This page is dedicated to promoting Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter as the place to live, learn, work and visit. People are also invited to ask questions or discuss the area.

You will see regular updates promoting business, attractions, events and news in and around the Jewellery Quarter.

This page is managed by the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) under the guidance of the Jewellery Quarter Development Trust.

A MUSIC-THEMED WALKING TOUR OF THE JEWELLERY QUARTER, LED BY JEZ COLLINS, FOUNDER OF THE BIRMINGHAM MUSIC ARCHIVE – WITH OVER 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ENTREPRENEUR IN THE CREATIVE, AND PARTICULARLY MUSIC, INDUSTRIES IN BIRMINGHAM. This two-hour walk will reveal some of the hidden stories, spaces and places of Birmingham’s music history and heritage in the Jewellery Quarter.
You’ll hear about The Krays being sent packing back to London and the infamous B...attle of the Cedar Club. We’ll visit the site where Robert Plant would jam with touring bands and where a young David Bowie would suggest the formation of one the great Birmingham bands. We’ll follow in the footsteps of some of the giants of 60s music by visiting the site of Alex’s Pie Stand where bands would congregate to talk about the gigs they had just played across the UK.
And we’ll visit the site of ex-footballer Andy Gray’s old club that was at the centre of the New Romantic scene and hear about the glitz and glamour of the city’s legendary house clubs and nights of the 80s & 90s.
Join us as we delve into some of the lesser known histories of Birmingham’s rich and vibrant history!

Decorate a tote bag with your own design, inspired by buildings in the historic heart of the Jewellery Quarter. Paint your design and then transfer to a tote bag using a heat press. All materials provided.
The workshop will be led by Deborette Clarke who is a designer/maker with a wealth of experience that covers many areas in the creative sector. Deborette designs and makes small leather goods and bags under the label B18 Leather. She is a qualified teacher who currently teaches Art and Design and Design and Technology in mainstream secondary education, having taught for 16 years. Deborette's background is in Fashion and Textiles, but along the way has gained experience in a variety of areas including floristry, Interior design and jewellery making.

Join The Crafts Collective and be inspired by the beautiful, historic buildings of the Jewellery Quarter to create your own designs to print. Learn how to cut your own design into lino and print on fabric or card. Great for those who want to learn a new skill or make some personalised artwork!
The workshop will start with a wander around some of the Jewellery Quarter streets, where you can get inspiration for your designs. You'll then be able to design and print using lino, a...ll materials provided.
The Crafts Collective is based in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter. The building is dated in the mid Victorian period of the 1860s and was originally a jewellery makers. The studio has lots of original features to help make your experience even more memorable.You'll be crafting in a laid back but focused environment with like- minded people and you'll have all the help you'll need from your tutors.

Join Jewellery Quarter heritage expert Rupert Fisher as he talks about the fascinating story of this historic area, showing a range images from the past. Find out about the people, buildings and businesses that have thrived in the area over the last 200 years and have helped to give the Jewellery Quarter its unique character.
Make the most of this one-off opportunity to take in views from the heights of the 5th floor Sky Lounge!

Explore the industrial middle of the Jewellery Quarter with photographer Pete Ashton on hand to offer advice and help you get the most out of your camera. Photo walks are about slowing down and really looking at the details of the area whilst learning from being in a group. All cameras, smartphones and levels of experience are welcome.
Photo Walks are run by Pete Ashton, an established Birmingham artist, photographer and trainer. Pete has been teaching photography through Photo School since 2012. He specialises in teaching beginners and particularly enjoys the challenge of explaining complex concepts in simple terms.

Take a walk around the fascinating Jewellery Quarter and write a short poem inspired by your journey and the buildings you encounter.
The workshop will start with a wander around the Jewellery Quarter, where you'll find out about some of the hidden histories and characters from the past. You will then go to The Hive, where you will 'build a poem' with the help of award-winning publisher Emma Wright from The Emma Press
Suitable for age 6+, maximum 2 adults per child.

Friendly, helpful staff downstairs, knowledgeable guide took us through offices and workshops. Good range of jewelry on sale, interesting jewelry from the past on display in 2 galleries, pleasant tea room.

For me, JQ is the best part of Brum. Has an atmosphere of it's own and hosts some great pubs.

Fabulous! So many shops and so much variety. My husband bought me an eternity ring and was resized for me within 2 hours! Amazing service.

As a local resident and business owner the JQ goes from strength to strength with exciting new independent retail and services on Vyse Street - Alan Waterman, Burbo Kture, Feed My Creative, Gingermeg Vintage and self plug for fair trade and quirky gift Shop Citizen Home. Great museums - coffin works, pen museum and museum of the JQ. Great cafes- Urban coffee, Lunchi, Vees ( inc veggie vegan) and Hylton ( known for great English breakfasts mon-fri). What’s not to like?
