Herefordshire, with my husband John-Paul for the last 9 years.

I have been vegetarian for 38 years and vegan since January 2017

My daughters and I all made the transition to vegan together. My oldest daughter Katie came to me asking what to use instead of dairy butter on her toast as all the vegan spreads she had tried made her toast go soggy and were tasteless (She eats a lot of toast and crumpets. )

This is just the kind of challenge I like, (you can usually find me in the kitchen experimenting with food and also I had not found a vegan spread that made me want to eat hot toast or jacket potatoes)

Well after 6 months of testing recipes and ingredients and using my friends & family as tasters, my husband John-Paul ( a committed carnivore) gave me the greatest endorsement by eating it on his toast.
